Good, hometown Tex-Mex food. If you have a good sense of humor and don't mind some of the characters we've got you'll feel right at home.

I really wanted to like The Local Fix, but this was honestly one of the worst meals I've had in a…read morelong time. The food was terrible from start to finish. The rice was crunchy, the lettuce was brown, the tomatoes tasted old, and the chicken had this strange mustard flavor that completely ruined the dish. The bread was dry, the tortillas were practically raw, and the "quesadillas" weren't even quesadillas. The only good thing on my plate were the beans, and that's saying a lot. On top of that, there are no vegan options, even though Yelp claimed they did. I asked for vegetable fajitas, and they looked at me like I had two heads, like it was the weirdest request they'd ever heard. They definitely do NOT have vegetarian or vegan options, and they made no effort to accommodate any dietary needs. The asparagus and broccolini came out raw with zero seasoning. Nothing about our meal was enjoyable. If you want actual Mexican food, you're better off going to Taco Bell at this point. The Local Fix definitely did NOT fix us....now I need to go find some real food. Would not recommend this place at all, especially if you have any dietary restrictions.

The moment you walk in the door you can feel positive vibes. Great decorations, all kinds of coffee, delicious food (both savory and sweet), all served with a smile... After no sleep the night before, and 6 hours on the road driving from the Rio Grande Valley, I needed exactly what the sign says: to "Relax, Renew & Revive". Turns out they delivered on all three! I was reminded of the Cheer's TV theme song, "where everybody knows your name," because as I sat there, most everyone who came in was greeted by their name and was known by the staff. People are people, not numbers at Revive. In fact, even the tables have names rather than numbers! Yep, each table has its own name reflected by the decorations which all blend together somehow in an ecclectic harmony of positivity and warmth. I loved the bicycle table (yes, made from an actual bicycle!), the Star Wars table, and also those with themes like faith and love (who doesn't need more of that this year!). It is obvious the owners have a sense of humor, and their signs of quips and quotes scattered throughout the shoppe are sure to bring a smile to your face. I especially identified with the sign that says, "All I need today is a little coffee, and a whole lot of Jesus!" (Don't we all?) It's definitely a family friendly atmosphere, and a great place to meet with friends or co-workers. I was impressed with the cleanliness, from the tables, kitchen to the bathroom. Great job. I was surprised by the menu and the offerings of fresh food! Why would anyone want to go to their big competition which only has prepackaged, frozen food warmed up in a microwave, when you can go to Revive Coffee Shop for real fresh delicious food, cooked right there... and at very reasonable prices??? I really enjoyed my cappuccino and some delicious chilaquiles (with chicken and egg) for lunch. The serving was so generous my only disappointment was I couldn't eat one of their famed desserts I had heard about... They have all the other specialty coffees, frappe's, espresso, mocha, you name it, as well as specialty teas... oh yeah, AND free WiFi! Revive Coffee Shop is definitely on my "return to" list. I really enjoyed my visit and know you will too. They are located on Hwy. 277 about 4/10ths of a mile east of Veteran's Blvd, on the south side of the highway. Look for the low building with the orange awning.

Seems to me it was a lighter roast with a fruity aromas. Oscar, the owner, said they bring their coffee from Veracruz, Mexico. My drink was not on the menu, but when I asked for iced coffee they had cold brew ready to go. Don't be afraid to ask if you have questions, the staff is super friendly and will help you out. Ps They have live music on Friday!

***ENGLISH REVIEW*** We got 2 fraps and 2 breakfast sandwiches. The food & drinks were good. I gave them 3 stars because this is the 2nd time we come and the customer service lacks big time. At the register was a young lady with glasses and she saw us struggling to order because the menu is all over the walls; and instead of offering to help, she laughed at us. Also we had our daughters with us and the whole time she kept looking at us like if we were bothering them; there was literally NO ONE there for you to say that kids were killing the "vibe." We did not feel welcomed at all. We will for sure not return. This place is not family friendly. I think they felt like we were I guess too old to be at this hip youthful place? My advice to them is to offer an option for a readable hard copy menu, that would be really helpful for the "older" generation. Also to work on employee customer service skills.

The Platter comes with you choice of 5 meats, 4 sides, a pretzel and a strudel of your choosing. We got the chicken schnitzel, the pork schnitzel, the currywurst, the beef brat and the country brat. For sides we chose the cucumber salad, red cabbage, potato salad and cheese spatzel. For dessert we opted for the apple strudel. Her favorite was the currywusrt (her first time have it) and mine was the country brat, but everything was simply delicious and did I mention fresh? The pretzel and the strudel are made fresh in house, as is the schnitzel. We'll definitely come back, in fact I am already planning to get some riding buddies together to ride out just for lunch.
