Told them it was wrong and asked for a martini instead. When that finally came with the "manager" crystal calls me rude and decides to make excuses for slow service being short staffed when there are 10 servers on the floor. The only good thing to say is the sweet tea is good........ when you can get your glass filled. The food was served cold and the waitress never came back. I had to carry my plates to the kitchen and ask for a hot meal. The waitress got an attitude saying that the cooks told her to tell me that a French dip isn't "like steak" and isn't cooked to temp. So I guess food is supposed to be served cold on the grill. They would rather argue over a technical term and get snarky than cook their food properly to avoid food born pathogens that make people sick. The meat was dry, and had to be left overs, that au jus didn't even help either. The Brussels sprouts were just a pile of greasy crumbs served like a congealed pudding. The waitress just had to serve me a hot meal and I would have been happy. Just left here 5 minutes ago...Lacy with the headband is the slowest and most incompetent waitress I have been served by in a long time!! We sat down and my husband ordered a lemonade and I ordered a Sam Adams seasonal...husband was brought his lemonade almost immediately, I waited 25 minutes before finally flagging down Lacy, and asked again for my drink. Was then told that they had run out of Sam Adams on draft!! She never tried to follow up or tell me that so I could make a different choice and seemed to be content with the fact that I had not been served. Slow service followed the rest of the stay, though we only ordered a small salad, no other food. We were out of towners with a 4 hour drive home so I was very disappointed that what was supposed to be a short stop for drinks took longer than 1 hour!! I also felt very disrespected. Always look forward to stopping in on my way west to Pecos. Stopped in today around 12:30. Wasn't too busy at all. Wasn't greeted at all by the hostess who finally came to the front after I saw him horsing around in the back. Food was alright but had to get up every time to find someone to get me refill. That happened multiple times as the waitress never came around to check on me other than to bring my initial order. Had to ask repeatedly for a to go box as well. My job allows me to travel to all corners of Texas, all the way to Monahans, TX. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Bennigans next to my hotel. I haven't been to one in a long time, they have closed so many locations. Well, I see why. I was there on a Wednesday night, not busy at 5:40 pm. Many empty tables; I sat alone. Ordered a glass of wine and water. Brought me a very small pour. Listen, I have an occasional glass out of town and I know what a restaurant pour is, this was a fraction of that. I ordered a ceasar salad with my meal. Picture of that hideous gray lettuce monstrosity below. My chicken dish took 53 minutes. Yes. That's right. Slow night, alone, ordered a chicken dish that took 53 minutes. If it wasn't for my second wine I ordered, I would have gone to McDonalds next door. Save yourself, go somewhere else. Anywhere else. This is a very nice, clean restaurant. It has potential with the right team. We sat at the bar and my husband ordered a beer. The bartender told him he had to order food to get a bar as it was before noon on Sunday. He ordered a water and appetizer trio and I ordered the quesadilla with a Diet Coke. It took forever to get our Diet and water! The bartender was slicing limes and there were several other waitresses at the food window chatting. (The restaurant was not busy). For some reason, my food was brought out to me but not my husband's food. I needed sour cream, but the bartender had disappeared. Another customer came and sat at the bar and ordered a beer and he was told the same thing so he ordered a beer and a burger. My husband got her attention and told her I needed sour cream. I finally got it about 5-6 minutes later. My husband got his food and had to remind her about his beer. The other patron got his food and told them he no longer wanted his beer. The food was pretty good and visually appealing. The service was awful! We will probably not return. Lunch for 2 was $33.00. read more

I wish this was in Dallas-Fort Worth would bring this back. All I can say is thanks for bringing back memories. Bennigan's was a part of my life in the '80s and '90s. I ordered the Monte Cristo and Irish Coffee, to which was primo. FYI... Tabitha was my server. She had a GREAT personality and was spot-on with maintaining my table. Arrived during the dinner rush on a Thursday. Was seated immediately. Hostess was very polite and well dressed. I had a drink within 5-7minutes. My waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. Table was clean. I had the 8oz sirloin steak with broccoli and green beans. Broccoli was a little undercooked but had a great taste. Green beans were perfect. We came here before we had a game in Monahans. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before we had to ask the hostess if she knew who our sever was. Our waitress was not attentive at all and her section was just sitting there waiting on her. She never came back after she brought our drinks. We were SO excited to see a Bennigan's again! We were traveling and actually drove out of our way to have dinner in Monahans. Sadly, the Bennigan's we remembered from years ago wasn't what we experienced. When we arrived, there were a couple of table occupied, no one standing at the front/hostess area. We stood and watched a cluster of employees chatting in the back of the restaurant but NO ONE acknowledged us in any way. My husband went to the bar and asked if we could be seated. The bartender called an employee over. This was the start of our very disappointing visit. We were taken to a table with crumbs all over it. No problem, we don't mind wiping it down ourselves...things happen. It took forever to us to get our drinks. Our server was very sweet but not service oriented. The food took around an hour to come. We thought the ticket was misplaced at some point. In their defense, the restaurant did become busier after we were seated. However, it was not THAT busy. When our food finally arrived, it was warm and not hot. Lack luster...nothing to get excited about. Our glasses weren't refilled until we asked for more tea. We watched the young employees stand around and chat while people around us grumbled about lack of service, long wait times, etc. Where is the management? We actually had 3 employees bus the table (it was still dirty when they finished) next to us and heard the entire conversation about the young girls breakup. Not because we were eaves dropping but because they were so loud. Bad language and personal info that no one wants to hear on a night out. Overall, I'll say it was more of a sad experience. We, like many others, have great memories of Bennigan's. This COULD be a really successful business if they had proper management. read more

I REALLY wanted to like this place since there aren't many good restaurants to choose from in Monahans. My daughter and I went to eat here with my twin grand babies for lunch about a week after they first opened for business. The hostess, waitress, and person at the front door were very, very nice as well as the manager. The front of the house staff really deserves 5 stars but the kitchen staff and food ruined it. The problem is the food and the time it took to receive our food. The cooks were double cooking orders, sending out wrong orders, etc. We were there for two hours by the time we received all of our food. The babies' food came out LAST and we put their order in with the appetizer so we could go ahead and feed them BEFORE our food came out. We ended up having to feed them crackers and food from our plates until their food was delivered to the table. My daughter didn't get the correct hamburger that she ordered but ate it anyway. My fish and fries were not very good. The fries tasted and felt undercooked. The cole slaw tasted like pure ONIONS!! I was very disappointed in the experience that day. The only thing that made it to where I didn't go off on someone was the extremely nice waitress. Oh yea... I know Monahans and the surrounding areas have LOTS of flies, BUT the window by our table was COVERED in flies. They kept flying around our food and drinks and were soooooo annoying!! I think there's got to be something management or corporate could do to fix that problem. It was DISGUSTING!!
