The workers are always friendly and helpful about anything which is nice. They have a great selection of quality cat and dog foods for your spoiled furkids. They also have accessories and other necessary items even though they are a smaller pet store then say Pet Supplies Plus. They are a small chain, so they have various locations around Chicago. And biggest plus of all? They DELIVER. FOR FREE. I think you have to spend like $30 but that is easy to do. I love having Fluffy's stuff delivered right to my door and not having to drive to get her crap, yay yay yay. read more

I walk my dog by this store and go in almost three times a week because the staff is so friendly and wonderful to both me and my dog. They are really knowledgeable on what dogs need and have helped me several times when my vet was closed with advice on my dog's anxiety and belly troubles. Highly recommend!! read more

Pet stuff is a nice little spot to stop if you live in the area and need some essential supplies for the little fury one in your life. The only problem is that this place is so small it doesn't seem to be able to carry a ton of variety in products. I was looking for something in particular and they, unfortunately, didn't carry what the pup was in need of. Now, the good side to that story is that the guy working the counter knew exactly what it was I was looking for and referred me over to another store in the area who did carry what I was after. Their customer service seems to be spot on. It's always nice to go to a place and they want to help even if it means referring you over to somewhere else. read more

This is my neighborhood pet store ever since I moved to Chicago. Their prices are good, you can preorder bags to guarantee they'll have your type when you need it and the manager truly seems to care about animals. The other kids working there are all really nice and good with recommendations without pressuring you to buy. When I moved here the manager was good with helping me find a vet and dog walking services (all very good recommendations). The toys are quality and not apt to break quickly (with an APBT mix that's a hard task). The only time I've been less than satisfied was when I purchased a Chirpie (it was a pressed dog chew treat made of yaks milk, salt, and lime). The guy said it would last awhile; my critter killed it in 5 minutes, the little glutton. A day later I noticed a huge bulging goiter under her neck. 800$ later and we determine it had to have been a foreign object that was trying to work it's way out of her mouth bed. I'm not blaming anyone and I was a little overzealous taking her to the vet so quickly (shes my baby I want to make sure she's happy and she was obviously in pain and drooling everywhere and couldn't eat), but be forewarned to stay away from those treats. I haven't seen them since I've been in there, so perhaps they realised they weren't the best. All in all, they always have my food; there's usually good sales and a frequent buyers card. I cannot say enough good things about Bentley's. The staff is fantastic. They remembered my name and Cosmo's after my very first visit with him. They recommended some frozen raw meaty bones to curb his barking habit in the morning which worked like a charm. One weekend, we stumbled into the store and got free professional photographs that are just adorable. I would likely go here no matter what considering how convenient it is. But the fact that the service and quality of options are so top notch, it means that I will actually design my walks around a visit and go far more often than I should! read more

If you are a new pet owner or can't get a hold of your vet to get your ?'s answered: BONUS: you CAN ask and all questions you have about your pet here.. because they really like to give the advice & don't mind the chatter. Perfect place for me! I felt like I was at a very friendly Vet's office. Overly helpful on picking products & KNOWING their products. Have you ever been to a store where you knew more about their products? And you were stuck there & rummaging through the store because you have to. No mistake about it - this store is hands down a blessing to pet owners. It's on a smaller side but don't underestimate it - there is enough product to feed lots of hungry doggies & kittens. No push for upselling here although if you ask a question - be ready to get an answer, maybe a few! ADDED BONUS: doggies are allowed inside! Great edited selection of high end dog and cat foods. They also carry alot of quality toys and treats. Very nicely merchandised. The staff are very helpful and the quality is commensurate with the price. Downside is the food is expensive. Overall, go for it if you can afford it. read more

Steve is as good as it gets. I picked up two Chow Chow puppies from a shelter in Texas. As I hadn't had a puppy (let alone 2) in over 20 years, Steve was tremendously helpful in getting me quality food, toys, and supplies as well as getting my knowledge back up to speed. He has a great demeanor and isn't condescending when you say something incorrectly. I pretty much have made this my only stop for pet supplies and pet advice. read more

This is the only store I have found in Chicago that sells Weruva, which is a really high quality cat food. The price is quite reasonable too. I always buy some other stuff like treats or toys when I'm in there even if they are a litlle more than at bigger stores. I have never written one of these before but, I am astounded at the treatment I'm getting from these people. They made a $100.00 delivery to the wrong building but, swore up and down that it was somewhere in my building. I had the doormen jumping through hoops as Pet Stuff insisted that they could not possibly have made a mistake........well they did. 3 days later our doorman found it at another building. Instead of an apology and maybe an offer to send me up another bag of dog food at least, they refuse to deliver to me! Wow......what business people. They get no stars from this consumer. read more

I believe in supporting small businesses in my community and will not support this particular one!!!! My dog became ill from a particular brand of dog food delivered from Pet Stuff. Although my dog does have sensitive stomach issues due to her allergy to grains, she has eaten the same dog food brand for the past 3 years. She had an isolate issue with the brand one time in the prior year and again this time. I communicated this to the store located in River North. Instead of receiving prompt courteous customer service, I was confronted with delayed, unprofessional, crass, appalling, and rude treatment, never before experienced in lifetime. According to the store, it was my issue that I have a dog with a sensitive dietary needs. Thus, the store refused to pick up the defective dog food and deliver a new bag of food, refused to refund the money for the defective dog food and black listed my name from the store. As a result, I am one of the many individuals on the infamous and seemingly long list of "DO NOT DELIVERY PEOPLE"!!!!!!!! What happens to the "customer is always right policy"? It does not appear to exist with PET STUFF. With the plethora of options available for customers these days, Pet Stuff will suffer with this type of business practices. read more

They have the knowledge and take the time to really listen to your questions and to understand your needs. Their selection is complete and they have a full array of treats and toys!
