This has been our experience we did keystone middle school that wasn't that bad but by the end a…read morelot of papers but you could use PowerPoint as well so wasn't so bad. We skipped a year and did 10th grade. It was so hard and there is writing after writing. It is worse than my masters degree program. They don't have different levels of learning. The geometry is not working properly and so now my child is running behind. It took her a year to finish two out of five classes due to overwhelming amount of work. Do not take Nutrition and Wellness really over the top. The only class that was decent was the geography. If you want your children to tap out then Keystone is for you. Now I don't know where to go from here. She is still in tenth.

I was told I should hold out and he could return to the program later and I told them I thought I should pull him because of the amount of time he'd be out. The payments have been charged on my credit card account and I called to stop them but now I own books I don't need and I have to be charged the last payment.He stopped in January and its now the end of April. I'm not unreasonable and would have been happy had they just closed it when I became aware that the payments hadn't stopped. Oh well, Just another learning experience!

Ms. Reppert doesn't just teach -- she commands the room with the energy of a tormenta (storm) and the precision of a maestra de salsa (salsa master). Every lesson with her is más picante que un jalapeño (spicier than a jalapeño) -- fast-paced, fiery, and impossible not to love. Whether we're conjugating verbs or diving into deep cultural conversations, Ms. Reppert makes sure every student feels seen, heard, and challenged. She leads with confianza (confidence), corazón (heart), and just enough drama to make even grammar exciting! She doesn't just set the bar high -- she builds the whole puente (bridge) to success and dares us to cross it. And trust me, when Ms. Reppert believes in you, you feel like you can bailar flamenco on top of the world. In a world full of teachers, Ms. Reppert is the jefa (boss), the reina del aula (queen of the classroom), and the ultimate ALPHA. Gracias for being a daily inspiration and making Spanish class the best part of my day!

God forbid anyone say anything truthful about The Great Dallas School District. Teachers are amazing - they are what keeps the school getting great reviews. That being said the response from administration is usually slow if they respond at all. For example with the transportation manager he never returns calls you literally have to call Dr.Duffy first then him to get an answer. There is Parent committee that is not open to all parents not a PTO but a PAC- you can "snail" mail in a form to suggest some ideas. My idea was to put the form on a google doc- so parents can send online and if they want anonymously. I never heard back-maybe someday I will

Some will even show up at 7 and do an hour of review with students. One specific Guidance Councilor, is an amazing woman who goes above and beyond for her students... they don't even have to be assigned to her. She helps every single student that walks in the door. Unlike the old councilor who was fired. One of the best schools in the entire STATE! No exaggeration.

An…read moreassistant principal in that building pushed my kid 3 times then grabbed him by his arm and my kid was not being violent at all! The school did absolutely NOTHING about it. My son has been getting harassed since September.. it's now April and it hasn't fully stopped..they target kids all the time and try to falsely accuse kids if things they are doing..I can say more but I'm saving it for my lawyer..I had it with the school!

They go above and beyond to solve problems and there registration, guidance and emotional needs staff goes above and beyond to help. If some of the kids who hate the schools so much would actually get full consequences for their actions they might actually learn something. But the schools do more than the norm to get a child in the right program. Hats off to the staff!!

The fear, confusion and anger that came with our son's learning disability diagnosis 11 years ago…read morehas shifted to acceptance and pride and joy. We enrolled our son at The Hillside School in second grade. He was there for three years then re-enrolled in seventh grade to help pilot the middle school program. The strategies he was taught in reading and writing along with skills in meta-cognition and self-advocacy have successfully supported him through high school and he will graduate in June. He was recently re-evaluated by our local school district in preparation for college admission. While he will always have a learning difference, he has tested out of needing specially designed instruction and hence an IEP. The faculty and staff at The Hillside School have consistently guided us with compassion and respect. Our investment in our son's education in his elementary and middle school years has been worth the time, effort and money put forth. My gratitude for Hillside is deep and wide. We celebrate our son's strengths every day and look forward to a bright future.

However, that acceptance was later reversed based on what we were told were observations from just two weeks at summer camp. We also felt that communication throughout the process was lacking. We were often left waiting for answers and did not receive the clear, timely communication we expected. What made the situation even more difficult was the timing. After initially accepting our son, the school reversed its decision less than a month before the start of the school year. That left our family scrambling to find another appropriate school and put an incredible amount of unnecessary stress on an already challenging situation. We do not believe two weeks in a camp setting accurately reflects a child's educational needs or what they require in a school environment. We expected a more thorough evaluation process and better communication before such a significant decision was made. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Hillside School.
