I bought a house in Port Charlotte area a few months ago. I noticed I was filling up my pool more than once a week. I tried finding leaks in the heater and pumps, but nothing was significant enough to warrant that much of a leak. I looked up Sherlock via Yelp and noticed they had good reviews and were local. When I called, my reservation/appointment was within 1 week which was very reasonable since this wasn't a huge issue at the time. The technician came to my house and explained the pricing/labor. I verbally agreed and within a few minutes, he dove into my pool and went to work. He came out about 30 min later and explained he fixed the leak. Apparently the old owner had tried fixing the light fixture on the pool and water was leaking into the sides of it. He removed the old silicone around the light frame and put in a high grade water weld adhesive. My pool doesn't need frequent filling anymore and the total cost of the fix for time and troubleshooting was around $300, which seems very reasonable for what they are doing. I would definitely recommend! read more

Joe arrived. Joe found. Joe repaired. Very personable and professional fellow. We are happy. The reason the review isn't 5 stars is because there is no attempt to make an appointment beyond 'morning or afternoon?' And after an hour passed, we felt we had to call to make sure we were really on the schedule. We really don't like having our time wasted. This time it turned out fine. read more

not impressed with service. joe the rep came out and inspected pool while i was at work, called me for payment and left receipt for me. when i got home from work reviewed and thought i understood . this is what receipt stated leak at return line behind *3 water return $1750.00 to fix could not afford at this time. i started to repair on my own cut tile and concrete at what i thought would be #3 to find no leak. so i am not a pro pool person so i called to get varication how to proceed joe the tech was on vacation for two weeks no problem so i waited. when i called i was told that if i needed him to tell me i would need to pay for a service call again Lauren was nice enough to tell me that #3 was the third return from skimmer clockwise. that is what i thought and that is where i opened the concrete already and found no leak. not happy with results . read more

I called Red Rhino first and was told I had a leak in the spa jet pipes under my stamped concrete pool deck. For a total of $1,645 they would fix it after jack hammering the concrete in the deck and they would put it almost back to what it was - minus the epoxy coating on the concrete. Yikes! I wasn't ready for that much destruction. So I called Sherlock Leak Detection for a second opinion. Without telling Bill from Sherlock what Red Rhino found, I wanted to see if he thought the same. But after only an hour checking the jets, the spa and and actually scuba diving in the pool he found a leak in the main drain at the bottom and without damaging ANYTHING he fixed the leak! For a LOT less than Red Rhino and without destroying my pool deck I no longer have a problem! Bill at Sherlock is my HERO. He knows what he's doing. Don't call anyone else! read more

We are very pleased with Sherlock Leak Detection. Our pool guy thought we had a hidden leak for reasons I won't go into. SLD came when scheduled. We were out of town. Gave a full investigation and couldn't find any leaks. Adjusted some valves to work better. Called me to report what was done. Honest people! Could have scammed us saying the was a leak. Do a lot of unnecessary work and presented us with a big bill. Our pool guy had prepared us to be paying a Hugh Bill for repair that wasn't needed. THANK YOU SHERLOCK. we'll call you if ever there is a problem. read more

Found my pool leak on first visit. Scheduled 2nd appointment for necessary repairs. Technicians showed up on time. Completed a very fine and very satisfactory repair job in about 3 hours. No issues. No complaints. Overall a very good job. I will/would recommend this company for any (in-ground) pool issues. read more

I've been putting off getting my pool leak fixed because I've heard horror stories about the procedure. Finally I asked my pool service to recommend a company and he said Sherlock. Wow. I should have called them a long time ago! Frankie came out within a day and checked everything. I did not have my heater on and he had to scuba dive into 67 degree water. And he found the leak! And fixed it!! And it was way less expensive than I had feared. Then he explained how my whole system works. Lucky me! I got the best company I could hope for. Call them first!! read more

Kevin & Adam were great. Friendly & professional. Kevin found leak on first visit. Then they returned to replace broken return jet pipe under deck. They did a great job. You wouldn't even know they cut into tile. The pool is back open. Yay. read more

I needed to have a pool drain cover replaced. Luckily, I was referred to Sherlock Leak Detection. They were wonderful. Returned my calls, called day before they were coming to make repairs and were excellent to work with. I'm very happy about the service I received. Not often these days you get this kind of service. Highly recommend. read more

They were very thorough in attempting to locate the leak. After making a preliminary inspection, he put on his wet suit and carefully looked at all the possible areas for a leak. He has a clever heated water system that allows him to stay in the pool comfortably even if the pool is not heated. It was that system that allowed him to eventually find the leak. Truly a professional that takes his job seriously. Highly recommend them. read more

I was happy that the leak in the pool was minor. One of the jets was leaking, which required an epoxy/sealant. The technician was efficient, professional, and answered my questions with clarity. read more

Initially, I used a "pool guy" who quoted a lower price to find the leak. After a week, he was still uncertain as to the location of the leak. We paid the "pool guy" and called Sherlock. They found the leak in 2 hours and quoted a price range for the repair. The leak was under our pool deck so it wasn't cheap. I thought we could simply close off the pool drain and not do the repair, but after 3 months of fighting a green pool, we bit the bullet and scheduled Sherlock to make the repair. Even though they had to jack hammer through the pool deck, they were done in 4 hours and the final cost was at the low end of their estimate. It wasn't a cheap repair but less than we anticipated. Their pool techs were friendly and explained things as they progressed. Should have gone with Sherlock right up front. read more

Our pool has been leaking, and we had someone come out to fix it. They could not find the leak and suggested we call Sherlock. I called on Monday morning, and was given a date within a few days, which, for this time of year, I was very happy. I received a call back about an hour later asking if the tech could come by shortly. Very professional, listened to what I explained that we had already tried. Found and fixed the leak. Also explained the pump/filter system, went on the roof to check the solar system. Would highly recommend. Very fair price, very thorough. read more

Sherlock responded quickly and helped diagnose the problem with minimum down time!
