During the original installation in 2017, the floating-floor product we selected reportedly had manufacturing or fit issues, and we were advised to switch to a glue-down product. Before proceeding, we specifically raised concerns regarding installation over our concrete slab and an existing crack. Following preparation work on the slab, including filling the crack, we were assured that the slab condition was acceptable and that the crack would not become visible through the flooring. After approximately three years, the flooring began experiencing issues including crack showing, plank separation, and lifting. We contacted Franey's in 2021 regarding these concerns and met with a representative. We were told that nothing would be done regarding the crack and that we should call back if the loose planks became a "trip hazard." In September 2025, we again contacted Franey's. During that visit, a handheld moisture meter was used to check for possible moisture conditions. The company ultimately attributed the issues to foundation and moisture conditions and declined responsibility. We requested documentation related to the moisture readings, including recorded measurements and calibration information for the meter used. We were later informed that no formal report, recorded measurements, or calibration documentation existed. We made multiple efforts to resolve the matter directly and professionally, including reviewing the company's proposal and providing several counterproposals, including repair options, prorated replacement proposals, customer installation options, and refund requests. Although the current owner was willing to communicate, we were ultimately unable to reach a resolution. One statement from the company that particularly stood out to us was: "Being upset or disappointed after the fact, is buyer's remorse..." This review reflects our personal experience with the project and the subsequent handling of the matter.

We still had quite a lot of ceramic tile, in the entry way, a very long and wide walkway and two bathrooms. We decided just a few weeks ago to remove all of the tile (except our master bath) and continue the laminate. Fortunately, the laminate is still available. The installer removed ALL of the baseboards and was able to tie the laminate into the existing floor. There were two places where that was not possible; in those cases, he moved the existing laminate back so that the transition strip is in line with the door to the room and it is not visible. Even when you open the door, it is not very noticeable. There isn't any visible difference between the laminate that was already there and the newly-installed laminate. We also had new tile installed in the laundry room and our guest bath. I highly recommend Sierra Custom Flooring. They do outstanding quality work. Prices are very reasonable.

As we were paying for the items, he requested the cashier to put his number so he can get the reward points, even though I was paying for the items. We had agreed he would avoid cutting back of the drywall and the stucco to gain access to the shower cartilage, and instead access everything from the front, which is why we bought cover plates. However, when we arrived at the house, he went ahead and cut into the drywall from the back without notifying me or my wife. He did the same for the upstairs bathroom. Then he was gone for half the day leaving his 2nd to do all the work. After returning, they proceeded to cut into the stucco, still without mentioning any additional costs. Around 5:00 p.m., they left without repairing the walls or the stucco, and it was only then that Manuel (owner) mentioned wanting more pay. I gave him $250 as part of our original $360 agreement, with the understanding the rest would be paid once the job was complete. A day after, he texted me claiming I owe him $2000. I told him I wasn't going to pay that much money. I asked him to return and complete the job since he is the one who decided on his own accord to cut through stucco and drywall without obtaining permission. I told him if he had mentioned that this would have cost me $2000, I would never have taken him up on this job. He left the job half done so that he can pry on our emotions with efforts of extorting more money from us. very unprofessional, and he will ruin your house.

AVOID THIS BUSINESS, LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKE OR RISK THEM RUINING YOUR KITCHEN REMODEL…read more June 2021 Wife and I started working on finally remodeling our kitchen. We already had the new kitchen designed and cabinets ordered from Lowes. Needed counter tops but Lowes was behind on obtaining material. We thought we would check out local options and considering obtaining construction supplies during Covid has been difficult, we would try a local option. We went to Elite and dealt with Brenda Tinoco directly. She and her husband Alejandro "Alex" Tinoco showed us the material they had available and my wife fell in love with the crystal grey quartz counter tops. They provided us an estimate and we paid up front for the material. Arrangements were made with both Brenda and Alex that since our cabinets were taking 16 weeks to be built and delivered, that we would contact them once they were installed and they could come out to install the counters. They would hold the material that we purchased and it would be ready to go when the time came. Alex told us directly that it would take one day to do the template, next day to install. Left after paying for close to 1/2 up front, felt that the counter top issue had been resolved. If only I knew what was to come. Please read on. Fast forward to the beginning of the nightmare and misrepresentations made from this company. Appointment was arranged by me for Alex to come out on September 30, 2021. I had to change this appointment to the following Monday, October 4, 2021. I wait all day until I finally was able to call Alex later in the day. He said he would be out the next day. (Notice, I had to call him, he didn't call me to let me know that) His excuse was that he was falling behind in another project. I thought okay, I would give him the benefit of the doubt. October 5, 2021 (Tuesday) I wait for them to show up again. Again, they do not show up and I have to track down Alex via telephone again. He tells me that he had to send someone down to LA to obtain some material. Suspicious as I had already purchased the material in June and they were supposed to hold it, not use it for another job. This told me that they used my material that I purchased without asking me. As I had already paid for half the material, I again gave them the benefit of the doubt. I was told by Alex that he would definitely be out there the next day. Alex tells me no later that 10 AM. October 6, 2021, I again wait. By the time it gets to noon, I call Alex again. He tells me that it is going to definately happen today, that he had to send someone down to Bakersfield for the material. (Notice, the day before it had been LA. Obviously, getting difficult to keep things straight with these folks) Alex and his team finally show up around 1:30 pm. They have the materials, but tools are on another truck. We wait and the other truck appears. They start to do work. Specifically, these are the items we wanted installed: 1. Stainless steel farmhouse sink. They indicated that they provide this service and it would be no issue. 2. Install Quartz countertops. Now, assuming that installing countertops is what this company does, I assume that they would know what they were doing. WRONG After they were done, Counter tops looked good. Alex only stayed during half of the job but specifically told me that if there were any issues, to contact him directly. He wanted to make sure that I was happy. October 7, 2021 Wife and I walk into the kitchen the next morning and try to open one of the top drawers. It sticks on the counter top. These are all maple plywood, semi custom, brand new cabinets that the top drawers will not open and close correctly because Alex and his team failed to properly measure and check the drawers before installing the Quartz. It appears that the plywood they used on the counter tops was too thin, had it been thicker, I would not be having the issues with the drawers that I am having. I take a video of it and text it to Alex, telling him about the issue. He tells me that he will come out later and take a look at it. Kitchen plumbing is now delayed and can't be installed because I am waiting on Alex to fix this. I contact Alex as he had not shown up I ask him if he is coming out today. ( I know, stupid question right?) He said he will. I took a full day off work again waiting for him. He finally calls me at close to 5:00 PM, asks he if can come by tomorrow morning. ( I had already taken two days off waiting for him to appear) I tell him no. He asks when I would be off work so he could stop by. I inform him that I will be back home at 5:00 PM. He said he can stop by then. October 8, 2021 I texted him twice today to confirm that he was coming by, he confirmed that he was, that the store closes at 5:00 PM and that he would swing by right after. Again, nothing. I have called and texted both Alex and Brenda. Texts are ignored. Calls go directly to voicemail that is not set up.

The build is good quality, with standard 9' ceilings and options like textured walls and tile floor in most areas. They salesperson was great to work with, and patient with all our questions. What we most appreciated was the ability to change anything we wanted--something tract builders simply refused. We revised the floor plan significantly and added features that were desirable to us, and we felt the change orders were at reasonable prices. John, our construction manager, was incredible. He had many as five trades working at one time, and he made a few suggestions that really improved things we hadn't thought about. The build took about a hundred days from groundbreaking. We did encounter delays getting *to* groundbreaking. Part of the delay was in working with them to revise our plan multiple times until it was just as we wanted it. But there were also delays in getting permits, where it seemed that perhaps they didn't monitor the process as closely as they had promised. That said, we were willing to wait in order to get things done as we wanted. The design process for finishes could have used improvement. They didn't want to discuss any of those details with us until it was time to order, but we needed to do it earlier in order to determine what our costs would be. We also found that some of their default designs were out of date, such as offering granite countertops, platform tubs, and drop-in cooktops when styles had moved on to quartz, freestanding tubs, and slide-in stoves. But we simply requested what we wanted, and they accommodated it--and it's possible they've updated since then. Despite our few small complaints, we would recommend Daley--and we have!
