Erin was incredibly patient, helpful, and knowledgeable, offering recommendations and helping us explore different fragrance combinations until we found exactly what we were looking for. She never made us feel rushed, which we really appreciated! It was such a fun, unique activity to enjoy with friends, and everyone in our group had a great time. I love that you get to be creative and enjoy the experience while making something of your own! Talking with her, you can feel the heart behind the place. It's a small family business she and her husband have run for a couple of years, with their son(s) helping out in the shop. The kids had a blast browsing all the trinkets and picked out a few toys, the 3D-printed dinosaurs/snakes were a hit. From start to finish, this was an incredible experience. This was our first time making our own candles and the owner was there to guide us and explain the whole process. We got to personalize our candles from the scent to color to decor and the best part is we did it all ourselves. The shop itself was really nice and tidy. Bonus points on the "secret" room that had some gaming stuff like pool table, mini arcade area and some board games. I say secret because the connecting door is hidden as one of the shelves. He let us take our time in the room that is actually an adjoining room to his shop that has its own entrance/exit door. At the same time, I've been struggling to find something that will cover my dark spots (thanks, adult-onset acne) without making me look like Little Richard. One of the makeup artists, Jocelyn, tried two foundations on me, but they made my skin look like muddy water and they did not compliment my yellow and green undertones well at all (despite her raving about how well the products matched my skin). Instead of blending in with my skin, they sat on top of my face like a yellow tinged paint. She gave me samples of the product to try later, but after viewing it on me in a brighter, stronger light, I realized that I needed to keep looking for my perfect match. Another makeup artist (I forgot her name, but she was a black girl whose name also started with J. Jess, maybe?) asked if I needed any help. I told her that I was looking for something that had a more natural finish. She put me on to some really fabulous foundation from Cover FX that made my skin look dewy and fresh instead of cakey and dull. I walked around the store and checked out my skin in different kinds of light. It looked fantastic. It also wasn't heavy or greasy. She also introduced me to a peach colored primer from Make Up Forever that helped to even my skin tone and make the look even more flawless. I appreciate her taking the time to make sure that I found the right product for my skin. I've been to MAC, bluemercury, and a couple of other stores that have just tried to sell me stuff, as opposed to taking the time to make sure that I leave with a product that is right for me and a product that I'm satisfied with.
