I realize that Dr Wolf has moved to Grandview but still feel the need to post this review of him…read morewhen I saw him at Birmingham Orthopeadics. I was hit by a car as a pedestrian February 8 2018. and was referred to him. He based my total medical care on the X-rays and CT from the ER. He sent me straight to Physical Therapy without any further diagnostic testing. Several weeks later I continued to not be able to walk on left leg and upon seeing Dr Wolf again, I was advised "it would just take time for me to heal". A few weeks later I was told the same thing and PA was very rude saying he couldn't believe I couldn't walk on left leg. Finally around 9 weeks post accident an MRI was ordered after asking for one to be performed. The report indicated a Glut- Medius year with possible tendon involvement. Upon a phone call to Dr Wolf I was told by his PA that the MRI was normal and was being sent to a Back Specialist. (By this point I was having severe back pain and spasms due to overcompensating on opposite side). When questioning what I was told, the PA yelled at me and said "I'm just telling you what the man said"! Needless to say, I was told by the back doctor that there wasn't anything he could do. Finally after months of not being able to walk or put any pressure on my left leg, I was able to get in with another HIP Specialist who in my opinion, was a God Send and my Angel! He immediately looked at MRI and said I definitely had a tear and needed surgery. My hip surgery was the end of July. I was told that the injury was much worse than expected and was in a brace for weeks and continued PT for 12 weeks. I finally was released from the Hip specialist in November 2018. I just want to make it clear that I had the worst experience ever with Dr Wolf's office and felt very judged and stereotyped. Plus I was progressively getting worse instead of better. Could that have been a result of sending me straight to PT and performing exercises that were making things worse? I am a nurse of 20+years and would never treat a patient as I was treated in that practice!

I had a wonderful doctor there for a few months (Dr. Jerew) that had the heart of a physician, but he moved out of state. Although not a specialist, he helped quarterback my health care. I was turned away by the Covid nurse because I had other issues and she said it wasn't long covid. When asked about my heart rate getting too slow, she said, "drink some caffeine." And yet the specialists are saying my issues originated with Covid. After Jerew, I was sent to Kay Willoughby In October and I told her my struggles with PCPs and that I just needed bloodwork twice a year, treatment for infections (sinus, etc.), and refills for very simple medications that haven't changed in over a year. I offered every opening to say "no, go see another doctor."My specialists send updates and my care is not intensive nor does it require even Pallative care. Just simple refills for very simple medications. I was told last week that Dr. Willoughby requested that I move to an internist. No problem. I started looking and couldn't get an appointment before about a month. then I received a message saying she would not refill medication. These are very simple medications, but I have to be on them. So I'm left with no beta blocker Which is the smallest dose possible, but vital to my health. I do not recommend this clinic any longer. And that hurts my heart because my entire family has been patients for over 40 years.

Jeff is very knowledgeable in therapy, diet, lifestyle, etc. I am not 100% yet, but I am almost pain-free and have hope for the first time in a long time. Saw the 1 star review where patient was unhappy about buying new straps for her knee brace. Don't let that put you off, these are very professional folks who provide a welcoming, bright and cheery place to make you better. J.C.

I had to go to their location to have it fitted, etc. and a referral document was required for this item and a co-pay. Jeff, the manager, fitted the brace and sent me on my way. Now I've been wearing the knee brace every day ever since I received it and I need to get new straps for it because the ones on it are worn out. I currently have pieces of towel taped to the straps to keep them from rubbing me raw. These straps can be replaced. I cannot order them directly from the manufacturer and have to go thru the place I purchased them from, as per the manufacturer, so I had to contact my Drayer location listed here. I have contacted them by phone and thru facebook and cannot get a call back, return post, letter by mail, email, or any such out of them as to what to do to get the replacement straps. I have tried 3 times. They will not tell me if I need to get paperwork from my doctor to get the straps, or anything like that. I do realize there's probably a payment for them involved. By the way, my account is and has been paid in full. After waiting a month total of time since my first contact attempt, I contacted their home office in Pennsylvania 1 1/2 weeks ago and have not heard one thing from them either. I don't know what is wrong at all but this is very poor customer service. I will be making a comment to my doctor, an ortho surgeon, also since he's the one that sent me to them. I would not recommend this company and its location for anything related to equipment you might ever need. I have not used their physical therapy services so I cannot comment on that. But don't expect this company to do phone calls, emails, or even smoke signals.

The Kirklin Clinic (5/5) has always pulled through for me. They are the main reason I moved back to…read moreBham in the first place since my physician was here. The quality of care I have received has been more consistent than it has not. There have been one or two individuals I haven't cared for, but I took the proper channels to address them. Parking is a pain like any other medical facility so be sure to account for that when deciding your arrival time. Be aware of EVERYONE walking in the garage. Someone will pop around a vehicle in a blind spot quickly. They have coffee that you can purchase at the cart or Starbucks if you just really need it. Sneaky Pete's and Wall Street Deli are easily accessible if you don't bring your own food, snacks, drinks and of course there are other options you can walk or drive to if able (sending someone else is ideal if you're here for treatments instead of a regular appt). Bathrooms are clean/checked often, facility is clean, most staff is pleasant/helpful. I find it easy to navigate by following the signage. Add some additional time for elevator wait times in case they are busier than normal. This is a high traffic building in general. My main complaint (0/5) is with the changes in the 5th floor infusion clinic (I can't speak for other areas). The individual that took them over at the end of last year has made several changes. One of the main ones I find an issue with is claiming there is no budget for snacks or drinks for the patients anymore. It used to be customary to offer a snack and drinks upon receiving your treatments to help with nausea, mask the horrible taste you have while receiving treatments, provide something for your time there, etc. I bring my own anyway, but there are several individuals who simply forget, don't focus on it because or pain or discomfort, or cannot afford to do so. There were 6 complaints I heard in the pod I was in for my most recent treatments over this change. I loveeeee the nurses here and even they aren't pleased delivering the news each time. UAB makes entirely too much money to claim $.05 cheez its, peanut butter crackers, chips, etc are out of budget. They offered that and more plus ginger-ale, juice, other sodas or water for years! The little things tell you if a facility cares about/values you as a patient. If you think people don't notice - they do. Even from something the higher ups feel is so small.
