Here is my honest review for Camden Spring Creek:…read more This apartment is my first apartment I've ever lived in and I think it's fair to review it now, considering I've been living here for more than 6 months now. I'm reviewing based on what I was looking for in an apartment, which is what I'd imagine most people do. PROS The overall exterior is great, the buildings look very inviting and the landscape is always kept up to the 9s. Currently, the buildings are being repainted to and so far they look pretty nice. Interiors are nice, lots of natural lighting and I like the black appliances. The only thing I wish I could change is the laminate countertops, but in this case, the pros outweigh the cons. I have never felt unsafe at my apartment, although while living here I have received emails about car theft, thankfully nothing has ever happened to me. Parking is not an issue for me because I have my own garage... But as for others who may not have a reserved spot, parking will probably be an issue if you arrive later in the evening. Maintenance and service requests response times are PHENOMENAL. Although I have nothing to compare to as I have never lived in an apartment before, I truly think the maintenance team is great. I can count on getting something fixed or looked at the same day I submit my request. Pricing... right now I am content with what I pay as I feel that they are overall providing a happy living environment for me. I'll be sad if my rent goes up if I want to renew my lease, because I genuinely do, so I guess I'll have to wait and see till then. I looked at 2 other complexes when apartment hunting and I honestly felt the most welcomed at Camden. I'm not kissing up here, that's not my style, so trust me when I say, this complex feels like "home". CONS Not sure if this is just my unit, or a recurring issue throughout the complex, but when hot water is used at the bathroom sink you hear a loud knocking sound in return. I've been woken up by my neighbors above me when they use hot water because the knocking sound travels down into my room. Pretty unpleasant; not sure why this is happening, but it shouldn't be happening at a complex that has a lot going for them. Lastly, the gym is teeny-tiny! If three people are at the gym at once, you feel like you are on top of each other! So all in all, the pros outweigh the cons, but my one significant con is the hot water poltergeist knocking issue... fix it and this place is 5 stars!

One Month at Camden Spring Creek -- What an Adventure!…read more I've officially survived my first month! And before anyone gets excited, this is NOT my final review. We're just getting started! The staff have been respectful and supportive, at least face-to-face. But pleasant conversations and actual results are apparently two different amenities. MOVE-IN READY? That's Adorable! My rental history is excellent. My credit? She's had better days, so Camden required a substantial deposit. Silly me assumed I'd receive a clean, functional, move-in-ready apartment. Such extravagant expectations! Instead, I've enrolled in Camden's "Find the Next Problem" program. Every week brings another discovery: dirt, dust, leaking appliances, peeling cabinets, questionable caulking, and a mysterious musty smell. I've filed so many work orders I may add Quality Control Inspector to my résumé. Unpaid, with terrible benefits. THE MYSTERY SMELL -- CAMDEN'S UNSOLVED CASE! ‍ On move-in day, Hope thought the odor smelled like mothballs. A mover suspected mold. Juan from maintenance smelled it but couldn't identify it. They cleaned the ductwork. The smell returned. How thoughtful! The odor is particularly noticeable near my entrance, especially when I return after being away. Apparently, it's more committed to this apartment than I am. Maintenance has tried, and I appreciate that. But inspecting for possible mold or hidden water damage? Absolutely not! Apparently, that's where curiosity ends and the budget begins. Corporate has been responsive. County health guidance confirmed the property's responsibility for safety. What a revolutionary concept! Maria claims an excellent sense of smell but didn't detect it. Our noses disagree; mine reports for duty daily! Abraham says he can't smell. Maybe that's an employee benefit. THE OZONE GENERATOR -- WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG? And then Maria suggested an OZONE GENERATOR! Hallelujah, a solution! Not to the actual problem, of course. Let's not get carried away. She explained that it tackles smoke and cooking odors, especially curry. Fascinating! Nobody's smoking, and I haven't opened a curry restaurant in my living room. IT SMELLS MUSTY! Ozone can irritate the respiratory system, according to the EPA. So let me understand: we won't investigate possible moisture or mold, but we'll consider a machine that produces a respiratory irritant to tackle an unidentified odor? Brilliant! A potential breathing problem to solve a smelling problem! Perhaps the smell disappears temporarily while its source sits behind a wall laughing at us. Why investigate when we can conduct a science experiment? At this point, I'm expecting someone to suggest an exorcism. Frankly, I'd be more comfortable with that! Here's a wild idea: FIND THE SOURCE, FIX THE SOURCE, THEN TREAT ANY REMAINING ODOR. I realize this may require committee meetings and approval from NASA, but I'm willing to wait. THE WASHING MACHINE -- A BIOLOGICAL FIELD TRIP! Abraham handed me the detergent dispenser, which looked like an archaeological excavation: black grime, filthy buildup, and an ancient darkened quarter. I've lived here one month. Unless I've developed supernatural dirt-producing abilities, I didn't cause that! For one ridiculous moment, I actually started cleaning it myself. Then my common sense returned from vacation. Abraham took it back and cleaned it well, to his credit. Unfortunately, that didn't stop the washer leaks. A replacement is promised next week. Perhaps this one will feature the exciting luxury of keeping water INSIDE the machine! THE CABINETS -- CREATIVE MAINTENANCE! Peeling kitchen and bathroom cabinets, rough yellowish surfaces, what looks like paint over deterioration, and old caulking covered with more caulking. Why fix something properly when you can make it look acceptable from six feet away? Apparently, someone confused preventative maintenance with creative concealment. Here's a revolutionary business concept: fixing things correctly the first time may cost less than repeatedly fixing them. Alert the accounting department! THE REAL DISAPPOINTMENT My criticism is about the apartment's condition and make-ready workmanship, not employees who may be doing their best with limited resources. But politeness doesn't replace accountability. I expected cleanliness, working appliances, competent repairs, and no mystery odor. Apparently, the bar is in the stratosphere. I'm beginning to regret leaving my previous apartment. Instead of a fresh start, I've received an unpaid education in maintenance coordination, odor investigation, and documentation. Perhaps Camden should offer continuing education credits. I'll continue documenting the problems and deciding how far to pursue them. I have a little over a year left on my lease. They say time flies when you're having fun. Well, at this rate, it had better grow wings! To be continued...

Despite being so close to all of that, nature is everywhere and there are really some great bike trails and even a nature preserve not far off. It's close to H-E-B, a nice Kroger, and a CVS. The staff was always kind, and took good care of us. No issues there. So why did we leave? Price point. For an apartment built 5 years ago, it was priced the same as a brand new competitive property that we ultimately went with. That being said, I would recommend The Mark. I also feel they were fair on move out and returned part of our deposit, which we were happy about as we expected some to be taken out for damages. Lastly, my only advice to management would be to ditch the god-awful blinds in the units. I will not miss those lol

I have to give a shoutout to Erin because she has been such a big help since we have moved in! We have also really enjoyed the events the front office has put on from ugly sweater parties to bingo night! Secondly, the building is well kept and the apartments are beautiful. I couldn't recommend this place enough as so far our time here as been the best we have ever had at an apartment. I decided to update my review since regional management is unable to handle the issues I'm experiencing. My experience has been very unpleasant and challenging, mostly due to the tenants next door and underneath my unit. If you're sensitive to smoke--especially marijuana, as I am--you definitely should not move here. Smoke travels through the bathroom vents each time the tenant lights up their blunts, and the walls are very thin. I am stuck with this situation until September. Additionally, it feels unsafe, even though a courtesy officer is onsite at night. I have never received a response to my noise complaints--God forbid I were ever in real danger. Now, we are experiencing burglaries and break-ins in this so-called "gated community." This is not luxury living. Good luck in your search.

This isnt a personal attack on them but theyre terribly unorganized, and always lose things. The accounting for this place is a nightmare. Theyve lost money several times, double charged once and always act so surprised when they cant keep track of anything. Anything you email them the seem to just trash or ignore. If you decide to move in here make sure to keep copies of EVERYTHING. They will lose your receipts, money, fees, and documents. Track everythin yourself. I cannot wait until our lease is up so we can move out. 2 stars for cleanliness They pick up trash around the complex but the hallways are disgusting. Although this complex is nice and is a safe place to live the behavior of the manager Melissa is terrible! She is incredibly rude and it is clear that she is way too comfortable treating people like crap and residents should not have to deal with that. This is not a reflection on the rest of the office staff as they are all incredibly nice people to interact with. Moving on to the maintenance manager. He does enter apartments with no notice and I know this because he has done this to me on a couple of occasions and I have made it very clear he does not have the right to enter my unit as he pleases. I don't particularly care for his attitude either. The other groundskeeper is wonderful and a very hard worker! There are multiple residents who have the same complaints especially with the way Melissa treats people and this needs to change. Also, negative reviews are being removed and that is why I think nothing is being done about these issues. If management starts treating people better and maintenance manager stops entering units without permission or notice, it would be a great place to live!
