Delicious old school cooking/food. Nothing fancy or "extra". Friendly staff. I went there about an hour and a half before closing and had an omelette with hashed browns and toast and pancakes on the side. Decaf coffee. (At like 2pm! LoL) $21 but I'm fine with that. I like supporting small town local businesses.

A cute Mom & Pop shop with very friendly service. The food was Fresh made to order. It felt like going to your Aunts or Grandmas house for a homemade meal. You can see the cooks cut up your veggies in front of you to use for your breakfast meal. The Guisado is Delicious! I would definitely stop by again when I come in to town.

Lee's taco (left) and Marty's taco (right). This photo doesn't do it justice, but they were DEEE-LICIOUS!

When you're in Del Rio, TX and have a hankering for some good, home-made eats, make your way downtown to Main Street and visit Benny's Cafe. This place is a hidden gem - you'll probably drive right by if you weren't looking for it, but it's legit. Benny's atmosphere is a mix of a mid-century diner with a counter and stools and a mom-and-pop cafe with tables and booths. The menu has standard diner fare, but what caught my eye is all-day breakfast (who doesn't love all-day breakfast)? It was lunchtime, but I ordered a Lee's taco (potatoes, eggs, peppers, onions, tomatoes) and a Marty's taco (potatoes, eggs, peppers, onions, tomatoes and cheese). Each was HUGE and packed with ingredients. Fresh, crunchy veggies mixed with hot, just scrambled eggs on a warm, soft tortilla. You can tell each taco is made with care. Definitely worth it, I highly recommend Benny's for anyone looking for a friendly place with good food in Del Rio!

This was a great stop! Such a cute diner downtown. Met some really nice people in there. We loved our authentic migas and chilaquiles breakfast. The coffee was also great!

A real slice of Americano right on the Mexican border. Food would you die for and the service was even better. Locally owned and operated. Everything was made to order from scratch using old family recipes. Tried And true. If you are looking for a local restaurant with flair, taste and style have no excuse for not visiting here. Pancakes were very good.

Benny's has apparently been around since 1980 and I have somehow never been! It's a cute little old fashion dinner on Main Street that serves up everything from cheap, greasy burgers to your typical tex-mex staples. I was told to try the cheese burger and a guisado, bean and cheese burrito, so that is exactly what I did. It was a strange combo, but I left stuffed to the brim and happy. The burger was good, but I would have to say the guisado taco was the winner. It had great flavor and was enormous. I am going to have to go back for their breakfast next time I'm in town. Service was friendly, but not overly helpful. Half of the staff was sitting at the counter eating lunch themselves. Be aware, they only accept cash and I don't think there is an ATM anywhere very close by.

We chose this spot based on the Yelp reviews and I must say this is the first time in years that we've been disappointed. Most neat cafes have a bunch of people in them. Not this one. Empty. The food was just okay. She got my order wrong so my husband ended up with 4 eggs which made his breakfast passable. His Huevos Rancheros were not the best. Sorry Benny. You have a long way to go to live up to your other reviews.

Great breakfast spot - sort of a time warp to the late 50s/early 60s. I particularly liked their hash browns and Texas toast.

Our group decided to stop in for the Seafood Buffet after whomever answered the phone had said Friday was indeed Seafood Buffet night. The restaurant was full, and seemed to be set up for the usual, however after a 10 minute wait at our booth for service, we were informed the cook had called off. This wasn't our first experience at Malinda's, the breakfast buffet on weekends, and the few other times we dined at the Seafood Buffet, pretty much solidified this place as a decent place in Del Rio. After perusing the insanely priced menu for very typical American, Mexican bar grub, we decided to leave for somewhere else. Not a big deal that we spent money elsewhere, having your business dependent on a, or the only cook reflects poorly on the establishment, and those who are in charge of the operation.

We stopped in for lunch Monday right at noon, and the parking lot was empty, and we ended up being the only ones in the dining room which kind of surprised me. The menu isn't overwhelming but has a nice offering of good Mexican food. Mondays special was enchiladas which I ordered, and my friend ordered the Tacos Rojos. My plate of beef enchiladas was plenty for lunch and just the right amount of food for $8.95. The three enchiladas were fork tender covered with red sauce and melted cheese, a scoop of beans and rice on the side with a bit of lettuce and chopped tomatoes made for a nice-looking plate. The ground beef enchiladas were nothing fancy but still good. My friends three Tacos Rojos looked equally good, red taco shells with ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and sides of beans and rice. There was a side dish of tasty green salsa which I put on everything. Service was friendly at the counter, and the overall experience was one of the better ones I've had in Del Rio. I've heard about the Guisado which I was looking forward to trying but will have another chance before leaving Del Rio for good.
