Coming from a student perspective I feel that Bellus Academy is paving the way for the Beauty and Wellness industry in regards to providing up to date and advanced education. Before enrolling at Bellus Academy I searched all over the state of Kansas, and researched many different schools, the programs they offered, how many educators were on staff, resources available after graduation and whether I would be able to use my Post 9/11 G.I. Bill. Bellus Academy had all the programs I was interested, Cosmetology, Aesthetics and Massage Therapy, and MOST importunately they accepted my Post 9/11 G.I. Bill. In my time here at Bellus Academy I have experienced just how much passion each and every staff member has for his or her students success. With such a diverse student body, no matter your background or age you will be sure to fit in here. I have learned so many things from my educators in both my Cosmetology and Aesthetics programs that I would be doing an injustice in trying to convey them. The students here are very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about what it is they are doing. In the year and a half that I have now attended this school, between Cosmetology and Aesthetics, I have had many services done, and have enjoyed them all from a hair cut, to Hydrafacial and pumpkin peel facial. I highly recommend Ashley Zanghi for any skin service; she is extremely knowledgeable and creates a very relaxing atmosphere. I absolutely love the entire Murad skin care line that we carry, however I'm sure that anyone that may be reading has or does experience blackheads. I highly suggest Murad's Blackhead & Pore clearing Duo, this product is absolutely amazing, it reduces blackheads and seals your pores, protecting them from environmental pore clogging impurities. After getting a Facial I Highly suggest seeing Mimi Baker to freshen up your hair with a Wella Luxury Blowout. This product helps rebuild the keratin in your hair and leaves if feeling silky smooth for up to two weeks! I'd like to give a shout out to Heather Leigh. I recently got an amputation on my left foot and hate looking at the ugly thing. It's been wrapped up for over 4 months and looked and felt horrible. That being said Heather asked me if I wanted a pedicure. I wasn't sure, I had ad never had one? She assured me it would be good for my feet and she had an Idea for taking my mind off of what was gone and jazzing up what was left. I consider myself as kind of a tough biker and manly man, so when she asked what color I wanted my nails to be I said "WHAATT!?!" She said pick a color with such an infectious smile that I said what the hell. Lol, I said Harley-Davidson colors of course. Needless to say it was a lot of fun and I will probably be back again. But next time I will bring my daughter and she can get her toenails painted. But I will probably get another pedicure. I can't wait to see the look on my surgeon and foot doctors faces next week when I go back for my checkup.... LOL read more

I absolutely love Bellus. All of the staff is so friendly and helpful, especially Megan, Kristen, Mr. Yocum, Ms. Andrea, and Kendra. My esthetics instructor, Ms. Amanda, is a goddess and I love her. She really takes the time to make sure we understand everything thoroughly, and is very patient and encouraging. Every day I wake up excited to go to class, and learn something new then do it hands on. On friday, Fallyn Morrical performed a Hydrofacial on me. Fallyn always makes sure to take her time choosing the right products for my skin type and condition, and has a great touch for facials. After the Hydrofacial, I didn't have a single blemish, which was amazing. Morgan Trapp has also performed services on me. Morgan did a microderm treatment on me, and my skin truly felt like butter afterwards! I love Morgan's attention to detail while doing services. I feel I have made the right choice coming to Bellus for my education. I couldn't be happier with the environment. read more

I won't lie I was sceptic to come back to Bellus after my hair was initially dyed the incorrect color. But after talking to Instructor Crystal on the phone she shared her confidence in her students with me and made me sure they could fix my hair. The Instructor worked closely with Emma K to cover the original dye and showed me every step of the process. Even though Crystal was showing Emma how to do techniques on my hair I wasn't nervous, I could see Emma following the directions closely and in real time I feel like I watched her improve. It was extremely comforting to me knowing my hair would be the same on both sides as I could hear Emma and the instructor bounce the pattern between each other and stay on the same page. I had a great experience at Bellus Academy, Manhattan, KS. The staff was very friendly and polite. I went in for a haircut, wash and blow-dry, and I was thoroughly impressed by their professionalism. All students there are supported on the floor by their educators, and in my case, the educator did demonstrate part of the haircut, and then my stylist, Ryker, continued amazingly. I appreciate his professional approach and he did put me at ease. It is great value for money, and super awesome services. My hair looks heathier, has fewer split ends, and is cut exactly like my inspiration picture. I am very happy with my decision to choose Bellus. I would absolutely recommend it to everyone. The only disclaimer is that as it is a training institute, the services might take a little bit longer, so just plan for it accordingly. read more

I received an aromatherapy facial from Sylvia! She did an amazing job-totally exceeded my expectations. I, a Cosmetologist, know what a good facial is about. I have never recieved an aromatherapy facial previously to today, only basic facials. But the aromatherapy with Sylvia totally set a new standard for me. She totally blew it out of the ball park. Nailed it! She didn't try to have conversation, she made me feel relaxed and comfortable. Perfect pressure with the massaging portions and relieved a copious amount of stress. I prebooked for 3 weeks with her because it was incredibly relaxing. I would highly recommend Bellus Academy. I have been going to Bellus for a few years now and love being part of the experience of these wonderful people learning their craft. I had a Hydrofacial with Cameron on May 7th and absolutely loved everything about the service. Cameron was very professional. I follow many of the students who have provided services for me in the past. I love to see them on Facebook or Instagram sharing their amazing skills. I have recommended Bellus to many of my friends and always let them know, this is a school.. they are all learning and I am happy to be part of that experience for them. Some services may take a little longer than most people expect, but that is all part of the process of teaching these amazing students.. The prices are phenomenal. Well today is the day for my new look and boy what an experience it is & what an unmanageable mess Tess has to fix. As I've continued to wonder what to do with this mess of a head Tess helps me in every way possible, she even went out of her way to find a picture that matched the description of what I finally decided to get done. Her picture & input sure did sh help. She listened to all my needs concerns and questions and supplied me with sufficient information and answers. She is very professional , confident and assured of her work and (hopefully ) has every reason to be. Although I I'm only at the beginning stage I am confident that my new look is going to be wonderful. I recently went to have several spa treatments that my husband had gotten for me for my birthday and was so pleased with the results and absolutely loves those people who took care of me at each step. First the instructor that helped my husband arrange my birthday treatments was absolutely the best at creating my day from start to finish!! Thanks Ryanne DuPree for the best spa treatment I have ever had!!! Next each and every stylist, nail technician and the Esthetician was so patient, kind and knowledgeable that it made my experience a wonderful one!! Amazing services at great prices. Yes, sometimes the students aren't as good as a stylist would be, but I go there now for massages and I love them! And today I got an aromatherapy facial from Crystal and the bad news is she's graduating! I fell asleep three times that I'm aware of. It was one of the most relaxing 90 minutes of my life! Unfortunately Crystal is graduating on August 25, but I'm getting one more facial from her before then. And the thing is, Crystal's not an exception (nothing personal, Crystal), but I'd say about 75% of their students do such an outstanding job that when you get a job that's not outstanding, it's okay and you want to go back anyway. Mackenzie did an amazing job at adding highlights to my hair. She was a lot of fun to talk to and made the time go by quickly. She graduates in the next week and I'm so excited for her!! Do expect to spend some extra time here, as students, everyone is learning and it takes them a little longer than a regular salon since they have to check with their professors often. I really love Bellus and at atmosphere it brings. I came here for the Nail Technician program and just had planned on going back to college after that. Ms. Gina is one of the reasons why I love Bellus and decided to come back for the esthetics program! I've learned so much more than I ever could have imagined thanks to Bellus! I am now in the esthetics program and Ms. Amanda is so knowledgeable and fun. Phoebe Crusch is in my class and is great at giving back polishes. Most people who complain about Bellus do so not realizing the fundamental principal here: These are students learning in their profession and thus mistakes happen. Everyone knows this when they sign the form that states such at the front table. Second for the price you pay the services are an EXTREME value. I have had haircuts really good and some ok, but never a bad one. All of my massages and facial treatments have been top notch..esp the hydrofacial. Give this place a try men and women you will def enjoy the sevices for what you are paying. Treat the girls nice also they do not deserve anything else. read more

It doesn't take going to another school to know that Bellus is simply the best! I have never been in another group of students that are so dedicated to helping each other succeed, and the educators are always there to cheer us on and keep us motivated. My love for esthetics has grown and I've even noticed a transformation in my own skin using the Murad products. The oil control mattifier is one of my favorites for controlling shine but it's hard not to love them all. My favorite service so far is the pumpkin peel body wrap but I'm so excited to start facials! :) read more

First time getting my hair cut at Bellus, I was lucky enough to be a client of James. He was awesome in every way, the building and the people were all awesome. Not only was it a great environment and I got to meet a lot of new and cool people, but the quality of his work and his knowledge of his craft was just amazing. He talked to me and explained every step, we had conversation the entire time I was there, I truly enjoyed my experience there and the passion James brought to the job and just to life in general. I love Bellus so much! Even though they are still learning, they do a much better job the other salons I've been to. I've had my hair done once and nails done twice. This past week, I got a full acrylic set done. Crystal did my nails and she wad so good. My infant son got fussy when I couldn't face him and talk to him. All the girls were really good about it. Even coming in on their breaks between classes to hold and play with him. It made it so much better for me. I have to give them 5 stars because that's as high as it goes. read more

Bellus Academy's teaching style is superior to its rival, B-Street, and its low prices and great coupon deals are worth it. I have gotten my hair dyed there, received a pedicure, manicure, and had a handful of 1 hour long back massages there. The students are professional, my hair looked fabulous, and I almost fell asleep while being so relaxed in my deep tissue massage session. They even have a Facebook page that takes off $25 off any service- making a $30, one-hour back massage just $5 dollars. read more

Fallyn Morrical performed lash services on me. She tinted them and added some extensions to them. She made sure we were on the same page in terms of what my desired look and fullness were when doing it and she did it all with such ease and happiness. It's clear she loves doing her work.
