My regular lady at my routine salon was already booked for the day. Heather luckily had a 10am opening and I got an appointment. Without meeting her and not knowing her curly hair skills, she did a great job. She used my natural curls and 33 Bobby pins to create a cute "get it off my neck, it's hot outside, but leave a couple dangle around my cheeks" updo. No hot tools needed! Heather was friendly and professional. We conversed while she was working her magic. Her two daughters are going to school for my occupation and we found out we had some things in common too. She was done in 20 mins and I was slightly disappointed the appointment was over so quickly. Walking into the place is welcoming and clean. I love the high ceilings with crystal chandeliers. A fancy warehouse feel with sleek lines and open spaces. Customer products available for purchase at the counter and on display shelves in the waiting area. Easy to get to from hwy 65 and Main St (125th Ave, hwy 242). Plenty of parking. I would definitely recommend and may make another appointment for other services.

I showed up early and she got me in early, which was great! I planned on wearing a swimsuit but she said a lot of women go topless, so I did. Erica made me feel totally comfortable and the process was very quick and only took about 5 minutes. It was my first time going to this salon so it was 50% off and only ended up costing 20 dollars! I followed all after-care instructions and wore dark loose fitting clothes home and didn't do anything the rest of the day except lounge at home..but I still ended up with weird uneven streaks on my hands and wrists. It wasn't as bad as when I got a spray tan by a machine (mystic or norvell) and the rest of my tan looked great, but I just wish the tops of my hands and wrists looked more natural.

Even during a period when the location operated without a manager, the specialists maintained a high standard of professionalism and customer care. Unfortunately, my perception of this location has changed significantly following the departure of several employees who looked like me, without any clear explanation. As a woman of color, I particularly valued having wax specialists who were knowledgeable about melanated skin and coarser hair textures. That level of experience and representation made a meaningful difference in both my comfort and the quality of service I received. After my previous specialist was terminated, I decided to give another specialist an opportunity. While she was very pleasant and professional, the results were disappointing. My wax was incomplete, leaving behind noticeable hair, and I subsequently experienced painful ingrown hairs. My dissatisfaction is not directed toward the new specialist personally, but rather toward the changes in staffing and the apparent lack of diversity and specialized expertise at this location. Diversity in the beauty and personal care industry is not simply about representation. It is also about ensuring that clients of all backgrounds receive knowledgeable, effective, and equitable service. I pulled a number and I waited 45 minutes without my number getting called and had to finally leave, as it was a weekday and I had a work meeting at 1 pm. The second time, I arrived again on a weekday, this time on a Tuesday at 7:20ish. There were at least 9 people ahead of me and I immediately asked the threaders, 'do I have a chance?' Their policy states that last call is 7:45. The threaded responded 'yeah you do.' I had my ticket in hand and went to a store nearby. I returned before closing and there were still customers in the chairs having their brows threaded. It was minutes before closing at 8 and as mentioned, there were still women being threaded. I came with my number and the threaders now stated 'no we aren't taking anyone.' When I reiterated what I was told just some minutes before, they said 'you have to wait here.' I was in absolute shock. There is no sign written that you must wait there after you have already pulled a number for your spot in line. There was no notice of this when I had just spoken to the threaders when I asked if I had a chance. This felt like a convenient excuse in the moment. Only come here if you have 2 hours for your commute and to sit and stare at all of the other people waiting in line for an hour before your turn comes.
