Really nice size 2 bedroom cabins with a fully equipped kitchen. Each room has a comfortable queen…read moresize bed and there is a futon couch in the living room. The property has a creek running along the property. They provide tubes if you want to just float and relax in the shade. The pool has a sun tanning ledge if you don't want to spend all your time in the shade. Each cabin has a fire pit and a s'more kit is provided. I would recommend cooking dinner at the cabin as most restaurants are only open for breakfast or lunch, but we did visit on the off season. The closest full size grocery store is in Uvalde, so plan accordingly. Also cell service on verizon doesn't work in this area, but free wifi is provided.

I was surprised and thankful we had an electric heater!! The horses and ranch staff were a bit stand off ish until they get to know you, but then they are super friendly and accommodating, so please give everyone a chance, they are all great people. The facilities are great, though we came at a time of year that the pool was not in use. The only thing we were a bid irked by was how the horses didn't seemed to be brushed daily, and they had burrs and mud caked on them. I would think it would still be a profitable business after being in the family for over a hundred years, to have a hired hand that just took care of the horses on a daily basis, since that is the business' main draw and attraction. Uniquely beautiful and comfortable, Longhorn Guest Cabin has everything from dueling fireplaces on either end of the great hall, to sumptuous bedrooms with windows on either END of the beds... open behind the headboard to the interior space (with privacy blinds if needed) and at the footboard looking out over acres of luscious Texas cattle pasture... complete with wandering Longhorns just as gentle as they are (impressively) huge!... Kitchen is marvelous, as are the two bathrooms. Owners Debbie and Don Davis have spared no expense in up-dating this former hunter's cabin to accommodate the most discerning travelers and their cohort of adult family and friends. So many adventures to pursue around this 1800 acre property, but the cabin itself if hard to leave once you settle in to its intoxicating ambiance of age-old tradition and modern convenience. Did I mention the lovely pollinator garden or the spacious front porch from which you can watch the winged world of birds and insects float around just waiting to star in your telephoto lens masterpiece? There's no hunting on the property, so it's safe to hike or mountain bike the miles of trails crisscrossing land where the cattle (not buffalo) quietly roam. Quiet, by the way is the prevailing mood as the Cabin is some miles from any main road and even further from the nearest town, Tarpley, which is nonetheless charming and accessible. The beds are all incredibly comfortable...even the pull out sofa is a memory foam mattress!! The grounds are fantastic including privacy, shade, firepits/grills, and swings on each cabin. Then there's the pool+pavilion area that was just put in. Once that area is fully done it will be even more magical. When considering places to stay in Concan, I HIGHLY recommend Hunters Ridge Cabins.
