However, being met with hostility rather than understanding does not reflect the level of care, respect, or professionalism patients should expect--especially in a healthcare setting where feeling safe, heard, and respected is essential. I would also like to clarify the statement regarding my insurance. I was very clearly informed that I was waiting due to a clean room, not because of insurance-related issues. Referencing my insurance instead of acknowledging this miscommunication further demonstrates a lack of accountability. Additionally, mentioning having a biracial child does not negate or invalidate my experience. While representation and inclusivity are important, that statement raised additional concern, as it does not address the issue at hand and should not be used as a defense against a patient's lived experience.
