I first called my dermatologist office and they charged $800 a session for legs which is insane. I then found two other places who were not very transparent with their pricing and I did not like that. My sister recommended SEV because she goes there herself in LA. I looked up the website and they list all their prices and a package that includes 18 sessions and lifetime yearly maintenance sessions cost less than 3 treatments at my dermatologists office. So far so good! My biggest concern is finding someone who is familiar with paradoxical hypertrichosis because I experienced that on my face back in 2004. Luckily, two of the techs are familiar with it which is honestly not very common since most places I talked to thought it was "strange" that happened to me and they have never heard of that before. I booked a consultation and when I showed up, the lady at the front desk was so nice and friendly. She instantly made me feel comfortable. The laser technician, Mary, was the sweetest and she was able to answer all my questions and made me feel comfortable asking any questions. In 2004, I used to cry during my sessions and I was really afraid the laser would still hurt and I would find it unbearable. The consultation was for armpits which is a very sensitive area. The cold air they blow on you during the treatment is a game changer and not only was the pain not bad, but it was a couple minutes and your done! After my session, I immediately bought a package for legs and underarms. I HIGHLY recommend SEV Chandler.

I was nervous about my first Brazilian but after going to Glow, not only do I know that I will keep getting them, I know I will only be going to Glow for this service. Unfortunately, I can't remember the aesthetician's name now (it was several weeks ago that I went, and I'm due back shortly) but her manner and kindness put me at ease about the whole waxing process. There's something to be said for a woman who can put another at ease about putting hot wax on her bits and then ripping the hair off using said hot wax - but this woman was not only able to calm my fears but also kept me chatting in a way that helped distract me enough to look forward to the end result without stressing too much over the process. I ended up getting a "modified" Brazilian and was charged accordingly - not full price since I didn't get a full Brazilian. I appreciated that despite the fact that she put in so much work and time (30 minutes!! - I'm used to going in, getting the skin, hair, and wax ripped off and being off the waxing table in under 20!), she only charged me for a partial Brazilian. Many salons wouldn't modify the price according to the customer's needs, only their own. Waxing is very Machiavellian - the end has to justify the means because otherwise it can make for walking funny, in grown hairs, and embarrassment, not to mention pain. The Nufree wax is gentle enough, although I had a surprising reaction to it, I think that was more me than the product (since I've had it used on me before with no problems). The aesthetician also provided me with a small sample of lotion to help with in-grown hairs and any irritation that would arise. I was incredibly impressed with her thoroughness as well as her kindness. I'm looking forward to going back to Glow, despite the masochism of getting waxed!

She was friendly it was just poor service. I did a ton of research about waxing before I ever got a Brazilian and I could tell Jamie was pulling the wax way too early before the wax was hard enough which caused the wax strip to rip into pieces as she was pulling it which made it super painful. She did not place the wax correctly in the way my hair grows which resulted in a ton of hair breaking off instead of being completely pulled out. I know it's normal for some hair to still be present... she left a ton of hair. Then I go home and an hour later my vagina is completely swollen and itchy with bumps on the inside. This has never happened to me. When I reached out and made a complaint I was told I would not be getting a refund and they basically blamed me saying it was because I waited too long and that I've only had one wax before so basically I don't know what I'm talking about. It is recommended to come to a Brazilian with your hair longer than a grain of rice and better when it's grown all the way out so your hair is at the end of its growth cycle (so the hair follicle can be pulled clean out because it's at the end of its growth cycle) they basically told me my hair was too long and dense. So you're the professional, if you felt my hair was too long why didn't you trim it? You're obviously uneducated on how to perform a proper Brazilian and need another training course. Maybe from European wax center....That place you hate.
