I was a mechanic but can't do everything in my yard or on my own anymore so I started using Driven because they were originally 5 minutes from me in Upper Hammonds Plains. Their work has always been top notch and I'm picky. When my mother-in-law was still driving, I sent her to Driven and they were really good to her and she liked them. This is unfortunately not every senior woman's experience in getting car work done. The only problem I've ever had with Driven is them doing work beyond the scope of my initial appointment without my approval. Hard to fault them for wanting to make everything right. Not everyone has the capability to possibly fix the next issue themselves like I do.

I got quotes from O'Regan Collision and Keizer Collision. O'Regan's quote was actually a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than the Keizer one. But O'Regan was booking for mid-November. For Keiser, I could get my work done in mid-September. I had been to Keizer several times over the last 20 years. I was confident in their expertise. I had no qualms about having them do the work. I was delighted when I saw my car after the body work was done. It looked as good as it did when I purchased it (used) four years ago. Overall, Keizer Collision fully deserved a five-star rating. From the time I went to get the car evaluated, to the time I paid and left, every staff member I saw was smiling, and a pleasure to interact with. Their actions were confident, thorough and professional. I felt special while in their presence. I won't hesitate to return should I ever need any kind of repairs or bodywork.

They're really straight-forward, down-to-Earth and don't try to upsell you. They'll let you know if there are parts that can wait to be replaced or if they need to be done right away. Once my car had a sporadic strange noise and when they couldn't find an issue on my first visit, they told me to drop in any time it was doing it without making an appointment. (They've since figured it out and fixed it.) They offer taxi chits if you need to drop your car off and go somewhere and come back. I am a repeat customer because of their customer service and recommend them regularly. The only drawback at this location is that sometimes parking can be hard to find. When that happens, I usually just pull up in front of the window and pop in to ask where they want me to leave the car. It also helps that they have a 10% CAA discount!

When I moved to Halifax 3 years ago, I asked around for a good mechanic. My landlord had recommended a place in Bayer's Lake that was out of the way and very expensive. When I called back, they were rude and visibly annoyed, so obviously I wouldn't be going back to them anytime soon....!! Enter...Duffus Auto. After several recommendations by 2 friends and 3 different Cab Drivers around the city, I decided to take my car to Duffus Auto on the corner of Duffus and Agricola Streets. While the outside is shabby as heck and often looks like it was caught in a sandstorm (nevermind the inside, which is literred in faded car posters + gas adverts from the 70s), the service is no-nonsense and prompt. Duffus Auto reminds me of that greasy spoon of a diner that is in everybody's back pocket. "Serves the best pancakes south of the river!" But instead of pancakes, of course, Duffus Auto serves up reliable fixes at decent prices. The owner is fast and tells-it-like-it-is. Best part is that he puts pride in his work and has told me several times to bring it back if I find something wrong with the repair - he'll look at it for free. I must say, 3 years later, I still go to him every time there's a problem.
