    I received my flowers as a gift. I wasn't home at the time, but the driver called me to let me know I had received flowers and that they were left protected on the front porch. They are beautifully arranged and very fresh!

    This is what I ordered, not what I got

    I got the "exquisite "arrangement that cost well over $150. The person that received the flowers sent me a photo. It was very tall, but it was probably the most sparse, scraggly looking arrangement I have ever spent money on. It was like ordering from Wish- definitely not what I thought I was getting for the price. I called to talk about my dissatisfaction, and the person who took the call at Roth florist had no interest in what I had to say and kept interrupting me, saying "you got the full value". I will never use them again.

    I have never posted a review, especially negative, of any service or business in my life until right now. It was my first time using a florist, short of purchasing a boutonniere for formal events, so I was new to the experience. My brother was getting married in an intimate courthouse ceremony and he and his wife asked me to cover the flowers. She sent me a screenshot of the bouquet she wanted off Pinterest to match her red dress for the post Christmas day ceremony. I called Roth's and explained to the husband owner that I would be driving from IL to IN early on the 26th and would stop in right before the ceremony to pick up the flowers. We went back and forth on multiple options and in the end decided to go with all roses in the bouquet (quoted $125), no carnations (quoted $100), and a single red rose boutonniere to match. Since this was my understanding, I did not question when my credit card was charged $153.00 on 12/17/19, nine days prior to picking up the flowers. Upon pick up, I questioned why the boutonniere was a white rose, not red. The husband said that he wrote down white rose for it and has been doing this for 54 years, so he does not make mistakes like that. I distinctly recall saying red...why would I want white when the bride's theme and dress were dark red? I let that slide and pointed outed out the white rose stem sticking out of the bouquet at the bottom about 2". He said it was supposed to be like that. Since I was on a schedule, I had to take the flowers and go. I did not have time to argue about the colors of all the flowers being too bright/wrong, the bouquet including carnations, or the sloppiness of the stem sticking out. Especially since it was clear the husband already had a response for the 2 comments I even attempted to make. There was a card in the box that stated if you were not happy with your arrangements to call. I waited 24 hours to calm down and called. I requested a copy of my receipt from the wife and explained my grievances the next day. There must have been a technical error because they told me they sent the receipt to 2 of my emails, but I could not find it in the inbox or spam/junk folders. The wife told me her husband would have to call me back since he took the order and did the arrangement. Both of them gave me attitude about not receiving the receipt. I have 3 engineering degrees...I know how to check my inbox, spam, junk, and deleted folders. It was simply a technical error that was no one's fault, definitely not the customer's. I waited the weekend and decided to send a polite text to the husband at the number he had given me, to send the Pinterest bouquet photo he was supposed to match, explaining that I had not gotten the receipt yet and would appreciate a screenshot of the one I initialed. He sent me back the receipt with 2 very long, defensive texts. I found this very unprofessional and immediately called instead of starting an inappropriate, immature texting conversation. He requested I called the land line, so I did. He stated that the flowers came in brighter than they anticipated. I said I would have appreciated a call so that I could source a bouquet more similar to what the bride would have wanted instead of being prematurely charged and not told about bright red and pink roses over dark red and light pink. The husband was very abrasive and rude on the phone saying that pictures can almost never be matched. I asked him why I was not told this upfront while ordering then? Next, I asked why carnations were included when I requested only roses be used and he said to try and match color. I believe it cheapened the look of the bouquet and it was not what I, or the bride, wanted. He was very combative and asked what I wanted out of the call. I said that a card was placed in my flower box with contact information if the customer was not pleased, so I was following up. He never told me the carnations were thrown in extra on top of the rose bouquet charge of $125; therefore, I was under the impression that I should have been charged $100, not $125. Overall, the bouquet did not look similar enough to me. I feel that I was told I was wrong multiple times as the CUSTOMER and was only spoken to with a raised voice from the husband. I pointed this out to him because I was speaking calmly and politely. He apologized and then proceeded to attack and use a raised voice. When I tried to speak, he would speak over me. I ended the call by saying "Thank you for your time, but I cannot be spoken to like this any longer" and hung up. Nothing was resolved and it is some of the worst customer service I have ever received. I will not be using them again and sincerely believe you should source your flowers elsewhere. If this were my wedding, I would be very upset as a bride to not receive what I anticipated and paid for the morning of the ceremony.

That being said, they do have a really good selection of indoor and outdoor plants, succulents and herbs. I did think that for a nursery, the prices were a little on the higher end (some of their succulent prices were comparable to what I've seen in supermarkets, which kind of defeats the purpose of a nursery I think). They didn't have a great variety of pots etc. and not a lot of bonsai, from what I can recall. Staff were friendly, things were pretty easy to find and it's a fun shopping experience.

After seeing what my money got me, I am upset with my choice. Firstly, I have to say that the service was great. The woman I spoke to was helpful with taking my order. That is why they receive two stars. I let her know that I was interested in a nice arrangement of flowers without too much greenery or filler. Just flowers. She told me about a summer special for $50 that sounded pretty good, so I had that delivered to my mother. With delivery and tax my order came to over $62. It was more than I was looking to spend, but I figured she would get a great arrangement. Wrong. What she got was pretty, no doubt, but full of filler and nowhere near the value I get other places. I almost laughed when I saw what over 50 bucks got me at Williams. A few months ago I ordered two dozen roses to be delivered to her and it cost me around $38 from Rubia. You can imagine how disappointed I was to see her arrangement. The arrangement she received looked worth about $20. I will NOT be using Williams again. Save your money and go to Rubia. I have never once been disappointed with their value. Note: I have contacted Williams to make my disappointment known. They do not advertise an email address, so I left a voice mail and hope to let them know personally how I feel about my experience with them. UPDATE (For some reason I can't update the review?): I was contacted by someone at William's who basically said they were sorry I was disappointed, but made it known they thought I was expecting too much from a $50 bouquet. She told me that I shouldn't compare the flowers I get at Williams to the flowers I get from Rubia. What? I most certainly can! When you have a competitor, you better expect people to compare. Again- just go to Rubia and save your $ for a bigger and better bouquet there.
