    Lap pool.
    Claudia C.

The reviews I've seen for this place aren't great, but it's my go to lap swimming pool. We don't have to many great places for lap swimming so I've always came here because it's quick and convenient. It's best to get here earlier in the day knowing it gets busy as the day goes on. The warm pool on the other hand is worth skipping knowing its full of loud, screaming kids. I've never had any problem with the pool here and think what you get out of the $5 price is great. Overall I think this is a great place for lap swimming and would recommend coming here to do so.

The Bellevue Aquatic Center has two pools, both of them really big for indoor pools. The Blue Lagoon pool is 25 yards long with six lap lanes, a diving tank and a 10-foot slide. They keep that one at around 85 degrees (too cold for me!) The Warm Springs pool is one-of-a-kind, built for therapy and rehabilitation. It has a wheelchair ramp and an average water temperature of 91 degrees (that's more like it!) Locker rooms are available for men, women, and families. They are clean and well designed, making it easy to get ready for swim class even when almost all the kids for the classes are in there with their parents. Locker rentals are just 25 cents and swimming access is less than $5 per session, even cheaper if you buy 12-for-the-price-of-10 ticket books or a season pass. Indoor pools are sort of automatically loud because of the way sound reflects off the walls, roof, and the water surface, but this setup is better than most. The staff here is friendly and helpful. There are lots of lifeguards, and they are actually paying attention, not reading magazines like they do at some pools. The swimming teachers are all lifeguards and even though they are mostly pretty young, they have been trained well and do a great job encouraging and guiding the kids in their class. This is a great place to take the kids on a rainy day for some exercise!

What initially seemed minor quickly escalated into a much more serious, full-body condition requiring an ER visit and follow-up care with a dermatologist. This has been an incredibly stressful and painful experience for our family, all stemming from what should have been a safe and well-maintained facility. I did contact management to report what happened. While they stated that their cleaning and maintenance procedures are within guidelines, that response was frustrating given the outcome and the severity of my daughter's condition. Proper sanitation of hot tubs is critical, and based on our experience, I would urge others to be cautious. Unfortunately, I can't recommend using the hot tub facilities here.

For a gym environment, proper air circulation is essential, yet the air feels stagnant and there is a persistent, strong odor. It is very difficult to work out in these conditions. I'm literally drenched in sweat the moment I walk in, and the lack of fresh air makes me feel lightheaded and dizzy during my sets. Is there a working AC system? Are there plans to improve cooling for the summer? I need to know this before I decide whether to renew my membership or not. The last three months have been unbearable, and I believe this might even be a safety/health code issue. Second, the equipment. Many of the machines in the main area, specifically the hip abduction/adduction (inner/outer thigh) and leg curl machines, are broken. While the renovated zone is great, these essential machines have been out of order for a while. Are there plans to repair or replace them soon? I would appreciate a clear response so I can understand if I should continue coming here this summer or if I need to look for another gym where the conditions are safer and the equipment is functional.

It isn't like typical gyms, it feels more like a gym-resort-wellness center. It has high ceiling and ventilation is great. It can get smelly if it's super busy but that's why I go in the morning. I also like how everyone just focuses on themselves and no one is judging or being "weird." It's like everyone working out on their own pace and no judgement. I also had no experiences of going to the gym. It feels daunting initially because there's so many machines and it's overwhelming, which is why I particularly wanted to get a personal trainer and I love mine. But only for us. The minute I picked up a paddle, I realized I was royalty and that Bay Club understands true elite status. My every minor whim is their command. I casually mention the "squeaky old basketball courts" are a bit archaic and inefficient for our gentlemanly strategy? Poof!--they literally roll a glorious slab of semi-permanent, cushioned vinyl right over that outdated, varnished hardwood. It's absolutely chef's kiss. They paved over the past, and I got more nets! The acoustic-deadening luxury is unparalleled. Who needs to see wood grain when you can have industrial-grade linoleum that silences the ghosts of whatever irrelevant sport used to be played here? This is what peak performance looks like: endless courts, endless tournaments, endless "Zero-Zero-Two!" shouts echoing through the hall. We don't need to sweat like animals; we dominate from a neat 10-foot box with true finesse. And to those disgruntled, archaic hoop-heads lingering in the corners? Please, evaporate. Your sport is a relic, a shambling corpse, and the NBA is literally a joke propped up by shoe commercials and social media drama. The refs couldn't spot a travel if a player packed a suitcase, booked a direct flight out of Sea-Tac, and walked through TSA with the ball tucked under their arm. Did they take three steps? Four? A gather-step? Just carry the ball like a running back, nobody cares anymore! There are no rules, just chaos and unnecessary, vulgar sweating. Seriously, the puddles of "hard work" they leave are a public health hazard. Disgusting. The old days are gone, Grandpa. I hear other people complaining about cleaning staffs being cut? Or the weight room looking like a monochrome hospital ward? As if that matters. I'm too focused on my next dink to notice dust, and who lifts weights when you can master gentlemanly strategy? Thank you, Bay Club, for finally prioritizing true culture and paving the way to the future. Keep the vinyl coming! See you all in the kitchen!
