It left me somewhat traumatized, I wasn't sure I could do it the way I wanted, and very fearful for another "emergency" situation. My goal with hiring Madeline was to overcome this fear and have a healing and successful ideal birth. And she facilitated that perfectly, beyond my expectations! I knew I needed help with pain management #1, and felt confident in Madeline's approach to help me with that. What I didn't expect was how extremely comforting and helpful she was in the weeks prior birth. I was able to text her questions, worries, concerns, and she always reassured me and calmed my nerves. She was always there for me when I needed her. I ended up having my dream birthing experience - completely unmedicated and natural, and I very much credit this to Madeline's assistance and calming presence throughout the birthing. She helped me through every contraction, and created a relaxed environment. She came to our home for multiple visits, including a post-partum visit, and she provided an awesome "peanut" ball, essentials oils, and other very helpful tools. I paid $75 for 3 hours of in-home classes where we learned what to expect at the hospital (paperwork, what vaccinations/shots/procedures they'll try to give the baby, what I can say "yes" and "no" to, how to make a birth plan), what to physically and mentally expect during labor and postpartum, and how to reach her with questions if needed. She even helped me get more info on labor and delivery with Gestational Diabetes. My husband also felt at ease with her and we really appreciated her coming to our house so we didn't have to make an extra trip out. She even sent us a really sweet card of encouragement and thanks afterward. Thanks so much, Maddy! I'd recommend her in a heartbeat.

They invited us in for a medical-grade pregnancy test to confirm the pregnancy and then did my first ultrasound about a month later, which was cool as it was much earlier than my doctor did my first ultrasound. It offered me so much peace of mind as I was so afraid that years of infertility would lead us down a road of a complicated or unsuccessful pregnancy, so it was very reassuring to see baby's growth was normal and he had a strong heartbeat. My little guy just turned one and I'm still thankful for the help I was given through PRC and I know they were praying for me during my pregnancy. They offered classes and had a lot of resources available. We were unable to partake in them due to life and scheduling, but it's nice that it's there for those who can utilize them! And their OB/GYN recommendation ultimately saved mine and baby's lives as I had a very complicated delivery and my doctor was perfectly qualified for what I went through. I'm so grateful for that!!

I do want to give two shout outs for Dr. Megan Smith and Nurse Lauren. I fully believe that Nurse Lauren saved my baby's life by sending me to the birthing center when my NST was coming out weird, and Dr. Smith had me prepped for a c section within an hour. They cared for me during both of my pregnancies and I didn't have any problems, it was fine care - not great but I never left there crying. Today I did. The steady decrease in quality of care from when I was pregnant to postpartum to perimenopausal was shocking. They failed to diagnose me with PPD after my first child was born. They did diagnose me with it and prescribed meds after my second child was born. My routine exams after pregnancy were fine until I turned 40. Then all of a sudden I want to talk about HRT and perimenopause because it's excrutiating to deal with and the first NP said I just needed to deal with my symptoms. Basically "suck it up". I asked for another provider who after some convincing, agreed to give me HRT. She was very rude and cold to me. The second time I saw her she literally barely looked at me, never smiled, gave me one word answers and seemed so disinterested. I asked her if there were any foods or exercises I could do to help alleviate my symptoms and she straight up said "No," I called and complained about her, receptionist was just as rude. Then finally I got a third NP she was the worst of them all. Barely greeted me, stone cold face and demeaner, one word answers and dirty looks!! IS THIS THE TWILIGHT ZONE?!!! I'm still a human being who deserves care even though I'm not making babies anymore. What ever happened to compassion and care? The disinterest all of these healthcare "professionals" show is quite alarming. I could and do get more helpful information from Google and Midi Health. After being a patient at ECWG for almost a decade, today was the last time I step foot in that office. Run as fast as you can away from this place. If you are not going to birth a child, you do not matter.

She makes you feel like you are the only person in the world for the time you are with her. She remembers details about my life, my health history, that I sometimes forget. She has never once made me like a burden. She is amazingly responsive and has always returned phone calls quickly. Valerie, her staff member, is also kind and caring and never makes me feel uncomfortable, when I feel as though I am calling for quick questions. She always has time to talk with me. During labor Anika had a calming presence and offered helpful ideas to my partner while using hands-on comfort strategies for me. Things began to make sense when I found out she was also a veteran (explains the no nonsense) and then the cherry on top was when I found out she was a woman of faith which she didn't tell me until I pressed her.
