What I was handed was a cookie in a paper bag, and the chocolate was literally melting and soaking through the bag. If you sell single cookies and offer customers the option to add birthday gift packaging, you should have appropriate packaging available--or at minimum offer another box that will safely hold the cookie. Putting a warm, chocolate-covered cookie into a paper bag that it immediately starts melting through is not an acceptable substitute.

They've been around since 2012 and offers a variety of treats; from macarons, cupcakes, bars, pies, truffles, and cookies. There are three locations; Avon, South Windsor, and West Hartford. This one in Avon is super cute and whimsical; love the decor with the picture frames on the wall. There was a table and some chairs to enjoy your treats. I decided to get a few macarons, bars, and a cupcake. All were so good but my favorite were the macarons. They were the perfect texture, lightly crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. This place is definitely a gem and I can't wait to go back!

We went back and forth with the options. Bella was extremely accommodating and helpful in making decisions for our cake. Since it was just going to be five of us, the owner, she suggested we go with a 4" square cake. In speaking with her, it became clear her passion for making her customers happy. She was excited about "playing with candy rocks" and came up with all sorts of creative ideas. When I picked up the cake, Bella greeted me outside with a mask and kept her distance. I felt very safe picking up. She was super friendly and kind! It was so obvious how much she took pride in her work. And then later that night- we revealed the cake. It was obvious why she took so much pride in it! It was literally the most gorgeous cake I've ever seen in my life. See pictures attached. Every side of the cake had a realistic scene. When we brought it out to my son, his face completely lit up!!! The look on his face was worth every. Single. Dollar. We showed him each side of the cake and he legitimately squealed, with his excitement growing more and more with each side. This cake was so beautiful that it pained me to cut into it. However, we just had to taste it. Boy, was it worth cutting into! The chocolate cake was moist, delicious, and not sickeningly sweet like many cakes can be. My parents, who are the pickiest people when it comes to desserts, even commented on how perfectly done it was. We ended up getting about 8 servings out of the 4" cake because it was pretty tall. They had been posting a lot about their Egyptian dukkah bagels. I love dukkah (they use cardamom, sesame seed, clove, paprika, fennel & E.V.O.O.), so I ordered that as my bagel choice for their Blue House sandwich. They have many brilliant sandwich options as well as the option to build your own. They also have many house made schmears, pastries and other goodies. They even do stuffed bagels. I believe they are a completely, if not predominantly, sourdough based bakery. So my sandwich, the Blue House, had egg, white cheddar, heirloom tomato, greens, and herb aioli. Watching them make the sandwich was incredible and a treat in itself. The level of care and craftsmanship they put into each sandwich is rare. I could tell which one was mine and just had a blast watching! Very happy foodie. The bagel was toasted just enough, but the chewy sourdough texture wasn't lost. It was a remarkable bagel. One of the best I have ever had. I hesitate to call it the best after just one visit, but it was good enough to entertain that thought. The sourdough recipe also made it extremely light and it agreed with my finicky health/dietary needs better than any other bagel I've had in years. The topping ratios were just perfect. Rarely do bagel sandwiches with an aioli have enough, and they put plenty without making it overly saucy. Just brilliant sandwich construction, which really is not taken seriously enough. I brought a French toast bagel to my mom with a tub of their apple & honey cream cheese, which I tasted of course. Whipped and super light. Flavor unlike any other schmear I've had before. It was an incredible flavor. My mind really was blown. Everyone working was cheerful, warm, and friendly. It was a wonderful environment, and from what I had seen on social media it seems like it's always that way and I great place to be with passionate people behind it. The bread was airy, chewy, and perfectly golden brown. I did enjoy the latte I got because of how bold the coffee was. The beans were roasted perfectly and made the drink itself very smooth and robust. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Everyone seemed very pleasant and the environment itself was very cool. There are also the usual self checkout lanes, with the regular staffed lines. It's also located in a convenient complex with quite a few retail shops and a Panera. Most likely as the throngs of shoppers descend, the experience will degrade accordingly.

I loved the prepared foods section; the smell made me salivate. Pro tip: don't go there hungry. They had rotisserie chicken, prepared sides, sushi, and fresh produce. If you want to preorder a cake, download their app and schedule a pickup. I think the prices were comparable to other standard grocery stores nearby. Overall, a good market to get all your grocery shopping needs.
