I had a revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Ben Talei after knowing him for years and genuinely believing he was a friend--not just a doctor. I originally met him during my time as Miss Nevada USA, and we built what I thought was a trusting, professional relationship. When it came time for surgery, I was told they didn't take insurance. Yet my insurance was later billed and paid nearly $70,000, on top of the $17,000 I paid out of pocket. He acted like he was doing me a favor and giving me a deal--but clearly had no issue accepting both payments. On top of that, the procedure was done in his own in-office surgery center, meaning he was profiting from both the surgical fees and the facility fees. At no point was I given a full, itemized breakdown explaining what I was paying for versus what insurance was being billed. That lack of transparency should be a major red flag for anyone considering surgery here. To my insurance company, he claimed in the medical records that my nose was going to collapse if it wasn't corrected--deeming the procedure medically necessary. Looking back, it felt like he knew exactly what to say to get the highest payout. I later found out that some charges--like those for the anesthesiologist--may have been billed to both me and my insurance. When I contacted the insurance company, they told me if they had known the surgery was cosmetic, they never would have approved payment. The fact that he owns the surgery center and profits from both ends of the procedure feels like a conflict of interest that wasn't disclosed to me at the time. What was most disheartening wasn't just the money--it was the shift in how I was treated. Once he became more well-known, the professionalism and care disappeared. I recently had a consultation with Dr. Ben Talei, and overall, it was a great experience. The consultation fee was $500, and I was required to submit photos beforehand for approval--standard practice for highly sought-after doctors, whether plastic surgeons or not. Before my visit, I was able to see on their website that there are two pricing tiers depending on who performs the surgery. Dr. Talei's pricing is undeniably high--his Auralift procedure, including facility and anesthesia fees, comes to $92k. This does not cover additional costs, such as a $2k one-night stay at a nearby post-surgical aftercare facility, which includes a driver and nurse. It also does not include any work done on or around the eyes, which was additional $50k (upper/lower blepharoplasty & brow reset). For those seeking a more affordable option, there is an alternative: Dr. Talei has two associate surgeons whose pricing is roughly one-third of his. While their names and credentials were not discussed in detail during my consultation, I was informed of this option only when I inquired. I was told that these surgeons were trained by Dr. Talei and deliver results of the same high standard. The estimate I received was specifically for Dr. Salehi Parsa, MD. Additionally, scheduling with one of the associates appears to be faster than securing a surgery date with Dr. Talei. There were a couple of minor drawbacks in my experience. First, scheduling my consultation was frustrating--Jennifer, the receptionist, was difficult to get ahold of, and we played phone tag for over a week. Eventually, I lost patience and asked another receptionist to schedule me instead, and it was handled immediately. Second, I would appreciate more transparency about the alternative, lower-cost surgical option. I only learned about it after asking their patient coordinator, which makes me wonder if it's not in their interest to actively promote it. Considering the vast price difference--$35k versus $90k--I think more patients would benefit from knowing all their options upfront. That said, my first impression of Dr. Talei and his practice was very positive. He was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. I think Dr Talei is a genius, and this is not an exaggeration. I seriously doubt if any other plastic surgeon is as well-versed about not only surgery, but fillers, fat transfer, how light falls on and reflects off of one's face. Very impressed that Dr. Talei called me when he found out that I was disappointed that I was told that my deposit and prior quote was lost due to the fact that my mother is dying of pancreatic cancer. I had moved the surgery prior and was told that another change of date would not be possible. I inquired about a consultation and received an email a day later that came across so impersonal and as though they are trying to avoid new patients. I had requested consultations with 3 plastic surgeons and will ultimately choose the one I feel most comfortable with (surgeon and staff), as it has been my experience (lesson learned) that the supporting staff is a huge factor in your overall experience. One thing they got right in their email to me is "there are many variables when it comes to surgery" and they need to realize how true that is for their patients/prospective patients as well! Before agreeing to even schedule a consultation they require a preliminary evaluation. I guess if they "like you" then there is a $500 consultation fee required to book the consultation but, unlike many other surgeons, the consultation fee is not applied toward the cost of surgery. They are currently booking consultations about 6 months out. For me, the impersonal and unwelcoming email I received was enough to mark Dr. Talei off my list of prospective surgeons to be considered for my upcoming procedure. I can only speak about his disposition, as I did not have any procedures here. We just spoke as I was getting a second opinion. My caretaker/ assistant was w me. We were both curious WHY I would have this electrical reaction. It's one for the books. It's a shame my life/ brain/ face was not saved in time, preferably that day, and then put me in a test tube. It's scientific knowledge that may further science in some way. It's never been seen before. There is information here. He doesn't use the device that took me out of life. These days, the money is in the repairs. One doctor who was on a TV show for a while is charging 80-100k to fix the damage ( Rumor is he is fixing Kim K). I had a few friends come to Dr. T, with nothing but rave reviews. The office staff is VERY sweet and professional. I was going to treat my caretaker to facetyte, as she has a double chin. He explained the system. That's the one doctors are using for saggy necks and double chins these days I guess. He was realistic about how much fat it would remove on her, and safety. I got a brow lift from Dr. Talei 5 yeaes ago and it was horrible. First want to say he is a nice dr. And tries hard to seem interested. But once you commit to surgery they completely drop the ball. They gave me Zero instructions Where to go on day of surgery. I arrive in the morning and literally going around the all the offices which was empty of people and I end up just sitting on one random room when Dr. Talei comes and was shocked to see me sitting there and then instructed me where to go which was totally another location. He was surprised no one told me prior where to go. As for my results.. the worst scar in Front of my hairline that after 5 yrs is still visible! .. the incision made some weird dent in front of scar and a weird hump behind it so my hairline and forehead looks weird. But Worst part is there is literally and I mean literally zero difference!!.. not a single improvement and now I have a horrible scar!.. He makes this determination based solely on photos, and without seeing me in person. I have had at least 5 other plastic surgeons tell me that I am a good candidate. Dr. Talei is 100% a sweetheart and pointed me in the right direction to restore my buccal fat pads after they were removed as part of TMJ corrective jaw surgery, even though he doesn't offer the procedure he recommended. The office called less than an hour after I left with the referral. Thank you! It can be an emotional topic because I never asked for my buccal fat to be removed, wasn't made aware of the longterm effects and it hollowed out my face significantly. Three stars because scheduling was so strange. I had a virtual consultation set up for Sept 3rd @ 6:30pm but got a voicemail last month that the 9th was open for an in-person appointment. I wasn't able to reach them on the phone the next day, so sent a quick Instagram message (where I originally reached out) to make sure they knew I was available & not lose the slot. When it was "liked" but not verbally confirmed, I emailed Anna to check in. I'm pretty sure she's the one who called me (since we were already in contact via e-mail), confirmed the in-person slot was still open and moved my 9/3 6:30pm virtual appointment to 9/9 12pm in-person. Then I saw a missed call from their office yesterday morning while driving to the appointment. Called back and they asked to push my *virtual* appointment back a few hours. Hold on - virtual? I was so confused. It didn't seem to matter what I said, they said my in-person appointment was never confirmed. That doesn't make any sense because I didn't have any other reason to change my appointment from the 3rd to the 9th. It was literally only moved because the in-person appointment was confirmed! I don't mind a virtual consultation, that was the original plan, but receiving a phone call like this halfway to the appointment was frustrating. A simple I'm sorry we need to change your appointment back to virtual would've sufficed! Even day-of! These are insane times, shit happens. After explaining all of this & getting emotional because I felt like I was being gaslit, they said I could still come in at 12:30pm and the appointment ended up being a great experience. Anyway, lesson learned. Always ask for written confirmation! People make mistakes and I would've been fine changing my appointment back to virtual or rescheduling. The frustrating part was that I was already on my way to the appointment from the other side of town and there was no acknowledgement of even the possibility that something might have gone wrong on their end. read more

I had a consult with this doctor like 1.5 yrs ago. I flew out like 3 hrs to come and see him. I waited over an hour past my appt time to see him, and even when i was roomed i could here him chatting it up with his employees in the next room. Totally un-professional. I consulted with Dr. Talei after seeing his amazing work on Instagram. I was so wowed by his talent. Amongst all the plastic surgeons I had seen the work of, he by far seemed to be the most talented. My consult was so thorough and enjoyable. His office is a beauty by itself. That baby piano in the waiting room made me realize dr. Talei is a an artist at heart. The staff is super professional and kind. He explained to me how and what would work best for me. He was never pushy and was totally honest about what I needed. What I enjoyed the most is that he's super friendly and you don't feel anxious like you would at a medical office. I found him untrustworthy and untruthful. TIP: On signing the consent form, prior to surgery, be sure to fill the remaining space after the procedure list with a scroll, so nothing can be altered.
