I will definitely be returning for any future events needing hair and makeup! I have additionally starting frequenting the salon for my color and cuts. Finding a salon in town that will cut my curly hair dry and style it was a unique and very welcoming experience. Macy taught me how to properly care for my curls and has educated me on tools and products that I should be using. I always feel at ease when I visit the salon.

If anyone would like to contract with a defensive business owner who isn't open to customer feedback to improve their services, then by all means that is your choice!! ................... I contracted with Moxie-To-Go in Gainesville for my sister's wedding which included 14 services (hair/makeup). Overall, the experience was a major disappointment. Moxie was quick to respond with a service quote but in hindsight, after signing, I realized the makeup artist assigned to my contract didn't do airbrush. The service menu said "traditional/airbrush" -- it should clearly state which service is being provided if both aren't available! Check this before you sign with Moxie. This caused a major issue down the road for us. The bride had a poor experience at the trial and Moxie told her the makeup artist assigned to our event didn't work well with mature skin so they had the hair stylist (who knows how to airbrush) do makeup for the bride. So Moxie knowingly sent a makeup artist who didn't work with mature skin well, as we're all in our 40s. There were other communication issues related to day of logistics, like creating a service schedule, that Moxie wouldn't help with and said they never make schedules. It just seemed so disorganized. Nearly every email I sent to Moxie for guidance, a different person responded to me, which confused things further. It would be nice to have a dedicated support contact for a special event. The day of the wedding there were 4 of 5 bridesmaids disappointed with their makeup for various reasons but mainly color matching and foundation issues. The hair stylist on site offered to fix us all (we were very grateful for that and she did make us feel better) but then she had to manage 8 hair styles plus fixing makeup for 4 bridesmaids. I just felt the service/end result we received did not match the price at all. We found out later that the makeup artist isn't licensed. We put faith in Moxie based on other positive reviews, but they didn't deliver and caused extra stress for the bride and bridal party before and during the event. We ended up having to tip more because we felt bad for the hairstylist who fixed our makeup -- when in reality, we should have been getting a refund since the makeup had to be fixed in the first place. Our hair stylist was amazing. No issues with hair and she at least fixed our faces. For some girls she had to completely remove the foundation done by the makeup artist and start over.

Getting my eyebrows done has always been stressful because no one ever seems to know what to do with them. I'd leave with them too thin, or with the front super thick and the tail so thin it was barely there. I finally decided to try brow lamination, and honestly, I was nervous trying something new. My brows grow fast and a little wild, so I needed someone who actually understood shape and balance. Anamaris did her thing. She took her time, listened to my concerns, and completely transformed my brows while still keeping them natural and full. The shape is perfect, my brows look lifted, clean, and intentional and for once, I didn't leave questioning them. The next day, my coworker loved my brows so much she considered booking her own appointment. My mom saw them and immediately booked for the following month. That alone says everything. If you've ever struggled with inconsistent brow services or have hard-to-manage brows, this is the place. Anamaris truly knows what she's doing. I won't be going anywhere else.

So positive and so committed to making sure that everyone leaves her shop looking and feeling their best. My best friend told me that she had gotten a message that the shop was having a sale on lipstick, so she and I went by to see if we could find anything we like. Tawanna took the time with each of us to create a few looks that we absolutely loved! I told her I wanted to do something different than my usual berry colored lipsticks and glosses. She pulled me way out of my comfort zone with colors like Amaretto, Frosted Amber, and Hawaiian Fire. I really didn't want to try on the Hawaiian fire, which is like a bright red-orange, and is a matte color (which I think makes the wearer's lips look dry), but she insisted that I would love it. She framed the color with a cherry lip liner and let me tell you...these lips look GOOD baby!! I walked out of that shop feeling like a million bucks. I left with a bag full of goodies and, more importantly, the confidence in knowing how to use them properly. Tawanna offered some really great recommendations for lip liner and lipstick combinations that were definitely different than anything I would have picked on my own. She also offered some really helpful application tips to help us refine and perfect our looks. Recently I've wanted to get a makeover but I had not found anywhere near me that offers those services. Stores like MAC and bluemercury have these "experts", wearing a face full of messy, caked-on make up, who are more interested in trying to get you to buy something (anything, whether it looks good on you or not) as opposed to helping you design and define your own style. I appreciate that Tawanna was not pushy or impatient. She was generous with her time and expertise, and as a result, I'll be back on Saturday for that makeover. I was told that putting bleach directly on virgin roots down for 50 minutes straight. No not adding the roots in the last 25 minutes. When I mentioned the burned especially on my forehead, the response was "I can't take anymore off because there won't be bleach on it" But it's an allergic reaction. I am grateful for my 30% refund. I honestly if it was owned up I probably wouldn't be writing this but instead the stylist Dalton blocked me on instagram. I was told it was a bad reaction to the bleach. If you pay attention to the last 3 pictures they have a time between them of an hour and 20 minutes and that's when application was completed. I was also trying to reach out to Dalton on instagram cause he asked me for pictures. Never once opened my DM with him and blocked me. Forgot to say it was my first salon experience ever. I have dyed my own hair through the products at sally's and done a full black to bleach blond transformation in one day and did not have this reaction. No strand tests ? I've never done a Yelp review before so this is probably all over the place.
