From my very first consultation, he made me feel completely comfortable, heard, and confident in my decision. He was honest, kind, and incredibly detailed in explaining what to expect before, during, and after my tummy tuck. The results have truly exceeded my expectations -- my stomach looks amazing! My incision is clean, smooth, and healing beautifully. Dr. Lam's work is not just skilled, it's artful. I feel like myself again -- even better -- and that's something I'll always be grateful for. His staff Bath has also been wonderful every step of the way, answering every question with patience and care. I never once felt rushed or dismissed. Choosing Dr. Lam as a surgeon was one of the worst mistakes I've made in my life! Not only does my body look odd and unnatural now following his surgery, with over-sized breasts and a pooch of fat hanging over my suture line, but I've developed serious health problems as a result of this surgery as well. Dr. Lam, although he makes a good first impression in a showman kind of way, is not a good listener, and communication is quick to go wrong and will only grow worse, never better. I wish I could write a 5-star review about this surgeon I paid $13,000 to improve my appearance. I wish my relationship with him was a good one. But I have to be honest. I just wish I had known more about Dr. Lam before I chose him as a surgeon. MY STORY: I've been tall and thin most of my life and I wanted to stay that way. I wanted to recapture the figure of my younger years with a thinner tummy and younger-looking, more shapely breasts. Re: My Breast Augmentation: My biggest fear was that the surgeon might misunderstand my wishes--that it was 'youthful shape' I was seeking for my breasts with only a modest increase in breast size. so my first words to Dr. Lam were,"I'm not here for the reason most women come to surgeons. I don't want large breasts--I only want mine to look younger and 'more lifted.' I emphatically stated to Dr. Lam, "I do NOT like the big-busted look. I only want a modest increase in size." Dr. Lam assured me that he understood that I only wanted a 'moderate" increase in size, not a large one. He even repeated it twice. Dr. Lam's last words to me during our very brief (5 minutes?) conversation were, "You'll be happy with the results." I believed him. So imagine my shock and horror when I woke up from surgery and discovered that, instead of having nicely-shaped D or DD cup-sized breasts that I had paid him for, I instead woke up with implants so large that I now have to wear a size 38 G / DDDD bra. That's HUGE! So huge that bra companies only make ONE SIZE LARGER --an "H." Now instead of looking lean, I look fat and top-heavy and have trouble finding clothes that fit. My body is out of proportion. In the beginning, I couldn't let myself believe it--that Dr. Lam, whom I had paid $13,000, had done anything other than improve my figure--this was his job, after all! I went into denial, constantly telling myself, "But surely he knows what he's doing and surely he wouldn't give me "the big-busted look" that I hate so much. It must be me who's wrong about what l see in the mirror!" But it was impossible to discuss my confusion with Dr. Lam because he would just sit there glaring at me and not say a word at all. He wouldn't give me any kind of feedback whatsoever. Nor, over the course of time, would he EVER mention the possibility of a revision even though most surgeons do offer revisions to patients who aren't fully satisfied with their result. In the absence of feedback--confused about my breast size, I had myself professionally measured at a specialty shop and finally got some Real Information. What am I? A huge cup size G/DDDD! Now look at photos of shapely actresses. Do any of them have size G/DDDD breasts? NO, because it's an unattractively large size! HOW COULD DR. LAM DO THIS TO ME! Dr. Lam had given me the very thing I told him that I absolutely did NOT want--big breasts? SUPER big breasts! I look like a fat cow, and the size G / DDDD bras I'm force to wear now are massive, ugly things that look like they were built for Sherman tanks! Dr. Lam avoids any conversation with me at all. His attitude is, "I gave you implants, didn't I? I did my job. If you aren't happy with how it looks, that's YOUR fault." Regarding a possible revision? Unlike responsible plastic surgeons, Dr. Lam never brought it up to me. And when I brought it up to him, what did he do? He sent me a "Cosmetic Quote" informing me that a tummy tuck/breast augmentation revision would cost me ANOTHER $13,000! Which would bring the total cost of my surgery to $26,000! Re: My Tummy Tuck: It came out bad-looking, too. The photos I've posted on the website Realselfcom speak for themselves. My stomach has a big puff of fat that sticks out above my unattractive surgical incision. I have run out of room. I regret that my review about Dr. Lam can't be positive, but at this time it can't. I wish I could have read more posted reviews before I chose Dr. Lam as my surgeon--it would have saved me $1,000s and spared me a lot of anguish. In summary: Dr. Lam to my horror dismissed the most important thing I was seeking from surgery--modest rather than large breasts. His implants made me a massive G/DDDD cup. When asked he said, "Ah! We were at the office once with my son. Dr. Lam was clear in his explanations. We had on the other hand, unfortunately, tons of problems with the prescription medication I was supposed to use on my son's 3rd degree burn. Almost a week delay on the pharmacy part and I didn't really appreciate the back and forth of responsibilities. read more

I would highly recommend Dr. Lam. I have had both a tummy tuck and breast reduction with great results. He is professional and knowledgeable and he and his staff are so friendly and easy to deal with. If you think you need to go into the city to get great results you are wrong. read more

Dr. Lam and his aesthetician have performed various procedures and treatments for a couple of my family members and myself. Both of them were very thorough in what we wanted and if they could provide that. Not only have they done so, but results are better than expected. And more importantly, what is realistic. He truly cares about how his work and making the patient happy. He is so upbeat and has a great bedside manner. With so many other talented plastic surgeons in the area, I kick my self for settling with Dr. Lam. He did my breast reduction and right from the beginning I had fluid leaking from my side for days and he did not care. What happened was my side was left open or his stitch didnt hold and I had this wound that took a while to heal and it turned into this big ugly scar. Another plastic surgeon in the area fixed his mistake for me. I will never go back to him simply because he does not seem to care after he did my procedure. I don't have enough to words to say what Dr. Lam has done for me. The procedure I had was a breast reduction, I was always hesitant to get the surgery because of horror stories I've heard, and the pictures Ive seen online. After looking at Dr. Lams website, I decided to go in for a consultation and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. His office is clean and sophisticated, the staff is very friendly and professional; which just makes you feel safe. Dr. Lam listened to all of my concerns, answered all of my questions, and always made me feel comfortable. He is so warm and welcoming, and he is an incredible surgeon. For the results of the surgery, it came out better then I ever could've dreamed of, I finally feel like me. I can't thank Dr. Lam enough for what he's done for me. Dr. Lam and the staff were all wonderful to deal with. With that being said, I am disappointed. I went to Dr. Lam to get a revision gynecomastia surgery after having it done with a different plastic surgeon. I believed almost 100% there was still residual tissue leftover. I had the consultation and Dr. Lam said he felt that he could correct it under local anesthesia. I went ahead and scheduled the procedure. After the swelling went down, I went back and told Dr. Lam that I believed there was still more tissue that needed to be removed. I assured Dr. Lam that at this point, I am not worried about the appearance of my chest and I just wanted ALL the tissue removed. He agreed to do another revision at minimal cost ($250). 2 months later and I am still at square 1, with still tissue leftover in my right side. The next option he gave me was to be put to sleep under anesthesia and try for a third time. This time it would cost another 2k which was what I originally paid him the first time. At this point I don't think I can take that chance of having poor results. read more

I saw Dr. Lam for removal of a few spots on my skin and he was very charismatic and kind. Years later I decided to have rhinoplasty performed by Dr. Lam. Choosing Dr. Lam was one of the worst decisions I have made. To this day many years later my nose runs every day and looks terrible. He initially said he would fix it but then would not. I am in need of revision rhinoplasty. I would NOT recommend him. read more

Dr. Lam is very skilled as a cosmetic surgeon, I had a bracheoplasty- one arm has terrible bumpy scarring and the other upper arm is "ok"- he had a student with him the day of my surgery- I didn't pay full price to be practice for a student,,I am a bit disappointed for he removed melanoma from my thigh years ago & he did an outstanding job.i would still recommend Dr. Lamm. read more
