I have been a patient of Spine zone on 2 seperate occasions for 48 weeks. During that period i have experienced nothing put pure professionalism, pure caring, pure exhibition of expertise and knowledge. Kindness, consideration for me as a person, me as a patient, as well as my condition. Spine zone has allowed me to take over my life by showing me that I have much greater potential that I knew and that I could be the master of my progress and destination in my rehabilitation. I cannot say enough about these fine people. Each and everyone of them has been an asset in my journey back to having a useful body and creating a mindset that I have not experienced since my accident 33 years ago. I do more now that I have during that period, and more than I did even before my accident. I can only say thanks, knowing it falls far short of acknowleding what I have gained. It is truly a debt I cannot repay. thank you to all of you that took part in my care and all of those in the background that work hard evey day to make these services available to their patients and continue to imporove those services. My experience at SpineZone was a very good one. This was particularly true after my schedule became consistent seeing the same physical therapists for most of my sessions. The physical therapists are very understanding and patient. They offered me an effective program while at the SpineZone location and while at home. Part of the program included using the various specially designed machines. Combined with the free-standing exercises and excellent guidance from the physical therapists, I could feel the improvements throughout the program with great results. Highly recommended. read more

SpineZone has been a godsend! I was suffering from chronic and worsening back pain for many, many months. I finally addressed it with primary care, and after diagnostics the findings were mild arthritis and degenerative disc disease. I was then referred to SpineZone. As I quickly learned from my very first visit, those diagnoses weren't really the reason for my pain, but rather many years of misuse of my body, along with an uneven pelvic positioning. (They shared that most everyone my age has these diagnoses and most are living pain free.) Through 14 sessions, Cole walked me through exercises I could do daily at home (with a nice daily text reminder from SZ so I wouldn't forget to do them). We modified said exercises as appropriate over the many weeks...ramping up where possible and modifying when necessary. In addition, Cole, with help from Cecilia, would put me through a series of strengthening exercises at each visit. They were both always so friendly, supportive and knowledgeable! In addition, Dr. Raiszadeh's book helped put so much into perspective. It really provided a wonderful complement to the actual sessions. I "graduated" this week from the program and am pleased to say that I am largely pain free and feeling stronger and more flexible than when I began. Most activities of daily living are manageable without pain now, which is a huge blessing. I'm grateful to SpineZone for helping me get back to my dancing self!! read more

I really loved working with Douglas Blaney, and i really liked the facility, although parking is an issue. The reason for deducting one star is about trying to reach the facility by phone, which is nearly impossible. if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, you can never reach someone at the Carmel Valley facility. you get routed to some other facility, then you have to leave a message and hope that someone calls you back soon, although it doesn't mean i'm available, as i do work full time so it's important to me that i am able to reach someone when i call. The other issue is the texting program. i loved having the daily reminders to log in and do my exercises, but the constant "you have an earlier appointment available" are SO annoying since i scheduled my appointments weeks in advance, so those were irrelevant and annoying. apparently you cannot stop one without stopping the other. read more

I was in PT for six months recovering from a spine injury resulting from a fall. I've been to a number of PT places over the years and SpineZone is the place to go for back issues. The therapists (mine was primarily Cole, although I also saw three others) are extremely professional, competent and friendly. They listen carefully to patients describing symptoms of pain, weakness, etc., and offer appropriate treatment, modifying exercises appropriately. Scheduling is easy and they're really good at dealing with medical offices for authorization requests. If you're suffering back pain, SpineZone can probably help you. read more

Luis is the best!! I had Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar spine issues.Luis helped me understand why this was happening and why strengthening was so important. At every session he guided me through a totally appropriate exercise routine. He has a great knowledge of the musculoskeletal system and what needs to be done to alleviate the pain. I went from an Urgent Care admission with a 9-10 pain level to being pain free and being able to do any activity including going back to playing pickle ball 3-4 times a week! The Spine Zone therapists are very professional and caring. At all times I felt listened to and understood, especially when I was trying to describe sciatica pain levels. I was having a lot of trouble sleeping until Cole gave me some tips on positions and exercises that helped a lot. Now I can actually sleep lying down instead of sitting up. I really liked the exercise machines; they stretch muscles that at home exercises don't reach. I highly recommend this team. It was pretty easy to schedule appointments. read more

This place is a waste of time. 30 minute sessions covered by insurance, and in that time you do 20 reps, 1 set, of 4 different exercises.

When my doctor referred me to Spinezone for PT for my back, I did not realize he had sent me to work with weight machines! The truth is SpineZone changed my life. After an evaluation with Niels, Kimberly took over my sessions. I grew stronger, and I can now move with confidence. I started to feel the difference a few weeks into the treatment. At the end of my sessions, I was shown how to use the equipment, so I can maintain and even strengthen further my back. Now, I go back several times a week to workout, with continued success. Update to earlier post. Spine zone actually did leave a message cancelling (went to junk) my appointment an hour prior. So why still one star? I called for six days trying to get someone to answer the phone. No answer. I was in so much pain I went in person to schedule an appointment. So after 10 days of waiting I was sent packing when I arrived for my appointment. Spine zone has replied to this post and called twice since my review. I needed help with my Nerve Root Disorder so I went elsewhere. Seems they are more worried about their rating than their potential clients. read more

I walked into Spine Zone a desperate person. My pain level had negatively impacted everything about my daily quality of life. I was highly motivated to work hard with the SZ program. As I progressed through the early sessions, I gained inspiration from the therapist, due to his professionalism, and willingness to answer my questions and explain the dynamics. I felt relief about half through my series of 20 workouts. At the end, the difference is like black and white. It will clearly be necessary for me to maintain a home exercise regimen to prevent backsliding. The SZ program is finely-tuned and individually designed for each patient. Each patient's progress is carefully tracked and entered into the computer for impact analysis. In short, it works! read more

I've had neck pain for 18 years that has prevented me from doing what I liked to do. The PT staff is very knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and able to explain the issue and the recommended program. I also really appreciated how they explain how to do each exercise, from proper form to how it works, and the benefits of each specific exercise to my specific issue. I have finished my treatment, but will be going back for maintenance. I already can ride my MTB harder and longer distances, did some snowboarding, and am going back to surfing. I will be 60 years old this year and the staff from SpineZone helped me be my best and keep doing all the sports I love. Five starts is not enough, I give them 10stars. read more

SpineZone, their philosophy and their employees are amazing. It is easy to schedule, but if you are a 'working citizen' the daytime slots fill up fast, so book your sessions in advance. I heard about SpineZone through a friend and went in for my neck problems. They carefully assessed my issues, reviewed my X-rays, and came up with a game-plan. 12 sessions really improved my issues and they helped me adjust my desk sitting posture, and for the final session we came up with exercises I can easily do at home, or anywhere for that matter. I have suffered with back and neck pain off and on for over twenty years. I have tried everything--physical therapy from 3 different outfits, shots in my spine and neck, acupuncture, meditation, prescription pain patches, massage, etc. and nothing made much of an improvement until I tried SpineZone. I was skeptical at first because, as some other reviewers said, you are only there for 30 minutes and the staff starts you out slowly, so it doesn't seem like you're really doing much. However, I kept up with the home exercises as instructed and within three weeks, the sharp pain that radiated from my lower back down to my buttock and leg completely went away. I had been living with that pain for about a year and a half and it's hard to describe how transformative it is to finally be able to move about normally. I am back to hiking, 3 to 4 mile walks, climbing stairs with ease and even my stiff neck is better. The staff of the Del Mar location have all been terrific--I have worked with Lucas, Kevin, Luis and Jenny and every one of them was extremely knowledgable, professional and kind. I cannot say enough good things about the folks at the Del Mar office. I got to work with Luis for over 3 months and I have to say he is the bomb. Medically negligent is one way of summing up this center! That is what I call designing a PT program based on the wrong patient's x-rays! It seemed odd when during my 1st session, my assigned PT kept referring to a recent back and neck x-ray, saying I had a specific condition when I didn't recall this x-ray. I looked at my Scripps portal and didn't see any imaging for my back/neck, so I called SpineZone and asked which x-ray are you referring to? Imagine my surprise, when I was told, I had images taken in June 2021! When I explained no, that's not possible, I don't have any record of it and I know it didn't happen. It turns out SpineZone pulled a different patient's x-ray to my account and designed a whole PT program around this other person! There is all kinds of wrong with this situation and all the SpineZone rep could say was, thanks for bringing this to our attention! Yea so I canceled my remaining appointments and will never return again. I've also relayed this disastrous situation to my referring doc to never send patients to SpineZone again! read more

I had a great experience with SpineZone in dealing with back pain. On my first visit they identified my doing sit-up exercises as a probable cause and recommended eliminating those from my routine and replacing them with leg lifts. The series of exercises they provided for strengthening my core and my hip joints/muscles worked well and my pain was gone in two sessions. Continued exercises have further strengthened the key muscles and joints. I was very pleased with the program. read more
