My step daughters went to her for years. All she does is push drugs, especially antibiotics. Awful

I left the practice after 1000hours of debate and now I've come back. I've got the MILF of a doc, Kari Tannenbaum. http://www.enh.org/apps/findadoctor/doctor.aspx?docid=3391&lid=1789 After 2 years away from this practice I came back because another doc office was totally non-responsive when their new doc was changing fields and going back to school. I came back to north Shore for a few reasons: `Receptionist, Chris, is so sweet and pays attention when you call. `Bessinger was very helpful to me when Donna Bicknese was on vacation or leave. `Calm hood. Pretty Highland Park shopping district, parking is easy and the people are nice. Now I come across Kari Tannenbaum, she's been there for a few years but i'd only seen her maybe once during my time there. Now I'm back and she's my doc. I love her. My first "band-aid" appointment she wrote me a few scrips and explained to me that she's always on time because her time is not more valuable than mine and I respect that. I even asked her if I was late(the reason for that lecture) she said no - but wanted to be sure I understand that she's always prompt. On the way out during my band-aid appointment, i complimented her on her pink toe polish. She wrote me a Rx for that: by Esse. A birth control company. Pretty pink polish. Good stuff. Kari is blunt and wont beat around the bush. She's internal med so she can do anything - but will refer you out for Gyno.

My husband had to have a physical in order to have a surgery performed on a Thursday. We were notified of this only one week before the surgery was to take place. An appointment was made for the Tuesday just prior. First the office called and canceled our Tuesday appointment switching this to the next day (Wednesday). My husband ended up having a shorter work day than expected because they finished the job early. He had started his day at 5:00am and was back home by 11:00. He was running late getting back to Highland Park to make the 1:45 rescheduled appointment. When I called the office to make them aware they put me on the phone with the doctor herself. She proceeded to explain to me that while we were accommodating them they could not wait an extra 14 minutes for my husband to arrive. At 1:59 the doors to the building were locked and our physical incomplete. PLEASE BE AWARE THIS PRACTICE AND MOST OF ALL DR. TANNEDBAUM HAS NO CONSIDERATION FOR THEIR PAITIENTS! I will personally be seeking to report any pertinent info to the proper authorities within the NorthShore Health System to ensure there are repercussions.

Couldn't have been more pleased with the quality of care (thoroughness, knowledge, advice and outstanding communication / people skills - huge differentiator over my prior doctor). The rest of the onsite team I interacted with was terrific too - warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, efficient - all around great experience. Had a follow-up appt today via zoom. Again - great experience. Your model works great for me as I travel quite a bit and being able to get care in different locations in person, via app or video call is super important to me. Truly grateful for the excellent quality of care along with the innovation which makes getting healthcare so much easier!

Everyone knows who you are after only a couple of visits. All appointments are followed up by a thorough report on their site. I had an after hours issue that I reported by phone. The response was almost immediate. I received an email detailing what I should do if my pharmacy was closed overnight. The prescription was ready within a couple hours. The response was really impressive. I highly recommend the office.

I suffered from chronic sinus infections that were just crazy. I went to Dr. Miller expecting the usual script and and a co-pay but what a pleasant surprise I got. He was so thorough and detail oriented that he asked questions that seemed out of sync with the routine I had experienced elsewhere. He asked about my lifestyle, my pillows, my diet, well you get it....and he LISTENED. I actually now understand why doctor's corporations are called SC for "service corporations". He was providing his Medical Services. He wasn't doing me a favor by seeing me. I was giving him an opportunity to practice medicine. Lightbulb, aaahhhhh moment. Did I mention he went to Harvard Medical School. Matters not unless they teach you human compassion there. Not only did he cure that malady, he cured me of pretty much everything and during the course of a general conversation, he discovered a something that several other doctors had dismissed or negelected. Under his care and direction, I have been treated as a person, not a number and put on a path to wellness. He had given me guidance and referals that have changed my life. When I had a rough patch health wise, he was my go to guy and Dr. Miller got me through a series of unrelated, untimely and unfortunate health issues. We've since kind of broken up because he made me all better, so much so that I don't really need to see him much anymore. Not that I mind. But you know what I mean. I have refered countless people to him and each and every one raves. He moved from the city to Northbrook which is a hike, but his demeanor, candor and knowledge are worth every second on the Edens. He is kind, gentle, caring and concerned. Dr. Miller is the first physician I have encountered that practices the art of healing. How refreshing. On their website it says under his philosphy "Dr. Miller believes in a strong patient-doctor relationship and working with patients to optimize their health care" Understatement of the year. And lets not forget the support staff, Janie, his nurse. Can you say loveable and sweet. And efficient and kind. And accommodating and warm. Yep, worth every second on the Edens and then some!

He seems to be great with follow-up too--I took a chance and sent him an email through Northwestern's online dr/patient communication network, not really expecting a same-day response, but apparently these physicians really do use the online communication system (hooray! internet and no phone-holding!), he wrote back in a few hours. AND he gave me an electronic prescription I sent to the pharmacy without ever picking up the phone. Anyway, technology aside, an excellent PCP.

During my annual physical, I felt that the care provided fell significantly below the expected standard. While annual physical is supposed to be a comprehensive review of my physical health, she rushed it through in less than 10 minutes, largely checking the boxes and lack of care at all. What is worse is her abusive billing practice afterwards. I was diagnosed with an early-stage chronical disease in the past that did not require treatment. During this visit, she proactively asked about it and I immediately stopped her by saying we don't need to talk about it. Still, she billed me for an additional office visit on top of the annual physical. Just like that, no treatment, no prescription, her asking me a question and my stopping her right away, she charged me an extra office visit! Outrageous! If you are looking for a new doctor or an existing patient going back to see her, watch out closely for her billing!
