I am a holistic health & wellness coach, and I have been on a mission to find "my specialist" for myself and my clients for about 4 years now, to take blood work, etc. to help me help them reach their health goals. I've tried conventional docs, naturopaths, and integrative docs, and have been left with a giant bill that my insurance won't pay for and no true resolution to my underlying root causes of my issues. Got adjusted by Dr. Bennett for some neck stiffness. He's an excellent chiropractor with a wealth of knowledge. He's on the cutting edge of chiropractic care in that he uses many different therapies to get you better. For him, it's not just about getting your spine adjusted. It's about improved nutrition, soft tissue therapy for muscle pain, and he even uses laser therapy for more severe injuries. Full Service Clinic that ended with "Wow". My job requires lot's of hard work with my hands. I am also training for a half marathon, and my past calf & achilles injuries were on the verge of making a return. I made an appointment (same day) and went in for a Massage. Really nice establishment with a serene feel to it, as soon as I walked in the door. The massage therapist, Anke was amazing! Strong hands, spending the amount of time to get to all of my sore spots as well as my back, shoulders, and legs. Great touch, and she threw in some hot stone work! I was in a near fatal car accident shattering 18 bones in my body...told by my surgeons that I would likely never walk again and would live a life in pain. It was suggested by my orthopedic surgeon to find a chiro who could laser me and Dr. Bennett has the best laser in town! The laser helped speed up my recovery time and reduce inflammation. Dr. Bennett is an excellent chiropractor. I have recommended him to several friends and even people I meet randomly who have physical issues that require a chiropractor. Everybody who has been treated by him has the same feedback - he is not only good at what he does (the adjusting part of chiro) but he takes the time to explain what and WHY he does what he does. I have used chiropractors for acute issues for over twenty years, and Steve is the best of them all. Personal anecdote: I had a "couch moving accident" that started a sciatica condition. Very painful and completed debilitating. Steve worked with me and made it go away in a few weeks. I actually went to an MD and got X-rays first and got an assessment. He couldn't give me a specific diagnosis but felt that some PT should fix whatever the problem was. When I told him I was going to pursue chiropractic, his response was "Oh - just don't let him adjust you!! Anything but that!!" There are people who are in the know and then there are people who are IN THE KNOW. We stumbled upon Steve Bennett, of Bennet Functional Therapies, when going to get a shoulder adjustment while visiting Del Mar on a vacation. Not only did he take care of that but the conversation turned to a broader sense of wellbeing. My husband suffers from a low thyroid disorder, Hashimoto's, which in turn leads to sluggishness, difficulty shedding weight and low energy. Where to Start; I'm a 28 year old male who is in very good shape and who has always been in good health. A little over a year ago I Herniated my L5/S1 and it changed my life. I wanted to avoid surgery at all cost so I started doing Physical Therapy twice a week to see if that would help. PT was able to get me some what stable within 6 months but I was never totally pain free. I eventually gave up on PT and decided that this was pain I was going to have to live with. Plantar fasciitis, 2 heel spurs, micro tears in my upper calve. Can you say hot mess all over? The first steps in the morning were excruciating but the worst part was not being able to run since March! That just killed my spirit. I was referred to Dr. Bennett at the tail end of May. I can not say enough about Dr. Bennett and how much he has helped me. For the past 7+ years I have had excruciating sciatic and piriformis pain. Dr. Bennett turned my life around after I had a major surgery and chemo. I was so lethargic I could barely get out of bed in the morning and make it through a day.
