I brought in a jacket with a broken zipper to be replaced. It was supposed to take weeks. Months later it still wasn't done, even though I kept stopping in every 2 weeks. The season changed and I didn't need the jacket anymore, yet it still wasn't done. I finally demanded the jacket back without the repair. It was all ripped down the seam from where she took off the old zipper. I took the jacket to another tailor who repaired the ripped jacket and replaced the zipper in 2 days. read more

I've used Belsy's in the past and had a great experience. I recently took her a bridesmaid's dress to be hemmed. It was chiffon with layers and was going to cost more to hem than the dress cost but it was what it was. I called her several times to see if the dress was ready with no response. Honestly, I don't think I have ever been to a better tailoring shop. The work is always impeccable and remarkably quick considering how absolutely meticulous she is! Her work is worth every cent, and she is one of the friendliest people I've ever met, greating each person who walks into her shop with a smile and a "hello honey". The shop is always busy and bustling, with folks coming in and out constantly, and yet she remembers her customers' faces and little details about their lives. This is truly a woman who loves her work, and it shows. She may say that "life's not perfect", but her work may very well be! I really don't understand how everyone is writing that she has good prices. I took a bridesmaid dress there to be hemmed and she charged me $65 JUST for it to be hemmed! All of the other bridesmaids I was in the wedding with went to other places and paid $20 for the same dress to be hemmed. If I didn't need the dress done within a few days I would have gone somewhere else. Not only did she overcharge me, but just getting into the store was a nightmare. I woke up early to go on a Saturday morning by 8am and I got there and saw a sign on the door saying that they were closed until Monday. I figured she was on vacation or something so it wasn't a big deal. However, when I showed up Monday morning at 10am which was the opening time, which I actually took off of work to do, no one was there. I waited until 10:30 and still the store was closed. I found the phone number online and called to leave a message. I left her a message saying that I have been waiting outside her store for a half hour and asked her to give me a call when she got in so I could come back because I really needed to get this done. 2 hours go by and still no call! So I decided to call back. She picked up, so she was obviously there. I went in and explained to her I was here at 10 and left her a message and she COMPLETELY ignored everything I told her. If I knew that someone was waiting outside of my store for a half hour waiting for me to get there I would have not only called them right away but would have APOLOGIZED. I didn't get one apology for any of the trouble I had and she obviously didn't knock the price down at all. This business is run terribly and is way overpriced. I wouldn't go back here even if it was for free! read more

Took a silk dress w/ the ticket on to get a hem quote. $17.00. Returned 3 days later after cutting the ticket (no longer returnable) and was now quoted $25 by the same person. Picked up the dress was told sweetly "if you have any concerns, don't be shy...call me". Tried the dress on at home and it was very uneven and poorly finished. Returned to Belsy to see if she could even it out and got a shrug of the shoulders and no assistance. read more
