The main house was decorated for Christmas with an attention to detail that was astounding. Jefferson has an interesting history as also their home. We learned a lot from Julie about present day Jefferson which has a plethora of antique stores, countless historic homes and an Historical Museum that had a surprising quantity of important exhibits chronicling the region's past. We will be back.

This Labor Day weekend I was fortunate to be a guest at Green Gables of Jefferson. The home is…read moregorgeous and my fabulous hosts Marty and Julie Stewart have lovingly and with careful detail intertwined their own family history into the house with old family photos and other mementos, while still showcasing the house's history and the history of Jefferson itself. You can tell they love their home, their town, and their guests, and take pride in making you feel welcome. In fact, they took me on a golf cart ride around town and showed me some of the finer points as it wasn't busy that night and said golf carts were complimentary for guest's use. My cottage was huge with an adjustable mattress, free streaming TV with Hulu and snacks and soft drinks or water if I should get hungry while watching. There was plenty to read about the history of Jefferson, the house, or things to do, with a list specific to that weekend. There was a wonderful shower/ tub combo with all the toiletries I could need. There were plenty of extra blankets, pillows and Siri (for any music genre to sing me to sleep). BTW, the bed was so comfy, I told them I needed one for home. Outside I had a porch with rocking chairs, there's a gazebo, and a common area with chairs and a fir pit for cooler weather. You are also welcome in the common areas in the house. Breakfast the next morning was amazing. There was a delicious breakfast casserole, sausage, sliced avocado, and watermelon with blueberries. The evening prior I had dinner at Haywood House which was delicious, also one of many favorites of my hosts. Just ask. They are foodies and give great recommendations! It was a wonderful weekend with family and meeting new friends. Marty and Julie are amazing hosts! I look forward to returning to Green Gables for years to come!

The rooms were immaculate and perfect for our needs. The breakfast... everyday is exquisite!! Quiche, omelettes, angel food cake French toast, fresh fruit,... that is just a start!!! Jessie is an amazing chef!! Lacy was always there with a smile and her charm and wit!!! Homemade Bloody Marys and Mimosas add to the wonderful ambience of this charming B &B!! The hospitality was unmatched!!! We felt like family and great friends immediately. I can't say enough!!! The entire experience in Jefferson at the Carriage House was PERFECT!

Some of the spaces are wide and well maintained (western side of highway,) so make sure you pay for the upgraded space. If not, the space is tiny and cramped. They have a great concept including camping in teepees, covered wagons, and other nice looking cabins, but the facilities are running down quickly due to NO maintenance.

The house was not NEARLY as active as I had hoped it would be, I did have the spirit of Daphne Young trying to communicate with me a majority of the tour though! The owner of the house/tour guide was super informative and kind. You could tell he loves giving tours, loves his home, and loves all the spirits that reside there. It was a super fun way to spend our Sunday morning/afternoon!

Timm and Karen Jackson are the lovely owners of this little delight and they made our stay so warm and unforgetful. We were able to bring our dog with us so that was amazing. The house is quaint and well managed and each room has a different theme. The breakfasts are so delicious. I loved waking up each morning to the smell of a hot breakfast cooking downstairs. Timm and Karen Jackson are the most gracious, caring, kindhearted innkeepers we have ever had the opportunity to meet. They showed their home with pride, and obviously loved every minute of what they did. The breakfasts were always begun with a smoothie to "wake up your taste buds," and finished with friendly, comfortable conversation that made leaving to explore the history or he area a very hard thing to do! I know that Timm and Karen had been trying to see the home for a few years, and while I secretly hoped they'd have to run it forever, I am so happy to know that they found the right buyer and are happily moving on to the new adventures life is bringing them. We'll miss the Hale House Inn, terribly, but we'll miss Timm and Karen the most.
