He only looked at x-rays, noted there were no breaks or arthritis, and asked me to extend my legs. I couldn't. I was sent home with pills, diagnosed with inflammation. He literally spent about four minutes with me. I asked Resurgens for another doctor. No. Five months later I was still hobbling. My PCP ordered an MRI and referred me back to Bircoll with torn cartilage, debris and a baker cyst. Again, Bircoll never examined my knee or asked me any questions. He kept me waiting almost two hours so he could look at the MRI. Then he chastised me for getting the MRI, remarking that the results didn't matter because I'm old and I just have to live with it. I don't know if he ever looked at the MRI. Judging by the way he was dodging questions, I think not. I asked how to help my knees heal better, what to do for the pain and swelling, or to help the cyst reabsorb. He flatly refused to answer anything. You go to a doctor for help. This one has done nothing - twice. There won't be a third time.

I continue to use it on a daily basis just because it makes my back feel so good after sitting in an office chair all day, even though my back pain has largely subsided by this point. · At the end of each session he always leaves ample time free to ask any questions · For times when the back pain was especially bad, he was able to do dry needling. The man knows how to work a needle! It always made a very big difference in reducing pain. · In the last session, he walked me through a very comprehensive way to think about the lifestyle of dealing with any back pain that may continue to come up: self-massage with a tennis ball, exercises for strengthening and for generally keeping active, stretches, and "the why" behind it all to ensure I had a good understanding of under what circumstances which of those items would be most effective for what I was feeling. The 20 minute office visit bill was $1346. Even though we purchased a sling at CVS, the "treatment plan" was to wear a sling for two weeks and there was $901 "treatment" cost for this advice. Maybe this is a review of the broken healthcare system in this country, but this office definitely takes full advantage to over charge their patients. The injury healed with no issues or real treatment besides the sling. Unless you are sure something is really wrong, be prepared for a bill comparable to an ER visit.
