    The yummy fried rice
    Tha B.

We wanted something Asian tonight and this was the first place we came across while walking in Clifton Hills. The restaurant is located above an arcade. We didn't have a reservation. It was a Saturday but we were there around 6 o'clock so it was kind of early for dinner. We got sat and we ordered our food and the show got started. There were four of us and the bill was $446 Canadian. They charge gratuity automatically. The food and the show was just "ok". Everyone loved the fried rice but it's an extra $5 to get it. I don't think I will ever go back. There's a Japanese steakhouse in Fort Wayne Indiana that does a better job. We were on vacation and wanted to give the girls an experience and they loved it. So the food was decent but you are really paying for the show.

I have included a price list of the Benihana I frequently visit in California. Normally, a person can enjoy lunch for around $45.00 usa dollar (per person) LOCATION: 4955 Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls, ON L2G 3N5 The prices at this location in Canada by the Niagara falls are a robbery. I spent $332.89 USA Dollar approximately $456.62 Canadian Dollar for lunch for 4 people. (NO alcohol was consumed) we had two sodas and two waters) two chicken lunches, one steak lunch and one shrimp lunch. (*NOTE: this location charges an (NFDF) I paid $25.84 to eat at this location, please understand that the restaurant does not tell you about the NFDF fee until the end. The food tasted the same as it does back home, the chef was nice, but in the past the chef's at Benihana's are always nice. I truly feel this location takes advantage of the reputation Benihana has, by attracting consumers that know the name and reputation and then over charging. I truly feel that this location has a price markup of like 200% of the average Benihana's. Keep in mind that Benihana operates from restaurants in the United States, the United Kingdom, Slovakia, Romania, The Middle East, the Caribbean and Central and South America. Therefore the restaurant is well known. PLEASE in the future to avoid a horrendous price gouging disappointment ASK, do not assume all location charge a FAIR price for what you are used to paying. PLEASE NOTE THE MENUE PRICES INCLUDED FOR THIS REVIEW ARE THE PRICES FOR THE RESTAURANT I VISIT REGULARLY BACK AT HOME NEAR DISNEYLAND IN CALIFORNIA!!

    My receipt!!

we were visiting from california so we familiar with this establishment... -the food was ok... -the gentleman that prepared the food was fun... however!!! the extra fees were outrageous!!! please note the added fees on our receipt... unacceptable!! beware it was not worth it!

Great diner experience. You have a personal chef to cook amd perform in front of you. Portion is huge as well. The thing that kills the experience is the price. On top of that, there's a lot of fee so your dinner bill will be huge

Dinner for 2 adults and 2 kids, with 1 alcoholic drink was $363. They are robbing customers with their ridiculously high prices and with the tourist tax they impose. I wish I would have read the reviews before we decided to dine there. We had literal sticker shock when the bill came. I didn't appreciate the $60+ in added fees/tax we were surprised with at the end of the meal. Save yourself big bucks and eat on the US side of the falls because Niagara Falls Canada robs tourists blind.

Food and service is great but the Niagara Falls tourist tax makes the bill ridiculous.

The food was good but it is grossly overpriced. A $300 bill for two people with 18% gratuity added added was a shock. Be careful!

Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. My husband ordered nigiri sushi: red snapper and white tuna. Both of these were bland, with a mushy mouthfeel. My oyster had lots of sheen and liquor, but they were clearly harvested long ago, and were shriveled in their shells. Both of us left with upset stomachs. As a topper, our young waiter asked us as we settled the bill, "Why are you old folks out during the busy time?" OMG. This restaurant is affiliated with Wind restaurant, which also uses robot servers. The Buffalo location has wider aisles: Here, it was dinner-and-a-show watching the servers and patrons dodge and weave around the robots.

The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly everything we ordered felt like it was made with care. But the real surprise was the robot servers rolling food out to the tables. It sounds gimmicky, but it was actually really fun to watch and added something different to the whole experience. Service from the staff was still attentive and friendly, and the place had a nice, lively vibe without feeling chaotic. Definitely a spot I'd go back to if I'm in the area again.

Japanese is usually one of the meals we head out for and I decided to try Michinoku for lunch as I noticed it across the street after shopping at Commisso's the previous night. Located on the corner of a small strip plaza the restaurant is clean and modern. They had many specials which I think are a good thing at any restaurant. Greeted by a friendly server who seated us at a table for 4 right at the front of the restaurant. We ordered Octopus Tempura, Chicken Teriyaki and Tonkatsu lunch specials, and Spider Rolls. The 2 specials came with an eggplant appetizer, edamame, miso soup, and green salad. These were all great and the salad dressing was very good. I had the pork cutlet which was a relatively thick piece of pork with a nice breading that was light and not greasy. The octopus was nicely breaded, cooked well, not too chewy. The spider rolls were ok but I've had better. The green tea was nice and water for my youngest daughter was served in a small plastic cup. I love little extras like this. All of the food was served on very nice Japanese dinnerware, unlike the melamine stuff you normally see at other places. Overall, service was really good, the server was very attentive and prices are fair, even considering it's Niagara Falls. This will be our new Japanese joint the next time we're back in town!

Not pictured: mango sticky rice dessert which had a very ripe and juicy mango served with warm and perfectly sweet rice. We split into two tables of 7 and our server, a kind and pleasant young woman, handled us so professionally! Large groups are never easy given the number of orders and cutlery, not to mention we had an anaphylactic peanut allergy, but she managed us with grace and such warmth! Oftentimes, she would be juggling multiple plates but never failed to do so with a nice smile on her face. My table ordered two mango salads to share, with were served with complimentary shrimp chips. The salads were a decent portion, with lots of crunchy cashews and sweet apples and mangoes. We then ordered a few mains family-style - a green / emerald chicken curry (with no peanuts), a peanut-free chef's pad thai, a red curry, a pad see ew, and a fried rice. Everything was delicious but my personal favourites were the pad see ew (so flavourful and with good wok hei) and the emerald curry (their spiciest curry - which did pack a slight punch). The pad thai was good too, but good pad thai isn't that rare now. Finally, we ended with three mango sticky rices. The mango to rice ratio was amazing, with thick and plump mango slices on coconut-y, creamy rice. What an amazing meal! Would highly recommend and definitely come again.
