This is a quaint shop with nostalgic feel to the interior. There were samples available and cones of many varieties ( chocolate dipped, sprinkles). The attendant was helpful and pleasant. We chose to eat outside where they had tables and chairs. It was a nice experience and the ice cream was delicious. I had mango which was sweet and perfectly creamy. The waffle cup was crispy and the coating weird not impact the texture. read more

I enjoyed this Ben & Jerry's location. The inside dining area was clean, and they also had outdoor seating available for when its a nice day out. It's a great spot to stop by if you're passing through. The ice cream is the same consistent quality you'd get from the grocery store, so I wouldn't say there's a huge difference in the product itself, but the staff here was helpful and moved quickly. Overall, a solid stop for a sweet treat! read more

PLEASE THINK OF ELDERS I was there with my wife and her niece. I thought when we entered the door was heavy. When we went to leave, we were shocked how hard it was to open. I know they make tools that can test the pressure on a door to determine if it meets ADA. I know that Dor wouldn't come close to meeting anything. Looking up I noticed a closer is quite old. Please call a door company like Buck Run downtown. I'm sure they could do something to improve this situation before somebody gets hurt. We love your place. We want to keep bringing our family. Our first visit here. No surprise with the ice cream, it was very good. Just not excited with the location and decor of the store. Customer service was average meaning if I want this brand of ice cream I'll get it at the grocery store. read more

A nice place to get ice cream. Lot of flavors to choose from. The staff were friendly. There is outdoor seating as well. The brownie here was amazing. I would definitely go for the brownie with ice cream (if you haven't tried). Street parking is free but not might be available all the time. read more

I know Ben & Jerry's is a chain but I've never actually went to the shop to try the ice cream so I've never had a chance to try the vegan flavors so I was excited to try it! It's very good but it's a bit heavy for me. I started getting tired of it around half way since it was sweet. But I'd like to try the other vegan flavors as well! read more

I frequent the Pine Club next door, so depending on what time I leave there, I will make the walk over to the Ben and Jerry's store to enjoy a scoop or two. This location is in a very good spot close to the University of Dayton, and other restaurants. It's very clean, with many places to sit both inside and outside. Service has always been good. I've always been a Ben and Jerry's fan and enjoy trying all types of flavors. Milk and Cookies is my favorite to get. Seems like they don't sell this flavor in the stores like they use to, so happy they have it here! read more

This location is in a fun part of town with easy parking. I found a space in their small parking lot with no problems around 6:30p on a Wednesday night. There was only one other person and she was there to pick up a pre-ordered cake. The two employees took care of her quickly and with a smile and then did the same for me. They made friendly conversation and made me feel like they were happy to be working there and happy to chat with a customer. While they didn't have Americone Dream (one of my favorites), they had quite a long list of many other yummy options. There are a few tables and chairs if you choose to stick around and eat there. Or they do have lids and bags if you want it to-go like I did. read more

How could you go wrong with Ben & Jerry's? Well, I don't think you can. We have so much amazing locally made ice cream in Ohio, I think Ben & Jerry's is the only ice cream place that could come from the outside and still survive here. This location is on Brown Street by the University Of Dayton. There is on street parking, or for Ben & Jerry's there is a pretty decently sized parking lot in the back of the building. I've never been to a Ben & Jerry's "Scoop Shop" beside this location. So I figure most people haven't been to one. What doesn't one have besides ice cream? They have Milkshakes, Smoothies, and Ice Cream Cakes. You can also buy pints of their ice cream & Ben & Jerry's merchandise. They also offer catering. I usually get ice cream when I'm here but yesterday, I ordered a "Life's A Beach" Fruit Smoothie. It was super tasty and filling. The ice cream is amazing as you should know, and the prices are what you would expect. Not too bad. I will say that this location is pretty small, and they usually are understaffed. Yesterday when we arrived there was only one girl working and probably sixteen people waiting in line. It took forever to get what we wanted but that's not the employees fault. My other negative about this is probably because they are usually understaffed, but this place is always pretty dirty. There are benches out front of the store, and I think during the summer they may even have tables and chair out. If you go here when it's warm I would suggest sitting outside. read more

This Ben and Jerry's store renewed my faith in this chain. The staff was really nice. They also were a hard working bunch. After serving us our very tasty ice cream the staff cleaned and swept the place. It made me feel good about sitting and enjoying myself for a while. This store also has nice outdoor seating. Overall, this ice cream joint has Ben and Jerry's unique and tasty favors and a great attitude! I will go back. read more

We love having a scoop shop around! It's such a fun experience to go and get Ben & Jerry's at an ice cream shop instead of the grocery store. I love that they offer the non-dairy options too. I also find it great they offer milkshakes and sundae's. My only big complaint is lack of seating indoors, but they do have a decent space out front when it's nice. Parking is the other thing, but it's typical of Oakwood. read more

blond lady working was very rude. My group came in about 10 minutes til closing on accident but instead of being served nicely the women complained the whole time. she was making little comments like "thanks for making my life easier!" and it was rude. Even though it is annoying to get late customers, when the store is open you should be on your best behavior. read more

Delicious ice cream at reasonable prices. Wide variety of flavors. High quality ingredients

If you're a fan of the Ben & Jerry's pints in your grocery store, you'll be a fan of the ice cream here. It's the exact same (absolutely delicious) product with tons of flavors and chock full of tasty ingredients. No big shockers to report, so you already know what to expect. We arrived on a Saturday at about 2:00pm and the place was surprisingly empty. And I mean EMPTY -- it took a good 2 minutes for the one employee to finally peek around from the back and acknowledge us. I assume this was the owner: a middle aged man who acted like he was super busy even though we seen him doing nothing and oozed an "I'm much better than you and don't want to be serving people" attitude the entire time we tried to communicate with him. I asked for 3 different scoops in a banana split bowl and he widened his eyes as if I asked to devour 5 pints at once. He was slow getting our sundaes ready and was very skimpy on 2 out of 3 of my scoops. I asked for caramel sauce, and when he opened the lid he said that wasn't possible because something was wrong with it. So I asked for hot fudge, which turned out to be a huge glob that he just threw on 2/3's of my sundae. It wasn't hot or even warm, just thick like when you buy hot fudge in a jar in the store. A bit disappointing. It was clear this owner is not 100% on top of his game. The display case where prepared cakes, cookies and cones should be was TOTALLY empty. The umbrellas for the outside seating were sloppily leaned up in one corner inside the store, which was surprising since it was a super warm Summer day. The owner stayed in the back the entire time we ate our sundaes inside which kind of seemed like he was just hiding from us to avoid any attempt at conversation. Since there was no music playing, no other employees and zero customers we felt like we were dining in an abandoned ice cream shop in a ghost town or something. Very odd for an ice cream shop to be empty in the middle of summer, but I guess that's why they don't have a ton of reviews available on Yelp or any other social review site: this Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop in Dayton just doesn't really care about customer service, and it was pretty obvious during our visit. But B&J's ice cream is always tasty, so that's one plus at least. read more

I love Ben & Jerry's ice cream one of my all time favorites. This location is in the heart of the University of Dayton Brown street district & the legendary Pine Club Steak house is next door. I stopped by on a warm spring afternoon with my Mom. There was a line when we arrived, no surprise on a nice day, but I was surprised by only one associate in the store - she had to take each order, make each sundae, smoothie and then ring in the order. A few of the times she made smoothies she used the same blender container & didn't even wash it out. She didn't even wash her hands after handling money & going back to serving ice cream. We thought about walking out, but really wanted some B&J and had enough I know this is a franchise, but Ben & Jerry's would be appalled by what they saw - we felt sorry for the associate, but she said the owner always has crew members work alone such a same for an iconic ice cream brand. read more

Best ice cream place in dayton! Not only because its good. The employees are so sweet and hard working. I go there about 3-5 times a week after work. Everytime i go in there the same girls work most of the times and i think their names are Sarah and Grace. The sweetest and nicest girls ive ever met. I hope they are getting paid enough for all the hard work they do haha. But now I dont come alone, i come with bunch of my co workers everytime. One of my family member owns an ice cream shop down in Cincinnati, and id like them to work there! Sarah and Grace is the best! read more

Ben and jerrys may at times have a very long line and at others be nearly empty. I blame this on mere chance and not the scoop shop or the employees. Mostly a very clean shop with friendly workers. Very good ice cream for those who like interesting flavors or classics. read more

My wife and I really like good ice cream and we think Ben and Jerry's is the best. We have, in a pinch, chosen other brands, but we always keep coming back to Ben and Jerry's on Brown Street for fresh, hand-packed, pints and quarts. The availability of Ben and Jerry's in prepacked pints at Kroger means we have an alternative place to purchase, but given my druthers, I'ld druther purchase from the little store on the corner of Brown Street and Irving Avenue. The store personnel are always "down home" and friendly, the place is always well-kept, the service is great and the prices are reasonable. Sure, we might stop at a Dairy Queen once in while, but when we want real ice cream it has to be Ben and Jerry's. On a side note, I really like the ice cream at Young's Dairy outside of Yellow Springs (my wife does not), but I've never asked them to pack a pint (or a quart) "to go". Dayton is blessed with lots of fine ice cream parlors, but we really like this one best of all. read more
