They either cut it funky or uneven. After researching client pics we decided to give Jaz a try. I booked an appointment for the weekend thru The Cut app and got a same day confirmation. We brought a picture of the style we were going for. Jaz was great at talking thru the cut and some options. He took his time and made my son feel at ease. The whole vibe is relaxed and welcoming. Definitely family friendly (not always typical in Boston). We left happy with the cut and excited to have a local barber we can now count on!! Loooove the app too- so nice to have an appointment time vs going and having to sit wasting hours for a spot! Highly recommend Jaz! Update: 5/15/18 Took my other son tonight. Jaz did an amazing job! My son LOVES the cut and was actually excited to show his friends at school tomorrow!

I moved out of Boston a long time ago, but as someone born in Cambridge, it was a trip down memory lane. My father grew up around the corner and started coming here when he was very young and when I was old enough, he brought me here, too. Heck, my two brothers got their haircut here as well - for decades. Eddie always gave a solid haircut and a very good straight razor shave, so I was excited to see he was still in business when I rolled into town needing a beard trim and a back of the neck shave. The inside of the place is old school barber shop. It still has the same interior as did in the 1980's - probably that way looked the 60's and 70's, too. Anyway, the beard trim was excellent. Eddie is a real practitioner of his trade. He took his time and made sure it was a job done right. He also cleaned up the sides of my head with the scissors and cleaned up my neck with a straight razor with precision. If you live in the Central Square area and want an excellent, no-nonsense haircut, shave or beard trim, head on over to Eddie Priest.

I was charged in full anyway, and told any future booking would require prepayment, a policy I'd never once heard mentioned in 4-5 prior visits. A year later I gave them another shot. Booked with Jill Martin, appointment confirmed. One hour before my 5pm slot: a text canceling on me, citing "the issue in May of 2025." No call. No conversation. When I asked why, the answer was that she didn't like my "energy" and "vibe" -- nothing concrete, nothing that happened that day. If that was a real concern, it should have surfaced before confirming my booking, not sixty minutes before I was due to arrive. The owner offered zero accountability when I raised this directly. This isn't a policy dispute. It's a pattern of treating paying clients as disposable. Skip this shop, and skip Jill Martin specifically.
