Ultimately it is well worth the cost. My coach Kevin D. is great. Kevin developed a plan and we worked through a lot of different swing issues. We even did a playing lesson out on the course. I love being able to come in and practice indoors when it is cold/hot outside. I have dropped 2 points off my handicap with the 15 lessons that I took. Looking forward to dropping it some more. Overall I would 100% do it again and I plan on extending my plan out when it's time. If you decide to go this route, you need to put the practice in, if you do not you will have wasted your money. You need to take what you learned in your lesson and practice it and get ready to focus on another topic at your next lesson. Thinking of cost, it is roughly the same as going to any legit PGA level golf instructor. The difference is that you have to pay it all up front at GolfTec. But the added benefit is that you get to come in and practice, using all the technology/equipment, and you do not have to pay for range balls. Final thought, I dropped some money on new golf clubs a year prior to starting at GolfTec. I wish I had taken that money and used it on these lessons first. I would have been much further along than I am now. It's funny that people will spend a bunch of money on equipment and then complain how bad they suck at golf. But they don't want to spend the money on lessons so they can use their shine expensive golf equipment. Just go and do it.

The cost for range balls is a little more expensive than I would like but that doesn't stop me from going. They do offer a membership that makes it more worth it. Matts are in decent shape. I wish they would add more targets to dial in distances. I've got multiple lessons from Brooks Ward and he's a great guy. He adjusts to your play level and is easy to talk to. I was shooting mid to low 80s pretty consistently before meeting with him and now I am into the high 70's low 80's after a few months of adjusting to changes. Our lessons were more focused on swing mechanics and specific shot types. The 6 hole course is a great time if you only have a half hour or if you are teaching someone new to the game.

Rolling hills and obstructed views make this course more challenging than it looks. The greens are fast as a NASCAR track, so beware of that. Try to stay on the fairway, because the rough can easily swallow your ball and is somewhat difficult to chip out of. Overall, great time! Quick six holes to finish up a work day! Great for the short game (no driver needed here). I never took anything less than an 8 iron out of my bag! Highly recommend!

Greens nicely contoured and fun to read. It has really suffered over the last decade or so and my group booked a time with the understanding we wouldn't come back if it was in terrible shape. Short review is the greens have been almost restored to the shape they were in originally. Bunkers had nice sand (I hit enough to know). Most tees and fairways were just ok and were better than we expected although some bare spots exist and definitely winter rules are in effect. There were quite a few players out that day which was good to see. Based on the improvements of the greens and bunkers I give it three stars and would play here again soon. Hoping fairways/tees catch up. This was a jewel when it opened and I wish them luck bringing it back.

They have the trackman which gives you data on the left like impact video, which shows you the ball route and the impact on the head. It's great for practices! You can book bays with your membership for an hour! It is very worthwhile! I was also surprised to see high top chairs as well at each bay for viewing and resting! Super impressed! They have really good sales on tennis, pickleball, and golf clothes and shoes!! The clearance section had shoes at $40! We arrived to a beautiful registration building and a brand-new spa and gym. The property looked…read morealmost empty, but we still had to wait for the hard 4:00 p.m. check-in and were told our room was not ready. The stairs to our room looked worn out and run-down -- the first red flag. When we opened the door we were hit in the face with a strong mildew smell mixed with an overwhelming chemical perfume. Even my wife could smell it, and she lost most of her sense of smell after COVID. The carpet tiles should have been replaced about 20 years ago. I've been in the carpet business for 40-plus years. I know carpet. The rest of the room felt dated except for new ceiling lights. Housekeeping used so much perfume and cleaner to cover the old-carpet odor that it was over the top. Anytime I was in the room I felt dizzy. Dinner at The King's Arms was wonderful. That night we went to bed exhausted and woke up extremely dizzy and nauseous. I could not get out of bed until my wife went to CVS for Dramamine. We were supposed to take our daughter on rides at Busch Gardens that day. The Dramamine helped during the day. The second I walked back into the room, the spinning started again. I did not ask for another room that night because I assumed every room was treated the same. We booked the Woodland Inn, left most of our things at Kingsmill so we could catch the waterpark shuttle in the morning, spent the day at the waterpark, and came back to the same mildew, chemical smell, and dizziness. At that point I was sure it was the room -- not food poisoning, not heat. Online research confirmed those cleaning products can cause exactly this. We moved to the Hilton Garden Inn. Relief. I paid for two extra hotels out of pocket. Friends stayed here the week before. The wife said it did not feel clean and told us to go somewhere else. Her husband said it was nice. We should have listened to her. Four days later I am still dizzy and waking up with a headache. I emailed a manager. He said he talked to housekeeping, they noticed no chemical smell, and they work with those products every day. He took one night off the bill. I will not recommend Kingsmill. They spent millions on a spa and gym for residents and left guest rooms with old carpet and heavy chemical perfume. Do not stay here if you are sensitive to odors. Copy the body into both Google and TripAdvisor. Use the title on TripAdvisor only. If you want a shorter Google-only cut (roughly half this length), say so and I'll trim it.
