This review is based on my return interaction which was done at the counter at the Brow Bar. I could not find a separate Yelp for the Benefit counter at this location. It's fine because they really are the same thing. I had gotten my brows done at the Benefit in Pasadena a few days before my wedding. While there, one of the artists applied a brow gel, pencil and powder to areas that weren't as full as I wanted. During our conversation she attempted to sell me plenty of things, mostly for my wedding. I purchased 4 items, one of which I didn't open or use (a body shimmer cream). She also put 5 samples into my bag, these were items that she had spoken to me about or had attempted to sell me. She encouraged me to return after my wedding and purchase full sizes if I liked the products. Okay. So when I try to return the body shimmer stuff to the Macy's near my home the cashier, Diana, gave me attitude and mentioned over and over again that I received "gifts". She was making no moves toward returning the product, instead she was pointing at my receipt. I acknowledged the "samples" and she said "they are full sized gifts, we call them gifts". She was saying it in an accusatory manner or like I should be bringing them back or something. I don't really know what she was getting at. It was weird and inappropriate. I don't want to haggle over a return based on some stupid samples that were shoved in my bag. I didn't even use the samples. I wasn't going to take chances on my wedding day with products that I haven't used before. It's unfortunate that this location is within walking distance to me because I'll most likely return to the Pasadena location for better service. read more

Brow wax was fine and I have no issue with the brow technician. However, while she was filling my brows afterwards, a customer arrived and asked a different salesgirl to recommend a brow filler. The salesgirl took the pencil my technician was using on MY brows to fill in the customer's brows - WITHOUT SANITIZING IT! So gross! I had been observing this salesgirl throughout my service and she was super pushy with every customer (she even tricked someone into using their Macy's card when they specifically asked to pay cash) so I wasn't surprised that she was in such a rush to give this customer a sample. But that's no excuse to skip basic cleanliness rules! I've been coming to this Brow Bar for years, but I'm so disgusted by this experience, I will never return. read more

Adrine did my makeup today and I absolutely loved it! I will definitely come back to her!! There was a $75 minimum purchase which wasn't hard to meet at all since I love their products :) The only reason it gets 4 instead of 5 is that I had scheduled my appointment weeks in advance, called twice to confirm, and even dropped by to confirm in person. After letting my brows grow for so long after a year of seeing my regular brow lady, I am so happy! I decided it was time to stop threading and "growing out" which was just code for " i over tweezed, you fill in at home" I saw Armine at the brow bar located in Macy's. She took her time, explained the process and constantly checked in with me to make sure my brows were exactly what I wanted. She was gentle, friendly and was excited to see my reaction to her work. Vanessa was the person who did my eyebrows. Before she started waxing them, she asked me what I wanted. I showed her a reference photo and told her I only wanted to clean up my eyebrows while getting rid of the point towards the top of the brow. She seemed to understand what I wanted as she went over what I said. She then started waxing. After the waxing was over, she started to tweeze my eyebrows- the tweezing lasted about 10 minutes. TEN MINUTES?! why would anyone need to tweeze for 10 minutes. In my head I even thought that she was tweezing for wayyyy too long and way too many hairs!!! But she did stop to say "Don't worry, you can trust me." She then showed me my eyebrows and half of the tail was gone!!! And my eyebrows were two totally different shapes. I was in shock. I'm not really sure what she didn't understand, as she took the time to talk to me about what I wanted. Please think about going somewhere else next time you need your eyebrows done. Ani fit me in on Saturday for a brow/lip wax. I had called to make an appointment, but I think I accidentally got the Benefit Brow Bar at JC Penney and not Macy's. Even though, I was fit in for a wonderful wax! Ani was very warm and sweet - and she did an amazing job. She was very gentle!! I'm so happy for how my brows look; she shaped them exactly the way I wanted. They look great and I was not pressured to buy any other products, etc. I absolutely recommend her and everyone at the Brow Bar who was so nice and professional. No. No. No. So disappointed w/ this location. My go to person, Thalia (at Pasadena's Brow Bar), was off the days I needed services before my vacation so I opted for Glendale. Worst decision EVER. I was going to get the individual lashes as I do bi-weekly. Turns out they were going to charge me $45 for a full set and $35 for half the set. It's $30 for full set at other locations (not to mention their price range online is $5 to $35 ON THEIR WEBSITE) THEY'RE OVER CHARGING. Declined services after how it absurd it was. Had eyebrow waxing done though and tinting. Their customer service is great, don't get me wrong, but the waxing itself was awful. They left a bunch of little hairs. Natash did them and left them uneven as well. It was really noticeable and embarrassing. My day was saved the next day w/ Thalia at Pasadena's Benefit brow bars. She touched up my brows and gave me amazing looking lashes. Though did have to go out of my way to squeeze it into my schedule and before my flight! Worst decision ever. read more

Since the beginning she's been great, not pushy or trying to sell me things, she's very professional and still friendly. I drive from the valley to get my brows done. I want to preface my post by saying that Ani is the best esthetician I've ever been to for my brows, so this review does not apply to her (she's awesome and I would recommend her to anyone). However... I'm so disappointed in my most recent visit. I mistakenly did a walk-in on one of Ani's days off because this was the only time I could get my brows done before an upcoming trip. I ended up being waxed by a new girl (I don't know her name, but she is caucasian with very dark dyed black hair & a lip piercing). I asked her to clean my brows up & let her know that I had been growing them out for several months. At the end, she filled in my brows with brow powder & concealed my red spots. They looked fine when I left. Later, when I got home & washed my make up off, I noticed how incredibly uneven & shapeless my brows were! My boyfriend even noticed and he never notices this kind of thing. WTF. I don't even know if I have the time to go back & get them "fixed" before my trip and I am so, so annoyed. Lesson learned. I have no more eye brows... I now have no eyes brows, after letting my eye brows grow and grow, a recent experience was awesome.... Not this time !!!! I was told to sit down and not even a hi or hello was offered. Not a what are we doing today... As she was about to wax me I said "I'm sorry" just you just clean me up bc I have been letting them grow .... nothing !!! As she kept tweeting saying aw sorry all these small hairs . I'm so disappointed by my tweezing experience here. I was looking for a new esthetician and decided I'd give this location a try after reading such positive reviews. However, my esthetician made my brows worse than before I came. I'm not sure what was happening because it sort of felt like she didn't know what she was doing. She left so many hairs around my eyebrows, making them look unkempt. Within the actual shape of my brows, she took out an entire chunk that I'm now going to have to wait to grow back. She is such a sweetheart and is professional with her work. I love how she really cares for her clients with not only servicing them of their waxing needs, but also takes the time to chitchat and see how your day is going. Reading all the reviews I can't say the same !!! I've been letting my eye brows grow for 2 months ! Yes I was walking around looking crazy! I yelped and the benefit from macys pop-up ! I said to myself ohk good reviews why not go there!! But I was highly mistaken! I told the associate please please don't make my eyebrows thin. Just wax what needs to be clean is ok if you still leave some eyebrow hair !! But she waxed my eyebrows so thin at the end that it looks like I have no eyebrows! I also have patches where she over pluck my eyebrows (Thank god I know how to fill in my eyebrows) I didn't want to be rude and tell her off !! You could see in my face I was highly upset!!!
