Normally I don't have anything bad to say about this Walgreens, but what happened to my wife there on July 4th, was unacceptable. Walgreens had sale prices on beer for the 4th of July so my wife decided to purchase some for our upcoming vacation trip to Florida. When she attempted to check out, the cashier told her she could not sell her the beer because it was a holiday and it would be illegal to do so. My wife was surprised and the cashier actually proceeded to speak about how she thought it was a good idea and she supported not selling beer on holidays. This made my wife uncomfortable and the cashier embarrassed her. She came home and informed me about what had happened. We researched Tennessee law and verified the cashier/clerk was wrong about the law. I called the store to inform them they had made a mistake and the first person I spoke with proceeded to argue with me and laughed at me when I told her she was wrong about the Tennessee law regarding beer sales on a holiday. I then asked to speak with the store manager and I explained to her what had happened to my wife. She then tried to explain what happened by saying it was against Walgreens policy to sell beer on a holiday. I told her she should check the law again. I then called other Walgreens in the area and discovered all of them were indeed selling beer on July 4th. In fact, many of the Walgreens employees I spoke with laughed at me for asking the question. Please do your homework Walgreens and follow the law in the future, and I ask that your employees not make fun of customers who simply are trying to make a valid point about something you did wrong. My wife did not deserve the embarrassment she received from the cashier and she certainly did not need to hear the cashier's opinion about selling the beer. read more
