God forbid anyone say anything truthful about The Great Dallas School District. Teachers are amazing - they are what keeps the school getting great reviews. That being said the response from administration is usually slow if they respond at all. For example with the transportation manager he never returns calls you literally have to call Dr.Duffy first then him to get an answer. There is Parent committee that is not open to all parents not a PTO but a PAC- you can "snail" mail in a form to suggest some ideas. My idea was to put the form on a google doc- so parents can send online and if they want anonymously. I never heard back-maybe someday I will

Some will even show up at 7 and do an hour of review with students. One specific Guidance Councilor, is an amazing woman who goes above and beyond for her students... they don't even have to be assigned to her. She helps every single student that walks in the door. Unlike the old councilor who was fired. One of the best schools in the entire STATE! No exaggeration.

I attended Greater Nanticoke Area school district from kindergarden until high school graduation,…read morebut there was a period of time during my early teenage years when I was home schooled. I'd been suffering from headaches for years. My family doctor, quite understandably, was convinced they were stress related. In school I was an overachiever; grades were more important to me than anything. I remember kicking out a window in anger after I received my first B+ on a test. I had also given myself painful stomachaches. I remember being tested for ulcers at an early age and downing Pepto-Bismol like it was milk. My desire to succeed, and overshadow my fellow classmates, was causing me physical and social strain. I had few friends my own age and was always more comfortable around adults. I tried to make friends with my teachers and I saw them as equals instead of authority figures. I passed out in science class one day during the sixth grade. As I approached the teacher's desk, preparing to hand in an assignment, my face felt flush and I fell to the floor like dead weight. I must have only been unconscious for a moment or two, but it was enough for my parents to schedule me an appointment with a specialist. I was diagnosed with a cerebellum tumor in August of 1998 and underwent brain surgery soon thereafter. I had been out of school for several months. I neglected my studies, spending all my time recuperating and in physical therapy. Besides, I now fatigued very easily and would never make it through an entire school day--or even a modified half schedule. Eventually, I would restart my classes. Greater Nanticoke Area would arrange for a teacher to come to my house for several hours, three times a week. I was referred to as a "homebound student." It was already midway through the school year when I began my home schooling, and I was afraid of being held back a grade. However, because I previously excelled in my academia, I was able to pick up right where I left off. Most of my work was done on the computer as I still had trouble writing longhand. I was able to juggle my studies and therapy, and maintained a high grade average. Still, there were times I would get overwhelmed by my workload. I would act out, and get either very angry or emotional. During the day, my homebound teacher, Mrs. Zaborney, taught students who were mentally incapacitated and developmentally challenged. As such, she was patient and understood my limitations. Mrs. Zaborney would give me lessons in every subject for the next several years that followed. Fortunately, I was fully recovered by the beginning of senior year and able to attend graduation ceremony with my fellow students.

Our head principal had kids who went there who could get away with anything and everything, he bullied teachers into quitting their jobs, and was a creep to all girls at the school. You will be treated unfairly, be disrespected, and will only have a good time if you kiss the administrations ass. The only thing they care about is their football field and sports teams. Nothing was ever funded unless it was for sports. Teacher scandals were nothing new and even at the elementary level everyone was awful. I do not recommend anyone bring their children here please go somewhere else for a better education and learning environment. For reference I graduated in 2021 which was just a few months ago nothing has changed from what my family (who still attend) has told me and has actually gotten worse. In conclusion Lake Lehman is hands down one of the worst places to be educated in the area and cyber school in the district is no better
