I had my bridal shower at the indoor venue area there and I couldn't have been happier! The staff was super helpful with getting everything set up and telling us where to go. The space was very clean and they set up tables and chairs before we got there! The communication prior to the event was amazing and they had fast replies. Sarah was super helpful and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The venue seemed to be a little difficult for guests to find but everyone got there and the staff was willing to help them. We also paid the plant decoration fee and it was beautiful and definitely worth the extra and they let us pick the colors and the windows look out into the nursery! Definitely recommend using this space as a venue! Thank you so much! read more

I've been so pleased with the information I'm learning each time I ask their staff about planting and caring for my yard. The nursery staff has taught me about which plants can tolerate which conditions and the plant pharmacy people taught me about which type of fertilizer to use when during the growing season for my vegetables. The greenhouse people helped me choose just the right plants for the right amount of sun around my house. I used to think this was the high end plant shop but their everyday prices on flats and veggies are super, and the recent weekend sales have been amazing. read more

They have everything that you want & need to make your landscapes beautiful, with knowledgeable employees.

Everyone at Bennett's is extremely helpful and friendly. We walked in and were immediately greeted and helped, which made searching for house plants that are sturdy for indoor offices a smooth experience. Knowing that winter is fast approaching, we wanted to make our home a little greener for a warmer feel. We were able to purchase our plants, pot, and soil all in one trip. There is a wide selection of indoor/outdoor plants and all things landscaping. The staff are more than willing to share how to care for them so that whatever you purchase will thrive. Don't worry if you don't find the right sized plant on your first visit, because they regularly restock! read more

Bennett's Greenhouse - This is my dragon tree! - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Lafayette, Indiana

I'm not an expert on nurseries and have only visited a few in my life, and on top of that, I am new in town, so I don't really have an idea of whether their prices are reasonable and if their selection is competitive vs. other nurseries/stores in the area. That being said, they do have a really good selection of indoor and outdoor plants, succulents and herbs. I did think that for a nursery, the prices were a little on the higher end (some of their succulent prices were comparable to what I've seen in supermarkets, which kind of defeats the purpose of a nursery I think). They didn't have a great variety of pots etc. and not a lot of bonsai, from what I can recall. Staff were friendly, things were pretty easy to find and it's a fun shopping experience. read more

Bennett's Greenhouse - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Lafayette, Indiana

Bennett's is the place to come for all things lawn, garden & plant related! They have lots of parking and a huge display outside as well as in the greenhouse. There is a small gift shop with birdfeeders, bird baths, statues and more. They also have every flower pot or vase you could need. We have bought seeds from them many times and their garden starts are always good! Everyone (and I mean everyone) that works here is extremely knowledgeable and will help you pick plants based on your soil, sun, spacing etc. They have a great guarantee on trees & bushes too. Their prices are very reasonable but their expertise is exceptional! read more

Love to peruse here when I'm in town they have a nice variety much better than what I see in a lot of plant shops. I did bring home one plant that had some mealy bugs but that can happen almost anywhere and I always quarantine before mixing in new plants, but a heads up. Certainly should have checked better but I wasn't paying attention. Regardless it certainly didn't stop me and I have gotten some really nice plants at great deals here. Highly recommend you check it out! read more

I love greenhouse, plant farms, nurseries. I am an avid, learning gardener and my SO and I seek out new places to go whenever possible. We wandered in here a few days ago after a doctors trip to Lafayette and we were both pleasantly surprised. He loved the "plant pharmacy" and I loved the variety of roses and perennials outside. There was a nice area inside with gifts and garden decor and even graveside and silk flowers. The staff was kind and helpful and the variety and healthiness of plant life was endless. I only rated 4 stars because I felt they were a tad bit pricey but I would not hesitate to make future purchases simply because the variety was so incredible. read more

I recently moved away from Indiana, and it made me realize how perfect this place was. The selection. The prices. The assorted foliage. The ferns. The jade. All of it. The greenhouse feeling. I miss this place so much. It was perfect. read more

I'm a flower person so I visit nurseries on a regular basis. There are a few that I love and Bennett's is one of them. Bennett's is the place I go when I am serious about finding a large variety of healthy flowers, trees, shrubs....everything I need, they have. What makes Bennett's a step above the rest, aside from their large variety, is their customer service. They always have knowledgeable staff on hand who seem to have a knack for zoning in on clueless customers and helping out in any way they can. If, on the rare occasion, they cannot answer a question, they will FIND the answer for you. On the down side, their selection is SO large, I always spend too much money there!!! read more

I have shopped at Bennett's for many years. I like the selection but have watched the prices climb. Today I asked a young woman where a specific plant might be; she did not recognize the name (vanilla marigold) and I think that she said that she would ask. Several minutes later I saw her and asked her what she discovered and she was not remembering what plant I had asked about. Guess I bothered her today. read more

I am very disappointed that the staff do not wear masks nor do most of the customers. There is no enforcement or encouragement of social distancing. Additionally the selection is very picked through at this time. All of this seems to be irritating the staff as they were also quite rude. I left without a purchase and will not return until business practices follow the health recommendations from the CDC and WHO. read more

If you want good plant material for landscape jobs or residential purchases, Bennett's is capable to delivering decent specimens and once in a while may pay enough to retain knowledgeable staff, but you can expect to pay twice as much retail price there as opposed to Robbie Lockhart's Branching Out Nursery on Klondike Road. (My most recent example of sticker shock would be a 3-gallon container fothergilla plant which cost $43 at Bennett's', $23 at Branching Out, same condition). Robbie can order what you need; Bennett's staff acts like you're a pain in a the butt holding up their line in the garden shop. As someone who regularly specifies plant and landscape material for commercial and institutional projects, I have been somewhat disappointed at the prices and services expected to maintain the Bennett name - too much overhead and not enough local competition, I suppose. read more

We love Bennett's. The variety is great. My 12 year wants to go all the time. Thank you for emphasizing social distancing instead of masks! Freedom is much appreciated read more

Several days ago I submitted a review about an unsatisfactory customer service. Bennett's responded that they would make things right. Yes they did!! They listened to my concerns, and offered me 2 choices to be compensated - both were entirely fair and generous. I am thankful to have such a beautiful place to shop for quality plants with caring and knowledgeable staff! read more

Wonderful selection on plants and materials to keep those plants healthy and happy! I am always pleased with my experiences here. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. Suggest coming here if you're a fan of beautiful plants and flowers read more

Accept for a few of the low level employees, I've never had good service or a fair hand shake on doing business with this company. Just one bad experience after another. I will never do business with them again. The greenhouse supervisor and manager have no concept of customer service. read more

What can you say? They have everything to fill your green thumb desires and more. I know that when making a trip here, I will be there awhile. There is someone at every corner to answer questions and help you find what you need. The staff is very knowledgeable and the flowers and plants are exquisite. I wouldn't go anywhere else in town for my gardening needs. read more

This review is for their landscaping department, not their wonderful nursery or garden shop. We turned to them to build two retaining walls for us 5 years ago. Already the tall wall is at a very obvious angle and the more it leans, the more I believe that their great reputation doesn't apply to their landscaping unit. When you spend so much money, you expect it to last! read more

This place has a fantastic selection of anything you could think of. I have gone here a few times and I usually walk out with more than I thought I would. Very nice staff and great layout. read more

This is a great place to find indoor and outdoor plants. They offer a huge selection of well maintained, healthy plants. The staff were friendly and helpful. Their prices are the best you will find around the area. Significantly better than the big box store while also offer better quality plants. One nice thing is that they offer a money back guarantee if the plant doesn't live past a certain time frame from when you buy it. You won't find that guarantee at any of the chain retailers. This is definitely a must visit business whether you are looking for a few house plants or want to landscape your entire yard. read more

This is my "happy place". They have a large selection of beautiful flowers and trees. I highly recommended it.

Cannot say enough good things about Bennett's! We have used them several times and have been amazed by not only the quality of the plants but even more so, the customer service! We have family in Lafayette but live in Charleston, SC. This past week we bought a lilac bush for my sister-in-law's birthday and the pics she sent were gorgeous. If you get lucky enough to be waited on by Brian, I promise you, you're in good hands! Not only did he spend a lengthy amount of time on the phone with me, he also picked a gorgeous tree and was kind enough to go out into the nursery and send me a picture to my cell phone to make sure I was pleased with my purchase! Then Jennifer in floral was so sweet to add a beautiful bow (as the lilac was beyond its bloom time) and add a card. Talk about above and beyond!! My sister-in-law was so touched and y'all made it happen! Thank you so very much! read more

First time in today and I think it's my new favorite place. Everyone I spoke with was super helpful, knowledgable, and patient. The quality of the plants was spectacular. The service even more so. read more

I've been a happy, satisfied customer of Bennett's Greenhouse for (hard to believe!) 60 years. It is THE place to shop locally for bedding plants, perennials, herbs and every other growing thing for the home and garden. The variety is unmatched anywhere else in the area. This is an independent, family owned business, operating since the late 1800's. That alone tells you something about their quality, selection and service. And they're open year round! We just introduced our five year old granddaughter to the wonders of Bennetts this spring. Another generation to enjoy this wonderful place. read more

We spent over $500 there because they offered a one year guarantee on the plants. We bought in the Spring. By the time the next Spring had come around we noticed a plant did not make it through the winter. Took the dead plant in and found out they would not honor the guarantee without the original receipt. We had to keep the original receipt from 11 months earlier? That is hard to do. And the know it. It is almost like they count on customers misplacing receipts within the one-year time frame. I showed them the actual credit card bill that showed all the details, but they would not accept it. Asked them to cross-reference everything on my credit card bill versus their own database as that would prove that I bought it there. They said they cannot do that (or won't do that). Technically, they are correct, we no longer had the in-store receipt. But we definitely showed them proof (in the form of the credit card bill) that we bought it from them. I am disappointed they would not work with me. The plant they sold me did not make it through the winter. Now I have to buy another replacement plant. It will not be from this place. Never again. I have literally spent thousands there through the years. But, there will be no more future $$$ spent there. I cannot recommend this establishment. read more
