Ms. Connie and Ms Katie are awesome and loving swim teachers. They take special care of each student they have in their program. They keep the classes small, so it can be hard to get in, but it is 100% worth the wait. My two year old son has been swimming at Angelfish since he was a year old. Not only has he learned to love and respect the water but he is an incredible swimmer for his age. We are constantly stopped by people in amazement commenting on how great he can swim. We give credit to where it is due, to Angelfish Swimming. Here is my 2 year old in August enjoying some pool time in Lake Chelan. My advice, get your kiddo on the waiting list and keep following up. It's a small business and both teachers are in the water all day, every day, so sometimes responses can be slow but I promise it's not because they are ignoring you or don't care. Their mission is to teach as many kids to swim as possible and they do what they can to fit in new kids when others graduate the program. We love Angelfish Swimming!

One of my children was petrified of the water and wouldn't submerge his head on the first day, and three months later, he was literally swimming across the pool independently. My other child could just barely swim, and by the end of a few months, he could nearly beat his instructor in a swimming race across the pool. Lisa and her staff are incredible. They are dedicated to helping kids learn water safety awareness, building confidence and independence, improving swimming technique and endurance, all while encouraging kids to have fun and truly enjoy the water. We are so grateful to Lisa and her teachers (our boys adored Aidan!) for helping my children learn the important life skill of swimming--something they will take with them for the rest of their lives!

After one session with Gelsi she emerged from the pool so proud that she actually swam. The way that Gelsi broke down her instruction into logical points that clicked with my daughter was much appreciated. Also, the owner, Lisa, is responsive and easy to communicate with. She checked in with us following the first lesson to make sure that we were happy.

The things I really like…read moreabout them: - you pay on a monthly basis and get the time slot you want and keep it as long as you continue to pay. None of that re-enrolling after 10 weeks (or however long other swim programs are) and writing down 3 time slot choices (hoping to get your #1 choice). - group session is maximum of 3 swimmers! - consistent teachers. My daughter had teacher John for almost 2 years before seeing a different teacher. - program director is very receptive of comments. Example: one new teacher talked a lot in the beginning to the point the kids were no longer listening. Explained the situation to the program director and the following week, there was improvement. Short instructions, kids listened well, and ample swim time. My daughter would've stayed with Orca if it weren't for the fact that she wanted to join a swim team and needed that next-level program to improve her endurance and skill set. I always recommend first time swimmers to check out Orca.

Orca's unique approach to swimming truly is a miracle. I just completed the 8 class beginner course in the Bothell pool. I am amazed they were able to overcome all my years of negative self-talk and experiences and now I am able to hang out comfortably in the deep end of the pool. They dispelled all my misconceptions I had about swimming and myself. Do you want to feel safe and actually enjoy yourself in this new phase of your life? Contact Orca Swim School. I am so glad I did. Truly enlightening.

Freezing cold pool and deck. Ridiculous registration process for lessons. Pool is in bad shape…read more Lifeguards too busy chatting to pay attention. Wave aquatic classes are what brought our family to the pool. The classes are OK but the registration process has become a nightmare. They recently changed it so you have to register every month. They're expecting people to stay up until midnight to register or just be SOL the next morning. Each session we have had to change my daughter's class day as it keeps getting taken by another student. This process is absurd and really irritating after waiting months and months just to be able to take lessons. Now we finally get our turn but we're being kicked out of our class each session and have to pick a different time which is not convenient. It is also stressful on parents to have to remember a date every single month. It's not working well. Were there a better place in the community to take lessons I would take my child there. But Kirkland is sorely lacking in any decent aquatic facilities, or enough swim lessons at places that are in the area. For a waterside town I find this totally unacceptable. The pool is underheated and my kids complain that it's too cold. I know it is not just mine complaining about it because I've had other friends and neighbors have the same complaint. At the bare minimum, stop propping the door to the outside and the door to the pool deck open in the winter! It's way too cold for that. The wave aquatic staff should know better than this. I can understand people not wanting to support a proposition for a brand new swimming pool because that is expensive. But at the very least the community needs to invest in this pool. This pool is a joke. Ceiling tiles are missing/chipped, making it appear unsafe to be in the pool. The showers are one scalding jet of water rather than an actual shower. So the kids get out of this freezing pool and then go to the shower only to be met with one scalding jet of water so they can't even warm up! It's ridiculous and so frustrating. Wave lifeguards spend their time chatting with others, NOT paying attention to swimmers. It's infuriating.

Ok for athletics/swim school but definitely not for family fun. Their online process of booking classes and public swim is broken. The new "session based" registration system makes it even more difficult but probably easier & more profitable for their organization.

This problem has gotten so bad and some members have no respect at all and the gym is allowing it. It's the top management and the owner responsibility to put an end to this garbage. While most members are very respectful to the gym rules there are the few that can care less by constantly being on the phone and many times on the speakers too screaming loudly . No other gym tolerates this. One good note is that the gym is always clean and theatrics in charge of cleaning does an amazing work. Never crowded and most machines are always available. Bathrooms is pretty icky, definitely wish it was more renovated and nicer. They also had so much construction upstairs and downstairs and i'd find literal dust on some of the machines i'd go on. Hopefully it's done by now. Downside is that this gym does not provide a pool, sauna, or jacuzzi which is another reason why I moved to a new gym. This place could also definitely be a lot more bigger, treadmills, stair master, bicycle machines were all squished to the second floor. Overall, good location and facilities are at the minimum.
