We had a great time Glamping with Wanderlust at Moran State Park, on Orcas Island.
We were in Glamping site #4. Everything was well laid out. From reserved parking spot, signs directing you to assigned camp site. Wanderlust staff was great. They met us at check in to help point out the lay of the land.
The Glamping sites sit on the ridge above standard camp sites, with plenty of space between. (Read: not crowded). Sites look like pictures below.
Tent was outfitted with everything you could need. They will provide firewood and morning coffee service if you choose.
That is the unspoken benefit of glamping. Generally when you camp, you travel to camp site during your day, you get to site and struggle to erect a tent you may have never put together before, or the last time you broke it down you forgot to pack all the parts. Then its arranging the sleeping bags, where to get firewood, water, etc.
With Wanderlust @ Moran, we arrived @ 3, put our backpacks in tent, filled their water jug with water from spigot 30 feet away, fire wood was next to fire pit. DONE
We went for a bike ride!
Whats included: Queen bed, dresser, mirror, table for two with chairs. Another table is loaded with coffee, tea, tea pot, granola, excellent bath soaps and shampoos.
Nice linens, comforter, and an extra wool blanket were provided. As well as towels for showering. Racks for coats and towel drying.
Outside the tent they provide fire pit, two chairs and a picnic table with clean table cloth. Sites are very level and spacious.
Bathrooms and shower facility is a short walk down path. The four bathrooms and two showers are shared with all campers. Showers are coin operated ( bring change)
One shower was out of service during our visit but did not impact us much. Facilities seem to be cleaned daily by state park staff.
Our only recommendation is: warmth in the tent at night. Nights in May in the Pacific Northwest can get chilly. We kept zippered windows closed during the day to retain some heat. Seemed to help a lot.
We plan to return next time for sure.
Thanks Scott and Laura!
