Chinese dishes left a lot to be desired - my friend ordered a lo mein and it was really doused in soy sauce with just a super-salty flavor that wouldn't pass in another place in the world (we had already taken it home).... Egg drop soup remains one of the most unique I've ever had anywhere. Didn't eat inside, but the interior hasn't changed in 20+ years, not a problem. Credit card machine was having network issues for several people including me, but it looks like the charges went through. Go here instead of the dank buffet down the street, just order the thai dishes when you do!

The ratio of rice to fish was too much rice. Hot items were good. The cheese wontons were nice, scallops were hot and spring rolls and chicken wings were good. The matcha ice tea was nice and not freezer burnt. After getting our initial drinks it took a while to get a refill, I had been empty for some time before I was able to flag down the server. The biggest thing that is the deterrent for me was the price. For 3 of us the total bill came out to $164. Granted, this was a Saturday dinner + 3 orders of soda but that's still a lot of money.

But we'd also picked up two plates of Shrimp Pad Thai and some seaweed salad. Mind you, both of these dishes are delicious, but you wouldn't know that if you live in Sault Ste Marie. First of all, the pad thai tasted nothing like pad thai, and not for the better. We threw them out. The seaweed salad looked good, though. I took one bite, spit it out, and ran to the bathroom to throw up. I've never thrown up from anything tasting that bad before. I've had sour milk in my mouth before, and rinsed without problem. This seaweed salad made me throw up. It should not taste like dirty lake water! You're doing it wrong! Stop trying to make foods you have no clue how to make!

Lying to Customers…read more Kid working at hot foods counter tells me I can't buy chicken tenders and potatoe wedges for another hour, at 8pm. So I drive all the way back to the store and get there a few minutes before the hour. The kid and his co-worker do their best to ignore me and another customer before disappearing somewhere. I ask the kid, Do you remember telling me that chicken dinners aren't put out until 8pm? Sneering, he tells me what's out there is all there is. I asked him why he lied to me. Wouldn't look me in the eye. Complained to closing manager who basically fobbed me off. I loathe dishonesty and won't be shopping at Rome's in Sault Ste Marie ever again.
