I am a frequent customer of lychee Thai and my partner and I always enjoy our dishes that we get when we get takeout from there. The worst Pad Thai I've had. My husband got chicken Pad Thai with two thinnest pieces (no joke) of chicken and I got tofu and vege pad Thai with two fried pieces of Tofu and three pieces of broccoli. The rest were all noodles..... taste was good but we couldn't get over how we both only found two tiny pieces of protein in our food! If you're someone who is used to portioning your macros this place will piss you off lol I will not return and will be warning my friends about this place. Updated: Mango Salad was horrible as well. Absolutely ripped off. The tatse for Pad Thai (lunch meal) and Golden curry were so so, the wonton soup was tasteless (both soup and wonton), felt like water. The spring roll was the best - but nothing outstanding. To be honest the food was not too bad but there was no Thai taste here. We're big fans of Thai food and we're so disappointed with both quality and quantity here. The price was too expensive. We believe as this is one of the few Asian restaurants in the area, that's why it can survive. We only had picture of beef Pad Thai ($13.99) - as you can see in the picture - portion too small, not much meat. Curry was better a bit but we had to pay $3.5 for a small portion of steamed rice to eat with it - never happen in my life. Just to clarify, when the server asked what I chose to eat with curry - I said steamed rice because ALL Thai restaurant I ate before offer free rice with curry. I never thought that I had to pay for that. My fault for not reading the menu carefully but again - ripped off. Stay away from this restaurant. Subway or Tim horton is a muchh better choice. Fast service and decent quality Thai food. Our orders were taken promptly and were served almost as fast. The pad Thai was different than we've had elsewhere but still tasty. The tofu was sparse and a little mushy for my liking however the others thought the texture was just fine. If the pieces were smaller... it might have been more plentiful throughout. The veggies were crisp and the overall flavor was very good... with a hint of garlic. The chicken dish was cooked well and had a sweet and slightly spicy flavor. The broccoli was steamed and slightly underdone for my taste. The shrimp rolls were tasty and super hot out of the fryer. (Shrimp tails were in the wrapper to make a handle ...very unique). Rice was a la cart and that was also unusual for what we are used to. Not a must hit spot, but if you are craving Thai and need a good quality meal. This is it. read more

I've just had a very disappointing experience, where I sent my food back and they refused to remove it from the bill. The reason I sent back my Pad See Ew was as follows: - a *single* piece of tofu atop a serving bowl of noodles - vegetables were raw, not parcooked - it tasted of Chinese soy sauce and nothing more. In short, bland and short on flavor, not to mention protein. I asked for the item to be removed from my bill, and I was told that if everyone did what I was doing, they couldn't run their business. Great Thai restaurant! I am a local and have been ordering for takeout several times a month for the last 6 years. The food is consistently delicious and service is always amazing. Pretty good Thai food! Giving it three stars since it was tasty, though some things about the food I'd suggest doing a bit different. Lots of onions in my sweet & sour tofu dish (my boyfriend's shrimp dish too), and I would've taken out the actual tamarind since there were chunks. Good food and cozy atmosphere, which is a converted Italian restaurant in a great location on Queen St. They have a nice vegetarian selection for a small town restaurant, so this is a "must stop" for any vegetarians. We never had Curry Pad Thai before, which was a real treat. Wish the service was a little better and they had Thai iced tea, which is keeping me from giving them a five-star. Very reasonable prices, and, based by the traffic coming in and out while were there, I would suggest making a reservation. If ever back in the Soo, I would eat here again. read more

In more than 10 years of full-time traveling coast to coast, we've eaten Thai hundreds of places across the US -- and now, in Canada, as well. While this review is based on only one meal, I must say, that meal was superb! Started with the chicken satay, which was perfectly seasoned, moist and came with one of the best peanut sauces I've ever tasted -- smooth and spicy, balanced with rich peanut taste but none of that overwhelming "peanut butter" flavor and consistency so often found. Then came the shrimp pad thai, with fresh vegetables, tasty noodles and just the right level of heat (we ordered medium) to wake up the flavor, which was fabulous. Next, we had the duck curry with rice, a pure delight, thick and flavorful. We finished with the mango and sticky rice. This was the only minor disappointment, as the mango was apple-crisp (and the waitress said that was how the chef preferred to serve it in this dish). But the rice was luscious, half nutty-flavored black Thai rice and half white, sweet, coconut-creamy and warm. Even paired with under-ripe crisp mango, it was a treat to get the rarely served black rice. Serving sizes were generous, as we went home with leftovers, too. If only their menu included our favorite beef salad, this place would get the full five stars. That lack notwithstanding, I can't wait to go back. read more

The food was good - I especially liked the spring rolls. The other dishes were good, nothing outstanding. First time I've seen pineapple fried rice; it wasn't overly pineapple-y and good. We finished up with mango bubble smoothie. (I asked for thai iced tea before reading the menu, and was apologetically told that they only had canned - it wasn't on the menu.)
