Her blood sugar was 300 and rising, and she had her insulin pump and insulin with her, but needed a simple syringe and needle to administer insulin. We were met with complete rudeness and zero compassion. We understand that providing syringes without a prescription is ultimately at the pharmacy's discretion, but insulin syringes are available over the counter at most pharmacies. She has never had a pharmacy refuse her in an emergency like this, especially when it is obvious she is a type 1 diabetic with a pump that can literally show her current blood sugar. After rushing to town with urgency, then being met with this by this pharmacy, costed us even more time- and her blood sugar was at 400 by the time we finally found someone to generously help us. I understand policies, but there is a huge difference between following a policy and showing basic compassion to a Type 1 diabetic whose blood sugar is 300+ and climbing. We were simply asking for a basic medical supply during an emergency--not asking for anything inappropriate or controlled. Very disappointing experience, and the attitude we received made it even worse. Very bad first impression of Winchester Tn.

I'll answer, yes it is. You take care of all problems with the insurance company that are small and easy to fix. ALL OF THEM. Know why? Because none of that is transparent to the customer. None!! This place hired a new person to be the face of smart alec remarks too. She will plainly tell you, she doesn't care about your pain to your face. If you're in need of a good pharmacy, with a once in a while complex prescription, don't go here. They like easy to fill, zero problems, and pushover customers. They don't know how to fix your problem and they won't tell you how to fix it either. Need to go to Columbus, Indiana and look at how a real CVS runs. You all don't belong in this business. No empathy or compassion.

Evaluation of Pharmacy services at Marcrom Pharmacy - full disclosure - I have been a pharmacist…read morefor 45 years and worked in every environment pharmacy offers from pure clinical services, inpatient, outpatient, large teaching medical centers, small and deployed hospitals and served the pharmacist in charge of all Air Force pharmacies late in my military care. I've worked in chain and independent pharmacies and civilian hospitals. The one thing that is key in delivering pharmaceutical care is to maintain focus on the patient. If your focus shifts from the patient to "the process" or insurance or any other "distractor" then that's when things usually start to run afoul. I have had three encounters with Marcrom's Pharmacy, two for the annual flu vaccine and one for a couple of acute care medications to treat an infection. The flu vaccine visits were very favorable with a professional and efficient staff. The acute care visit left room for much improvement. I was prescribed an oral antibiotic and a topical antibiotic ointment to treat an infection as a result of a medical procedure. The oral antibiotic was filled on the day it was prescribed. However, the topical (wound care) antibiotic ointment prescribed was not in stock. This is where things broke down from a pharmaceutical care perspective. First, there was no engagement from the pharmacist on how or what the patient (me) should do in the absence on this wound care med. Fortunately, I knew I had some over-the-counter ointment at home to get me through, but a non-medical person may not have known this and not known what to do. This could have been a significant wound care issue. Second, the clerk assured me they would notify me when the out-of-stock medicine came in. This did not happen. On day three I tried to call, got no answer, only to be point to their texting capability which I did. I texted them and asked if the ointment had been received and FILLED and to please advise. They responded, "Sorry about that! We do have that here whenever you would like to pick it up. Thanks!" Finally, when I arrived to pick up the prescription, that I had specifically asked in my text was "filled," the medication was not ready, and I waited for 40 minutes. They have a "will call" system so I know they fill medications for patients before they arrive, so patients do not have to wait but that wasn't the case for me. I asked the clerk if she would like my feedback and she listened politely, took my name and that's the last I heard. It's unfortunate this is a presentation of my profession, I know there are pharmacies out there who do keep the patient as the focus. I guess I'm still looking for one in Manchester.

However, the spotty customer service makes me hesitate to recommend it at all. I've been here numerous times and experienced really rude and unprofessional service (e.g. I've personally been and seen others be judged and berated at the photo counter when picking up items "late" i.e. within a week or less of placing the order). Sometimes customer service has been nice or fine, though (e.g. one time the photo department called me when they found my photo order, which I appreciated - since when I went to pick it up the first time, they didn't find it). I return here for the location only, but I wish for a more consistently cordial (if not friendly) and efficient experience.

The Downtown Nashville Walgreens…read more In my estimation, this is the one and only Walgreens in Downtown Nashville that is accessible to Broadway. Disparate from other Walgreens that I am familiar with in major tourist centers, this location is underwhelming for alcohol and souvenirs. With regards to this review, I am using "The Daniel. S Yelp Real Time Feature" where I write from my first-hand journaling experience. "June 24, 2025: We are bound for Walgreens. Walking through the Assembly Food Hall we cut off some of the uphill climb up John Lewis Way that is bothering Dad's knees. Now walking up John Lewis Way we are passing by the historic Woolworth Theater and what looks like a Theater District. At the crest of the hill, we step inside the only downtown Nashville Walgreens. At least the only one I am familiar with near Broadway. This store is "blah" in comparison to the Walgreens that I am familiar with in major cities such as Las Vegas, Chicago, San Francisco, and Denver. Their Nashville caps are overpriced and fail to strike me. They fail to carry the bullet beer (24 ounce cans) that I want to pick up for the hotel room. However, they have cold beverages and snacks that my Dad and Brother are buying. I am headed to Starbucks for my beverage. Toi, who rings up my Dad and Brother, is a friendly and personable Cashier. When we return to the what looks like a Theater District along John Lewis Way, being empty handed of purchases allows me to photograph the Woolworth Theater." My "Real Time Yelp First-hand Feature" elucidates that the Downtown Nashville Walgreens deserves Three Stars.

That's was great, but wait there's more! After confirming it in stock, I told the pharmacist that I had to call my pharmacy and transfer it to sure save.
