I just wanted to write a quick review about the Northwood gym in Santry. The gym itself is very good and well laid out, equipment is well maintained. My annoyance is the reception that I received OR more to the point that I didn't receive.
I am not a new member to the Den Dunne chain of gym as I was a member to the gym in Blanchardstown. However, I am a new member to the Northwood gym. I arrive at the gym late last week looking to join and pay for the membership in the gym. I was told they do not accept cash, so I had to go online and pay that way, which is understandable. I did that and went to the gym the following morning to complete my membership and get my card.
What annoyed my was this, the member of staff that was completing my membership, SERIOUSLY needs some customer relations training. I got no Hello!, nor did I get a Welcome to Northwood Gym, How can I help you. Instead I got a straight face with no smile welcoming me to the gym, given that I am paying just short of €300 as a NEW member, as I said a NEW MEMBERSHIP.
Also, as a NEW member I was not given a tour of the gym to show the facilities or I wasn't given the option of coming back by appointment to have a tour. I was just given my membership card and was told "There you go". Then she turned away. Very unprofessional. I have been a member of many gyms over the years, this experience falls well short of what I expect of this type of Gym, given the advertising that is out there promoting it.
As being an experienced Gym member, I was lucky I was able to sort myself out in the gym with a routine on the machines. If you where a NEW member to the gym, you would be left standing at the desk after given your card. You would have to ask, "Could you be shown around", in my experience, a customer should not have to ask. The staff should OFFER first.
Also while I was in the West point Gym, I was offered the Gym bag and towel with the Gyms crest on it. Nothing offered here. read more
