I LOVE Dr. Hallmeyer!…read more As a former gymnast, I started receiving chiropractic care starting at age 13 (I'm now 41). I suffer from spinal injuries, compressed and degenerating discs, and cervical spine stenosis, all of which have me in pain most days. My major complaint for the past 10 years has been chronic, debilitating headaches that last for weeks on end. These headaches would have me in tears and in bed. Nothing I tried help. I have had multiple MRIs, x-rays, tried acupuncture sessions, massage and medication to no avail. About 6 months ago a friend told me about NUCCA therapy and Dr. Hallmeyer. I had zero clue what NUCCA was but being desperate for any relief I gave it a go. OMG! Life. Changing. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that the care and attention paid by Dr. Hallmeyer and NUCCA technique would actually help. I even went into it thinking it wouldn't help (pessimistic I know). But GUESS WHAT!? This is the real deal. Within the first couple of months Dr. Hallmeyer treated the misalignment in my cervical spine, which actually started to hold! Despite this, my headaches were still occurring. Dr. Hallmeyer went a step further and did a follow-up x-ray right in the office to re-evaluate my cervical spine. He found something there that he thought might treat my headaches so he gave it a go. AMAZING! Within a day or two my headaches were gone. GONE! With the tiniest of pressure on just the right spot, he was able to move my spine into a different position, relieving the exact location that was causing my headaches. 10 years of searching for relief and it was really THIS easy! I still get headaches on occasion but we're new into this adjustment and my cervical vertebrae still slip out of position sometimes. I have a high stress job and I don't doubt that it plays a roll in that plus allergies and a couple of other medical issues that cause headaches. BUT whereas before I was suffering every single day, my headaches have been reduced to around 5 days a month! Dr. Hallmeyer has significantly increased my quality of life, my hope, and faith in medical care providers. He is fun, caring, compassionate, empathetic, and really cares about you and your wellbeing. My favorite part is that he continues to learn everyday! If you suffer from spinal injuries and headaches, do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Hallmeyer, you won't regret it!

His style of chiropractic medicine, called NUCCA, sounds strange at first. How could you possibly fix my lower back and hips by adjusting ONE joint in my neck? But I promise, it really works! After about 3-4 of his gentle adjustment sessions, my lower back pain was gone, my leg lengths had equalized, and I could work out again without pain or fear of reinjury. That's when we began to space my sessions out as planned. Dr. Hallmeyer's goal is to cure you, not keep you coming back forever for weekly adjustments. Not only is his practice extremely effective, but he's such a nice guy, that I always looked forward to my visits with him. His model is effective, reasonably priced, and honest. I give him all the stars!

This review is long overdue but I feel it's necessary to provide my input on my experience…read more I had ongoing shoulder pain that progressively got worse over time to the point where it was bothering me throughout the day. I searched Yelp and found Gabriel Goldman nearby with stellar reviews. Little did I know Yelp would steer me wrong. I setup an appointment and met up with him a few days later for a consult. He seemed very confident and told me that it would take many sessions and it may be costly but he would resolve my issues. He examined my shoulder and diagnosed me as having a lot of scar tissue in my shoulder from injuries and possible overuse. Now to the appointments.... I saw him a total of 6 or 7 times. Each appointment consisted of electrical stimulation/heat for about 20 minutes followed by about 10 minutes of ultrasound and then another 20 minutes manual therapy/massage. There was also an occasional adjustment during some visits. These are some of the issues I had during my visits: 1) The heat cuffs/blankets do not have any cover on them. Each patient sweats profusely with it and it is not cleaned at all between visits which seems quite unsanitary. 2) I never once saw anybody wipe down or clean the patient tables in the treatment room or the adjacent room. This should be standard practice. Again unsanitary practice. 3) The electrodes on the e-stim machine should be replaced after each patient. The electrodes were just reapplied back onto a plastic sheet and used on the next patient (Gross). 4) The end of the ultrasound device was never sanitized. The gel was just wiped off with a paper towel. The breaking point for me is when the manual therapy/massage left me severely bruised. The bruising was so bad I couldn't use my shoulder normally during times. The entire back side of my shoulder was left with HUGE dark bruises. Family members and my girlfriend were blown away when they saw the extent of the bruising. Gabriel Goldman told me this was normal and part of "breaking down the scar tissue." The tool he used to do a lot of this therapy was "a rock that he found on the beach." What the f....? Some of the normal things I had difficultly doing after these sessions included driving, showering, putting on a shirt, etc. What irked me is that he continued with the same treatment even though there was a lot of bruising and obvious pain and he stated it was ok and part of the process. I was already compensating with wrong muscles when I had my injury and this no doubt added to it, at least in my mind. My friend who is an MD advised me to stop this therapy and get an MRI to rule out anything serious. He told me to get the potential diagnoses/treatment notes from Gabriel Goldman and send it over to him for review. I called Gabriel Goldman and let him know I need my patient notes and potential diagnosis to review with my doctor friend in an upcoming visit. He got defensive and started asking questions. I let him know I was advised to get an MRI to rule out anything serious. His response was "I could have ordered that for you too." Ok...so why didn't you? So I let him know I would be moving on and he agreed to send me my patient notes. 2 days go by and I hear nothing back. I email him and no response. A day later I call and leave a message and no response. I call again and talk to him. I let him know my appointment is tomorrow and he finally emails me my notes. In the email he states: "Referencing my chart and your initial examination my impressions were that you had a subacromial impingement, but in my comments I had differentials of tendonitis/tendonosis and possible even a partial rotator cuff tear." WOW. Why wasn't any of this mentioned to me during my visits or my initial exam? What ever happened to the "scar tissue" diagnosis? So that is my less than stellar experience. The only upside is that his adjustments were nice (as a chiropractor I would hope they would be). But again I doubt the adjustments had anything to do with my treatment protocol, just another charge to tack onto my insurance charges. I wouldn't waste my money with this kind of care. Please choose wisely.

I can not say enough about Prentice Chiropractic and the work they do to help you get out of pain…read more Not just temporarily, but permanently. I was working with another Dr in the same clinic using StemWave therapy to help a should and neck issue I had been dealing with for 10 years (which I also highly recommend). My shoulder and neck would literally trigger each other in pain and it was extremely hard to do much as a result. I had done an ablation through my pain therapy clinic but that did not solve the issue, it temporarily helped the neck but the shoulder remained on fire. My pain over the last two years was in the 7-9 pain levels. I tried the Stemwave therapy and it was completely helping my shoulder pain. My shoulder pain was gone, but I can tell it was not 100% solving the issue in my neck because it was structural. The shoulder was doing so much better and the triggering of pain between the neck and shoulder was gone, but the neck started creeping back in as ablation started to wear off. For me this was not acceptable and I began to fear the pain coming back with a vengeance. The Stemwave Dr initially told me about the Atlas Orthogonal treatment as a solution and thought I would be a good candidate for it so I reached out to Dr. Prentice and got the ball rolling. SO HAPPY I DID. My pain is a zero in my neck and shoulder now!! I am in ongoing treatment as it is a process to fixing the structural issues that had been present for many decades, not just the past 10 years of constant neck pain I have experienced. I am 100% happy with the results and highly recommend people trying this treatment as a solution, not just a band aid and without surgery or a temporary fix. It is also important for me to mention, I am also doing decompression therapy for a stage 1 slipped disk that keeps on slipping and causing me to not do the living I like to do and though I am early in the process, I am extremely hopeful this therapy will be what I need to fix....not just mask this issue. Stay tuned, I will certainly provide an update once I am on the other side. My goal is to avoid surgery in my back. A stage 1 disk slippage can easily go from 1 to done if one is not careful. To all of you going through pain, do some research on your own as I did and ask yourself, is this masking my issue or truly helping it. I get it, sometimes getting out of pain regardless becomes the goal, but truly healing, well that is where the magic starts.
