Not wanting to wait that long, I was told they had openings at the Henry Ford Medical Center in West Bloomfield for the following Monday so I decided to take it. This Medical Center is located at the southwest corner of Farmington Road and Maple Road, just after a traffic circle. Assess is easy and parking is adequate. There are other specialties resident at this location as well. As you enter from outside there are kiosks for you to do express check in if you like. I bypassed because I saw the entrance to dermatology immediately past the lobby entrance. I was quickly checked in, given a form to fill out, and sat waiting to be called. Not only did Dr.K listen to me, she helped me navigate through my fear of flying, which came up randomly because she actually talks to you and helped me understand more natural and realistic ways of dealing with my health, which is what I was so excited about. I took time off of work to go there today with my daughter while I was on time and filling out paperwork, my son was driving my daughter and they had a minor fender bender on M15 because the road crew backed into him so they were literally 12 minutes late. So the office lady tells me we are 15 minutes late and they are cancelling the appointment even though my daughter was there trying to get into the building from the wrong side. Mind you this was at 1:42, our appt. time was 1:30 and I was there filling out the paper work so all they would have to do was take here back to the room to see the doctor. How is that 15 minutes. So as I am walking out the lady had the audacity to come out and ask me to reschedule. Really you think I am going to come back after the rude way you spoke to me. She not only was rude to me, she was rude to another patient that came in thinking he had an appointment and was also rude to the lady working in the lobby checking people in. What is sad is I was referred to a this office from one of their own employees, who by the way is great. I am recommending if you get referred to this office......RUN AWAY. It will likely ruin your day as it just did ours. Now we have to go through the trouble of contacting the insurance company to have the Dr. removed as our Primary Care Physician and research and find a better one! During my appointment, they insisted I needed an MRI and scheduled it for me. They scheduled it for 6/3 on my behalf. Later in the day on 6/2, the MRI office called and said they have an earlier appointment and I accepted. Later in that same day on 6/2, MRI office called and said I do not have active insurance. I then called Lederman office and was told they verified I have active insurance. MRI was completed at the 3rd party and was then informed I need to pay $400+ because my insurance is no longer active. Lederman then charged me $765 and claimed it is on me to know I do not have active insurance. EVEN THOUGH THEY VERIFIED IT BEFORE SCHEDULING ME, CONFIMED I HAD ACTIVE PRIOR TO THE MRI, SCHEDULED THE MRI FOR ME, AND CONTINUED TO SAY INSURANCE WAS CONFIRMED TO BE ACTIVE EVEN AFTER I INFORMED THEM THE MRI OFFICE IS STATING INSURANCE IS NOT ACTIVE. I informed the doctor office I also use Medicaid, but they do not accept it. They then reduced the bill from $765 to $215 only after being super rude, disrespectful, and having the most condescending tone I have heard in a long time. Just awful to work with and they didn't care about my side of the story at all. The doctor was solid but because of Laurie and Rochelle being some of the most arrogant and disrespectful individuals I have ever had the displeasure of encountering, I would stay far away from this place and utilize any other doctor in your network. Rochelle is also a supervisor (somehow) and was the worst of them all. Just a nightmare to work with and truly wish I would have never visited them to begin with.
