To start, there's been a new building manager hired since the previous reviewer uploaded their thoughts. He's really good and all of my experiences with him have been positive. He's understanding and while not overly approachable he's very reasonable, fair and effective at what he does.
As for the building itself, the lobby is dated but kept absolutely spotless. There are issues here, but this was one of the more inexpensive buildings in town when I was house-hunting. You gotta be realistic; you can't expect the Chateau Mormont at a Best Western Plus rate (or whatever, I don't stay in hotels). We've had some pretty big issues with the plumbing but they were all dealt with quite fast by the building manager. The apartments themselves are what you'd expect for the (inflated, Kelowna market) price. Our unit had horrible tenants before who apparently did a lot of damage but you wouldn't know it by looking at it.
One of the best parts about this building is the emphasis on both security and quiet. When we were being interviewed the building manager took us on a tour of the building (of course) and showed off all the security features that are installed. Despite the location I've never felt unsafe here. As for the quiet factor, that was heavily stressed when we were being interviewed and for the most part it's been what we've experienced. There's a rather stompy neighbour upstairs from us but the day after we issued a complaint about it the building manager had dealt with it.
All in all, living here has been a positive. The units are basic, but good and well-kept. I'm looking forward to staying here for the next several years. read more
