Rize All: Where quiet kids dance!…read more We came in with our nervous, quiet kid who surprised us when he decided to join a hip hop class. Ms. Mona and Julia welcomed him with positivity and kindness, helping him feel comfortable in minutes. As soon as class started, he was grooving! As performance day arrived I feared he would lose confidence but he jumped on stage with a HUGE smile and pride! Rize All isn't just about dance--it's about confidence and pure joy. P.S. If you're on the fence--do it. What have you got to lose?

Parking is typically pretty easy to find in the large shopping center they're in. We signed her up for their once a week introduction to dance class. She loved her classmates and instructor and wanted to do their recital in June. The class provided a lot of valuable life lessons. She learned and had several things reiterated: confidence, human kindness, paying attention, respect, responsibility, timeliness, and trying your hardest. Their waiting room is exceptionally small, and they prefer you drop off and pick up your child after class. Unfortunately, that's not realistic for her due to some separation anxiety issues, but we'll continue working on it. Starbucks and Walgreens are both within walking distance for those who are able to drop off their child or children. They sell a variety of ballet and dance apparel and shoes. The recital costumes were reasonably priced and absolutely gorgeous. Tickets were also reasonably priced, and the show was well planned and executed. Our daughter's dance partner bailed on her before the second show, and her instructor Mona helped instill the confidence in her to perform a solo rendition that she did a fantastic job with. She's excited to begin class again in August after soccer is over and to perform again in December's recital.

Parking is readily available. It's easy to register your child online and they accept payment plans if needed. They're well organized and do a great job overall communicating with the children and parents. You'll need to download the Band app which many other theater companies utilize as well to communicate reminders. Our little one has had pleasant experiences and made new friends. It's built her confidence and she thoroughly enjoys performing. Tickets are reasonably priced and we're looking forward to seeing her in their upcoming Willy Wonka production. It's a great way for children in the Elk Grove area to participate in children's theater. Performances are currently held downtown, but everything is well spelled out beforehand. They're also great at answering questions in a timely manner. They offer a variety of shows, so don't fret if the first one you see isn't up your child's alley.

After consistently taking their yoga, Pilates, weights, stretching, and boxing classes, I'm now 170-180 lbs and feel stronger, more energized, and nearly pain-free. I burn around 800-900 calories in the Pilates/weights classes and use yoga and stretch classes to recover, which is an amazing balance for building muscle, improving stamina, and increasing flexibility. The infrared heat helps me warm up safely and avoid injuries. The staff here is incredibly friendly, supportive, and committed to helping you become your best self. They'll push you, encourage you, and celebrate every step of your journey. Highly recommend joining if you're ready for real results.

This studio has genuinely become a special place for me…read more I've taken classes with most of the instructors here, and every single one has been welcoming, supportive, and truly focused on their clients. They motivate without pressure and always remind you to slow down, breathe, and surrender to the mat. In a joking way, I tell people that all of them have become my therapists, because somehow they always share the exact words I need at the right time. Over time, I've come to really see and hear the instructors and the heart they put into every class. I appreciate them more than they probably realize. Walking in feels less like going to a workout and more like showing up to see family. What stands out most to me is the awareness of mental health and emotional wellbeing. The way they combine movement, breath, and mindfulness makes each class feel like much more than just a workout. It truly feels like a space to heal. On a personal note, this studio has become an important part of my sobriety journey. The grounding, the sweat, the stillness, and the encouragement have helped me process, reset, and keep choosing healthier paths. I leave feeling clearer, calmer, and supported. If you're looking for a studio that challenges you physically while supporting you as a whole person, this is the place. I'm so grateful I found it. Thank you Carrie, Rodney, Mary, Amy, Lowella, Asnah, Vicky, Vanessa, Ron, Hallie, Lilian, Laura, Lydda, and the rest of the amazing Uplift team. From the bottom of my heart to yours, namaste.

Doing a quick Yelp search, CJ Sewing popped up as one of the top rated alterations establishments in Elk Grove. I immediately scheduled an appointment for the following day. Since I was in such a frenzy, I totally overlooked the instructions in Ms. Jackson's (business owner) appointment confirmation email (the email states that you should bring a long sleeve shirt, a belt, and dress shoes if you're having a suit altered). When I showed up to the establishment, I was warmly greeted by Ms. Jackson and her cute furry friend- Sir Winston. As fate would have it, my suit jacket did not require altering; therefore, the belt and dress shoes that I had on were sufficient. Ms. Jackson is definitely a wealth of knowledge and respectfully shared with me that the slim fit suit pants that I had were not appropriate for my athletic build (slim waist & thick quads). However, she walked me through the alterations that she would make that would complement my physique. On the expected pickup date, Ms. Jackson informed me that she would need additional time and could drop the pants off to me later that afternoon . This was not a problem considering that I dropped the pants off at the last minute. Also, I really appreciated her communication. As promised, Ms. Jackson dropped the pants off and they were a perfect fit. Thank you CJ Sewing!

I tried CJ Sewing because of the positive Yelp reviews, but unfortunately my experience was very…read moredifferent. I brought in my maid-of-honor dress for my sister's destination wedding. The color was discontinued, so I asked about adding a corset back and a hem. I was quoted over $375 for those alterations. When I asked about a first-responder discount (because my fiancé is one), she responded by asking whether he was the one with the dress. The comment felt dismissive of the impact first-responder life has on a whole family. I then asked about a graduate-student discount, and she began asking several personal questions about my education. I even offered to show my student ID, to which she said she was "just trying to make conversation" and that she would take $50 off--but the exchange still felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. She scheduled me to return in two weeks for the first fitting, where I would try on the corset and we would mark the hem. However, when I arrived, the corset wasn't completed. She explained she had difficulty finding a matching back panel and ribbon, which I understand since the color was discontinued. What concerned me was that she hadn't sourced materials ahead of time and didn't offer alternative solutions (such as lace) until I prompted her. She even suggested using fabric from the third layer of my dress for the back panel--something that would clearly be visible in photos--and only agreed it wasn't a good idea after I pointed it out. During the first fitting, I also told her that the corset was pinching my back and I didn't like the way it looked. She said nothing and offered no explanation. I later learned that with a corset, you're supposed to shift your back toward the sides to prevent pinching--something she failed to mention, and possibly didn't know. I had also repeatedly struggled with the straps since my first appointment, and instead of offering to re-sew them, she recommended adhesive. When I asked about simply re-stitching them, she hesitated and commented about my "budget," which felt judgmental and unprofessional. She then quoted $40. Because of the missed deadline, lack of proactive solutions, and overall unprofessional communication, I decided not to continue the alterations and returned to pick up my dress. At pickup, I told her I would pay for the work she had completed and compensate her for her time marking the hem. She initially agreed, but then tried to charge me the full cost of the corset--even though it was unfinished. She also tried to charge me for a hem that was never sewn (just pinned). After going back and forth--and telling her I wasn't there to argue--she charged me $25 for the 30 minutes she spent marking the hem and the partial corset work. I ultimately paid $150 for half a corset and pins she removed. Overall, this was a stressful and disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend this business.

I've sung on teams for years at our church, but when I finally heard myself on YouTube I knew I needed professional help. LOL. What makes Raquela the consummate voice instructor? She has a true depth of understanding of what needs to come together in order to sing well-- the musculature, breathing, psyche. She is also extremely articulate, so she can explain these intricacies to me. An excellent observer, she truly listens to me and watches me sing, providing constructive criticism. Just a glimpse of the level of her expertise-- she was asked to teach lessons in breathing to her fellow Broadway singers!! She cares deeply and is fully committed to the growth of her students, personally invested for sure. Any student who listens to her and works hard will get to the next level. What's more, she's even tech savvy, so she hasn't missed a beat during COVID and is still teaching fabulous lessons through Zoom.

Raquela has so much experience with all different types of voices, and has the unique ability to help every singer feel like a star! Within just three months of working with Raquela, I not only felt a huge difference in my voice and confidence, but I was able to earn the highest talent score in my local preliminary competition to Miss California within the Miss America Organization. That was just in 3 MONTHS!!! Nearly four years later, my voice has never been better, but best of all, Raquela has pushed me out of my comfort zone, and has shown me what I am capable of as a performer, and as a person. Raquela's presence is infectious and positive, and she is an absolute delight to work with. Not to mention she puts a huge emphasis on vocal health, and knowing the value of truly taking care of your instrument has changed my life. I will also add, I have worked with a variety of voice teachers over the past 15 years, yet I have learned the most and seen the biggest differences while working with Raquela. And with her prices? The best and most affordable you will find for working with someone who is a professional, and has had a tremendous amount of experience in the entertainment industry. Lastly, if you work with Raquela, she will always be in your corner. She will be your advocate, and biggest cheerleader. Who wouldn't want that in a teacher?! So what are you waiting for?
