Food was okay, I liked the vast menu options- coffee was good too, service was just bad, was waiting for a long time to get the bill

Le Goût du Plaisir - Chocolatine au amande!! Décadente

We stopped at this bakery on our way to Montmorency falls. It was Sunday morning so only the owner…read more(?) was there and so there was no sandwiches or salads available yet. Space is quite large and it appears to have a viewing area to see bakers making the bread/pastries. It even has a large corner designated for kids to play in! We asked the owner if we could have some baguette with butter which he gladly obliged. He took a fresh baguette and sliced about half of it into diagonal pieces, put some butter on the side for us and let us have at it. We also had a cappuccino and latte - both were good. The baguette was nice and fresh, good for a bakery but it's hard to mess up a baguette. Towards the end, we tried a Choquette and that was really, really good. Really enjoyed the light crunchiness and the sweetness of the pastry. Perfect sweetness level and so crispy. I probably could have eaten a ton more if I had less self-control and had more money to spend. It probably pairs really well with a coffee. The owner was nice and only charged us 1$ for the half a baguette - I guess he planned on using the rest of it for other things during the day or just a really nice guy who knew we were tourists in the area based on our terrible French and his resorting to speaking to us in English. We did notice this place seems pretty well known to locals. Tons of people would come in looking for a specific loaf of bread or purchase a mass quantity of croissants at a time. One lady bought a bunch of pastries and let her kids to play in the kid's play area. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area if you need breakfast or an afternoon cappuccino or latte!

Boulangerie Épi'Fanny - Inside of the Raspberry Croissant (4/5)

Every morning we visited Epi'Fanny, we noticed there's usually a moderate line-up (although quite…read morefast-moving) and mostly French-speaking customers (perhaps a popular local spot!) Their Bread loafs/baguettes and croissants seem to be the most sought after. I found the PRICES VERY REASONABLE (~1/3 less of what I usually pay at an Ontario bakery). We've tried: FLAX CRANBERRY LOAF (4/5)- LOVE the textures and the spongey soft bread interior. I found their crust really chewy though and tired my jaw after awhile. Pistachio croissant, Raspberry croissant (4/5) - impressive size and really filled with a milky cream with its respective pistachio and raspberry fruit. Can't say it's the most crispiest or fresh out of the oven...it's more of a soft yet flaky texture. Mille-feuille (4.5) - the fresh raspberry, vanilla bean cream and crispy crunchy layers was such a refreshing treat. Admittedly for me, it was messy to eat. Baguette with cheese & bacon (3/5) - a savoury option, but a bit greasy with all that cheese!

This is a great place for those croissant lovers. It's a must if you are staying at the Hilton…read more It's about an 8 minute walk. But a steep walk back tot he hotel afterwards. Their coffee was ok though. Though, it's still better than Starbucks. The croissants are big here and a great snack to hold you over until lunch. They also have sandwiches and other pastries, but I had to get croissants.
