I would never recommend this company. Manuel Feliciano performed fiberglass refinishing work on my…read morepool without the required contractor's license. The work caused my fiberglass pool to fail and "pop," resulting in catastrophic damage. Although he initially agreed to reimburse me through small installment payments, he stopped making payments before repaying what he owed. I ultimately had to spend more than three times the original cost to have the pool properly repaired by a qualified contractor. Afterward, he claimed he had moved to Spain, making it even more difficult to recover my losses. My experience was costly, stressful, and extremely disappointing. I encourage anyone considering hiring this company to thoroughly verify licensing and do their research first.

Hydra Pool Service is an outstanding pool maintenance provider!…read more For several years we used Barb's Pool Service for our pool maintenance and were quite satisfied. When Barb retired, her company was apparently acquired by Howard's Pool World. Unfortunately, they have a strict policy of servicing a pool only below the water line. When some worrisome black mold appeared on the underside of the coping tiles around our pool's edge, they absolutely refused to remove or treat it. That's when and why we began searching for a new pool maintenance company. Fortunately, we found Hydra Pool Service, a small but growing company. Hydra not only agreed to maintain our entire pool, they sent TWO of their technicians out that SAME DAY to remove the worrisome mold and clean the entire pool! Our great grandchildren use our pool frequently and our granddaughter reports that our pool is now remarkably clean with clear, sparkling water! Such excellent results from a truly customer-oriented company also came with a slightly lower monthly rate! We can confidently recommend Hydra Pool Service to anyone in Punta Gorda or the surrounding area!

I tried finding leaks in the heater and pumps, but nothing was significant enough to warrant that much of a leak. I looked up Sherlock via Yelp and noticed they had good reviews and were local. When I called, my reservation/appointment was within 1 week which was very reasonable since this wasn't a huge issue at the time. The technician came to my house and explained the pricing/labor. I verbally agreed and within a few minutes, he dove into my pool and went to work. He came out about 30 min later and explained he fixed the leak. Apparently the old owner had tried fixing the light fixture on the pool and water was leaking into the sides of it. He removed the old silicone around the light frame and put in a high grade water weld adhesive. My pool doesn't need frequent filling anymore and the total cost of the fix for time and troubleshooting was around $300, which seems very reasonable for what they are doing. I would definitely recommend!
