This private, gated community is complete with pools, activity center, 11miles of paved private roads (learned to drive here) that are great for biking, and even has a security patrol 24/7 to keep things safe! Each lot is privately owned and there are strict rules on what you can put on that land. Most people have a small park model trailer with a bunk shed for extra space. Sounds a little ghetto but these trailers can cost upwards of $50k. Most are kept nicely. In the last few years the Glen has added cable so owners van now have cable TV, Internet and even a landline. It makes for the prefect place to work remotely for those lucky enough for a break from the office! I love coming here any time of year, but summer time late nights around the fire is always my favorite followed closely by the exact same after a day skiing at Baker!

Kolby is an articulate, engaging weaver of tales, and her vintage costume added to the ambiance. She was armed with old photos of the buildings we discussed in our 1.5, one-ish mile tour. The photos were fascinating, because many of the buildings no longer exist, and the rest of them have been altered in the meantime. This was my second tour with Kolby, the first being a virtual tour of the Bayview Cemetery during Covid. My goal is to join all the tours at some point. But still, co-owner and guide Wren Urbigkit felt compelled to tell us that cursing and cleavage are key components of the tours. Because some people have missed that memo. Those who see Bellingham as a politically-correct college town may experience strong reactions when they hear how the town came to be. Without sharing too many of the tour's secrets, here are a few insights: Working girls were seen as a necessary evil by some wives, to keep bearded, flannel-sporting young men away from their daughters. And their bosses, madams, were seen by colleagues of many male entrepreneurs. And for those who think Bellingham is experiencing crazy growth now, wait until you hear about the late 1800s! The tour wraps up with adult beverages at Stones Throw Brewery, which has a parking spot dedicated to one of the afore-mentioned madams, Miss Annie.

Scott was there to greet us, helped us set up, even assisted with needs we had after getting there such as firewood, etc and was beyond helpful. The glamping site itself was super clean, well prepped with everything we needed, comfortable, yet did not take away at all from the true camping experience one bit. My dad is an avid camper and we grew up camping in a similar fashion and our set up was close to this, only we had plush beds, a dresser, local artwork in our tents, and the convenience of not having to bring much gear. We glamped in site 6 which included 2 tents and was able to sleep four. They do an amazing job and for the $, you get a lot. They provide all the things you'd get in a hotel room (maybe more) except in a wilderness setting. But here's something I loved... they also do frequent routine checks on your site to ensure you're comfortable, have any questions or need anything. You can simply communicate via your mailbox and they will not bother you otherwise. It's the cutest thing ever. This was my daughters first time camping (ages 3 and 5) and we wanted to ease them into camping, and I have a feeling, we'll never do it any other way. My only hope is that Leanto continues to a) expand so that we can continue going to new places b) one day allow dogs. While I gave Leanto 5 stars because this was the most perfect camping trip ever, my husband probably would have minused half a star for us having to leave our furbaby at home.

Both tents had enough bedding. The bed was very comfy and warm :) the tents also had side tables, coffee, side tables, cabinets, flashlight etc. Gamp site had everything you could need. All you have to do is show up :) the campsite is also 5/5. Clean bathrooms and showers and lots of drinking water around. The whole thing costed us $250 for 4 people. In order to deal with Covid19, Riley has an ozone machine that runs for two hours to clean the rooms.' The cleaning wasn't done when we arrived (check in time is 3pm, we arrived slightly after that), so we wandered the far. We got to hold a chicken and pet a rooster, and then we tasted a few lovely ripe tomatoes from the greenhouse. We were excited to see a fig tree, although none of the fruits were ripe. The farmhouse was perfect for us as a couple. Lovely comfortable bedroom, mattress and pillows, with thick and soft sheets. The bathroom was large. The kitchen has everything you could want for cooking. We made pizza and plum jam while we were there. The farm eggs were great, as was the local yogurt and bacon, Dave's organic bread, and freshly roasted coffee. We didn't get any jam or granola (which we read about in other reviews), but we made our own. We loved being able to explore the garden. The kale was sweet and the basil was fragrant! Things to note: I had been really excited about the "soaking tub" but it was a little grimy on the sides. Though I suspect it was because the water there is hard, and I didn't feel comfortable filling the tub to soak in. I had also expected the pizza kit to be a rolled out pizza dough that you just put topping onto. What we got was pizza dough that needed to be rolled/tossed/shaped. The pizza oven also came with minimal instructions so we had to text Riley about it and then google how to make pizza. (450F, precook the crust, then cook the crust with ingredients). The pizza was very good though. We loved the black garlic and the tomato sauce. Riley was generous about sharing the bounty of the land (and sea!) with us, and we loved his hospitality.
